Trailer was a lot worse than expected, the carburetor on the pony motor was bad, muffler was broken, hydraulic oil was almost out, battery was dead, ran out of gas. After about two and a half hours we got the tail folded up enough that I felt like I could drive home safely. Went the long way to make sure no DOT, the northbound weigh station was open in full force when I went by on the way down.
As for the price, before I left he was firm at $6k, without saying anything about the price while I was inspecting things, he kept lowering the price. When he hit $4,500, I paused for a bit, then countered with $4k. It will take a good bit of welding and a bunch of other things to get it to where I need it to be, but it will be worth it in the end. Not that I needed another project, but at that price I can live with it, I had figured I was going to need to do a few thousand dollars worth of work anyways, in the end I will probably have closer to $10k into it, but the trailer will be like new when I get done. Pictures tomorrow, too dark when I got back and way too much going on when I got down there.
