Here is a photo of the inside I found on their review page.

Notice the lady locks?

I usually get a piece of German Chocolate cake here, it’s the only kind of chocolate cake I like. Normally I don’t get chocolate.

They also sell Cannolis which are good. The folks here goes nuts at this place. My mother was a big fan of their cookies. Would get a bag of them before heading back to Texas.

Paint makes it look almost done !! Looks sharp 👍

Thanks! It's getting close. I got 4 lights and then install the outlet covers. Hopefully the edging and trims get painted in the next week or so. Short of installing garage door openers, it looks like it's the grading on the outside needs to be completed and then I can start putting stuff inside it. I also need to build a temporary ramp for the bunker so I can wheel stuff down in there.

The missing light fixtures came in and so did the bulbs today. Got them installed and now I got all 16 lights.

I also got all of the outlets adjusted flush with the drywall, and got the cover on them. I need to take a level of there and adjust them all level.

One of the cover was broke on arrival so I got a replacement before I went home. Just need to install it. Guess I’ll install it when I level all of the other outlets.

Nothing much to add from the last week as I was out of the state hiking. But me and the wife did go over last night and finished up the painting some. Just need to put a second coat on the baseboard and trims. Along with a few spots of gray will need a second coat.

Other then second coat on trims, and clean the floor, that’s pretty much it for the work in the garage. I need to start working on the houses to get them ready to move into and sell.

Thought this was a cool chair that I found in the trash today. A Steelcase bench swivel chair. Other than the tear in the green leather and the wheels are rough but still rollable, I thought it was in good shape for a ninety year old chair. Look at the material list I found on the tag.

It might be my new bench chair at the new garage. Any suggestions to repair the leather seat cover and maybe refurbish the wheels or replacement?

While my wife finished up the touchup with the brush, I took the time and installed a door stop to prevent the door knob from punching a hole in the drywall. This style is a magnetic type that will hold the door open.

Works very nicely and wasn’t too hard to install.

I also took the time to clean up the garage and loaded up everything in the car so the floor will be free of stuff when I pressure wash it in the near future.

For now the painting is done.

Once I clean the floor, the garage will be ready for me to bring stuff over. I’ll keep working on the garage when I move back, but for now it’s done enough for me to start moving and work on the layout of the shop.

If things go as planned it should be February/March when I’ll be mostly moved over.

Looks great Cody.
Thanks!
Looks great, will be even better once it starts filling up.
Thanks! Hopefully I don’t fill it up too much! At first it’s going to be a mess as I bring stuff over and then start purchasing nicer storage solutions and building nicer Benches.
Looking great. I need to get a couple of door stops in the new shop before I put holes in the wall too.

Thanks! This door stop was a nice unit. I got it at Home Depot but Lowe’s has a similar version.

So armed with a pressure washer and a surface cleaner attachment, I cleaned the garage floor of the drywall compound.

I ordered this surface cleaner attachment to tryout.

I liked that it had the brush on the edge which help contain the water spray.

I first wet the floor to allow the compound to soak some water up, and then I sprayed the area down.

Before spraying,

After.

After I finished spraying the floor, I squeegee the water out of the garage and shut the doors. Turned on two heaters and left for the day. I will go back later to check on how the floor is drying.

After cleaning I found we had spilt some paint on the floor, so I’ll need to work on getting the latex paint off the concrete. Any suggestions?

At the day job, the painters use Dirtex to get latex paint off things. My area its only sold at Sherwin-Williams paint stores.

The blue and orange box stores quite selling it about 4-5 years ago here.

Thank you for posting this. I still have an area of my shop to clean, and the drywallers and painters both got stuff on the concrete I need to clean off.

Got a little something from Texas, by way of Pennsylvania! Thanks Cody, you really didn’t have to!A85E375C-8740-48E7-9F88-1AFDEFC4666C.jpeg1945D736-09DD-4B3C-9DE0-9A1803BCC12B.jpeg
Glad it got there! I was wondering if it go lost in the mail. I thought the sticker was a nice representative of what West Texas can offer in its own beauty. Not saying all of west Texas is nice, but there are some beauty there.
