If you did this breakdown for every project I think you'd have a lot less projects and a lot more finished.

I mean that in a respectful way. I know I would be in the same boat if I did this.

I think you are correct, might be time to do some serious assessments.

I am at least not "that guy" who screwed his ex-wife and left her with nothing. I basically decided to walk away from it all. She is on her 3rd husband. He has two teenagers and a his ex-wife is ******. LOL. My ex-wife even complains to me about them. Funny, she never saw that in her kid and first husband (I saw it and it contributed to our splitting up).

AND She made me take the two dogs that SHE had gotten in the first place. Because, well, she works a lot and didn't have time for them and the horses.

WTF I don't even like dogs and only let her have them because she badgered me about them. I got to deal with them dying. Funny, when it was time, she made me take HER old cat to vet to be put down. geez.

But I was always the "bad" guy.

Joke: What did one cannibal say to the other after they ate the divorcee?, "Did that taste bitter?"

Last time i'll comment on this so i don't continue to pollute Strouty's thread.

Based on what you've said, you should have been "that guy" if that's how you were treated.

She works all the time and YOU were the one who bore the majority of the responsibility AND she withheld assets? I think your lawyer sucked bigtime. It's not the 80's anymore. Courts are a lot more equitable on asset division these days. Not that i'm speaking from experience, just anecdotal evidence from friends and coworkers. After the screwing you got, i don't know i'd ever talk to her again, unless there were kids involved.

I have been revisiting my projects and financials, I think I am going to shift my priorities a bit, been thinking about this anyways with all the BS going on with the family business drama. I would like to concentrate on some of the more important projects, but in a more systematic way, I feel things have been *********** out of control a bit more than normal. I only have myself to blame, luckily I have a bunch of solid advice from people that listen to me spew my hollow explanations on why I need to buy this project, or that project. The justifications have always been around, I need to start calling them excuses instead. My monthly expenses are getting up around the highest they have ever been, I don't like it, not one bit. I am putting together a list of what needs to be done to get these expenses under control. Sometimes it is easy to forget how much money is going out when you spend too much time on other people's issues and I have clearly done that over the last three months. My payments have almost doubled due to the new projects and commitments I have made, I don't like feeling surprised by something that I did by neglecting any actual thinking. Plan is to have this dealt with before winter, then I can concentrate on my projects that I already own.

Unfortunately this will sound like double talk, but I still have to buy one more carcass of a truck, $1,500 will get me about $5k in parts needed for OMO. I also would like to pursue the southern burb, but if it doesn't happen, it isn't the end of the world.

In order to do this, I need to sell a few things and reprioritize some of my spending habits. Will there be some setbacks made, I am sure, but I will continue to acknowledge them. I actually think I have been doing much better overall, no need to celebrate, but I do see improvements. There is only one thing in the last month that I wish I hadn't bought and it wasn't anything major, a stainless sink at $50. Hopefully that will be a similar trend in the future, with less and less regrets. Thanks for listening (or reading).

I came to that conclusion 2 years ago when seeing that my Father never got around to finishing anything. I kept buying things I didn't need and they would just sit there, Money wasted. I became Highly motivated to change and I did and continue to do so, I started by selling off a heap of unnecessary stuff on FB Marketplace and recouped a heap of money. Now the extra money has funded completion of other projects and help fund my new shop build. Focus on 1 thing at a time so you're not overwhelmed by everything and to get nothing achieved ;)

It truly is a big change, I have a mix of things going on mentally, fear of failure (mostly created by perfectionism), hoarding, shopaholic, “deal” seeker, and of course a touch of procrastination thrown in for fun. Maybe a bit more than a touch of procrastination, but I am not burying my head in the sand, over the last few years, I have taken less things apart and the things I do take apart I have put back together.

On a bad note (this is totally messing me up) the maroon burb’s brakes are still on the fritz, it is pulling to one side when braking. My parts will be in on Wednesday, going to tear into things tomorrow I just hope that I can get one vehicle back together and working by the end of the week, if not Bev may need to go back on the road for the foreseeable future. I have been trying to cut back on trucks and registrations, along with maintenance. :(

I think last night, I had the worst night of sleep in a long time. I actually feel like I didn't get any sleep, to top it off, my back feels like I slept on plywood. :(

Same here Strouty, then I made it to work and promptly went into a coma-like sleep/zombie consciousness. An energy drink is allowing me the ability to type this. Good luck to you. I suggest a nap before lunch or after....or both.

