OUCH. That *****.
Not a bad idea. I drove a mobile maintenance/repair truck for a yearish. Setting it up is going to cost BIG.
It really won’t be too bad, I had one setup in the past and basically still have all the stuff. It will take a while to get things where they will work for me. It is also not going to be a winter vehicle.
Yes, same truck, this one happens to be a 2002 GMC with the fancy grill and headlights. I am going to make it look pretty and run well. Unfortunately the engine is in pieces all throughout the truck, this is also the second one I have had that has almost no rust, except the floors are rotted out just inside the rocker. Should be a relatively easy repair, especially since I have a few solid donor trucks.
I am headed to the SG now to drop off Perk, then I have to drive the Maroon burb home, hopefully the transmission doesn't take a complete dump on the way. As I remember it slips between first and second, but once you baby it past that, it shifts fine again. Tomorrow is going to be an early one, got to beat the frost.![]()
Have you seen Multiplicity? This is exciting Strouty, you are motivating me to get back to organizing more of my shop. If I could just clone me, divide and conquer.
I spent yesterday helping a friend sort out an issue he was having with one of his dump trucks. It was throwing a code for excessive exhaust back pressure and had no power. We cleared the code, disconnected the exhaust piping from the turbo and took it for a ride. Had plenty of power but threw the same code. My friend said that he had replaced the exhaust back pressure sensor, so that could not be the issue. I asked him about the sensor and he said he bought it off Amazon for $40 because International wanted $160 for the same sensor. We swapped out the Amazon sensor with an OEM sensor from another truck and the problem code was gone and the truck had all the power he wanted.so I ordered the seal and a new sensor.

Sometimes OEM parts are worth the cost.
Food for thought.
Agreed, I go braided SS whenever possible.although, the H3 alpha has 178k on it now and they’re looking pretty good. You make a good point though.GM oem brakelines are not superior![]()