Kidney stones are awful, wouldn’t wish them on anyone. Sorry to hear about the trans, what was it? I think I have a couple ten speeds floating around.

Reassessing and constantly refining my priorities is a must for me. Helps keep me focused. Might need to replace your flex lines on the Burb?

I should have all the parts today, I am replacing everything in the front. Looks like all the parts for the F550 will be here tomorrow, hopefully I can get both trucks fixed, but you know how that goes.

Output shaft. Which appears to not actually be called an output shaft. But an aux shaft. Therotically I can unbolt the back plate and three shafts will come out with it.

Pulled the other side of the Burbs brakes apart, looks like that caliper was stuck too, as far as I can see, it would move out and activate the brakes, but only retract part way. I have the hoses and everything else, just need to pick up the rotor that showed up today at NAPA. This time I will post a few pictures, I promise.

Used Bev to do my errands, went to the SG to pick up a couple portable AC units, using one in the "new" office in the house at the Hill, the other is for my house where I sleep.

I think I can get the brakes changed tonight, will test drive it again to make sure that everything is OK, it almost sounds like there is a rear drum not doing what it is supposed to do. I don't want to pull that apart until after I have dealt with the fronts.

Rust once again ruins the day. Brake lines were replaced with nickel copper and they look great, but the fittings were rotted in place, tried, but failed to get them out. Now I need some fittings that I am pretty sure I have at the SG. :(

I thought I had one of them beat, but the fitting was seized onto the tube, so I was going to twist it off and mess things up more. I just cut them off, got one fitting all freed up so I can get a few at the parts store if needed, but I don't have my flaring tool either, so looks like I will have to go back to the SG anyways, not the most efficient brake job I have ever done.

I stopped doing mobile repairs when I got tired of running back and forth to get a tool that I only use every two years. I just tow them home now.

I am pretty sure that the fitting squished a bit while I tried to remove it, essentially making it oblong and keeping the line from freely turning. I had to essentially pound a 9MM line wrench on, it still slipped, and this was a Snap On wrench too. In the end I used vise grips. I could take the line out of the fitting afterwards without much trouble. If I had to guess, whoever did the lines reused the old fittings and that was a big mistake.

I think that it might be a good idea to add some never seize to the fitting, I looked at it and there was some obvious corrosion that could have helped grip the line a bit too much. Anytime there are dissimilar metals you can have issues. Volvo has used the nickel copper for decades and I don’t remember ever having trouble with removing the fittings. I really think they reused the fittings and that was the problem, I would not use anything but nickel copper, unless you cop to stainless. Even that coated brake line is junk, everywhere it has a clamp, or fitting it rusts out just as quick as regular steel line.

Thanks for the info. For most of my daily drivers, I just make the repair and move on. But my builds, I take a much more care, and this is a big concern for me.

The way I look at it, a touch of never seize can’t hurt, but a new fitting and nicop should be fine for the long haul.

Strouty sounds like your getting the best thing in order your thinking. You just have so many projects that's driving you crazy then mix in a little family drama and kaboom.

I just tried to knock some sense into myself, pretty sure I saw some stars. I rammed my head into the front of a dump body while I was looking at the C-70 crane's leaking outriggers. It hurt, frankly it still hurts, pretty sure it will hurt until next week. :(

My plan is to get trucks up and running this weekend so I will have a working (stopping) Burb, and a fully testable F550, hopefully one that won't overheat. Parts should all be in by Friday for that. The Burb should be doable tomorrow, but I can't locate my flaring tool. Must be at the Hill, but I didn't see it yesterday when I looked. Probably means it is time to pick up the shop and put away some tools. ;)

OUCH! maybe that will take your mind off your back

"Must be at the Hill, but I didn't see it yesterday when I looked. Probably means it is time to pick up the shop and put away some tools"

I believe that means it's time to buy another flaring tool. Pretty much a guarantee of finding the old one.

I don't know if you are leading me, or I am leading you in the injury column, but yesterday my left knee gave outy on me and I crashed face fist into the asphalt driveway, Got a long abrasion on my forehead. The only good that happened is that my sight is better, o more squinting at distant objects. :dunno:
