Awesome job! I think Tim Taylor would approve. My wife says that is the standard I use for all of my projects. Keep up the good work!

I looked at your build thread, or read, that is, Photofukit was so great.

If you would, please put a couple of shop pictures on this thread.

If I'd seen your thread back when you were building I had lived here 30 years and could have given you some sources for fill dirt and other work. but I don't think I was here yet.

If you'd like to come out to visit PM me. I'm easy to find.

Oldironfarmer,
I went thru your thread a while back and it took me 3 days. All I can say is wow!. I agree that photobucket didn't make many fans with their FUBAR.

Haven't had much time this year to work much in my shop since the wife hounded me for her shed. I was supposed to paint the Camaro this year but as you can see that didn't happen. Since I don't have heat in the shop I'll have to paint the Camaro next year.

Plan on spending the rest of this year cleaning, re-organizing and moving a few things around.

Found a few more pics of the inside, but I don't have any of the outside on this device. All my build pictures are on a different computer.

Cause I have one of those in the center of my grill, couldn't bring myself to drill holes in the hood for it.

Very nice truck. Do I see a Mack dog as a hood ornament on it?

Have a look here > https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=306814&showall=1
The smaller blue truck is a Mack Junior and the owner has three different versions. The one shown was restored by the fellow that built the cottage I posted the photos of. Oh the rare thing about the Mack Junior is the Dog has the words Mack Junior on the Collar making for a rare Dog.

Cause I have one of those in the center of my grill, couldn't bring myself to drill holes in the hood for it.

Mack Dogs belong on Mack Trucks.

Please post more photos of you Cottage - Wifes Shed as like me I am sure many more members want to see more. I would also like to see how you wired it for power. :) Keep up the good work

Great thread while strolling thru the woods across the street, 1100 acres of forest land here in rural vt found two pickup cabs rusting in the woods..........no glass or hood or frame just cab body and doors..........did a closer inspection an found Mack id's on one which was the same as other......when I got home did some research and they appeared to be Mack Jrs did not do anything as I am an old Ford Truck guy........At a coffee gathering a guy from two towns over had some model AA truck parts he wanted to get rid of I could follow him home and get them....when I got to his place his dhop was dedicated to hot rodding in the old back in the day style........ He had a chassis and drivetrain and was looking for a body......I mentioned about the two pu cabs and he new all about the mack Jr so off we went to see them ..Long story short I had found them about 18 months before when we got there someone had done some logging in the area and both were gone!!!!!! So I hope they did not just scrap them.........but what I wanted to say is I tell my wife "IF I SAY I WILL FIX/BUILD IT, I WILL, THERE IS NO NEED TO ASK ME EVERY SIX MONTHS!!.

Nice shed. Looking forward to seeing the porch addition that will no doubt be added soon.
My 12'x16' was where the band jammed for years. Only permanent fixture was a wood stove. Now just a parts storage building. I did have a open porch, its only my list to replace and add covered porch.

Hotfr8,
I really didn't take any pictures of the wiring before I did the insulation, I did put in 10 outlets, 2 wall lights, 1 ceiling fan, and 1 cable tv outlet. I used 12/2 Rome on all the wiring in the building.
The breaker box has 4 slots but I only used 2. 1 for the outlets and 1 for the rest.

I ran 6/3 from the panel by the house to the box in the shed and buried it 24"s deep in a 2" schedule 40 pvc.

Bcoke,

Thanks, but what was the rest of all that about?

Jazz1 & HOTFR8,

No way in hell, if she wanted a covered porch she should have asked for one before I started building it. And I'm not telling her now

Got a few things added to her shed.

Built a wood box and put it on wheels so I can roll it over to the door and load it with wood instead of carrying it across the floor. Had to do it that way since the wife is a bit of a clean freak and didn't want a bunch of wood chips tracked all over.

Of course had to buy a sofa bed for whatever reason. But at least there is still plenty of room between the bed and the fireplace :)

Finished off 2 more items on the she shed, only 1 thing left to do.

Finally got that 200 lb cap on the top of the chimney and got her tv put up. That means I only have to brick the bottom of the shed next spring.

.

That is one of the silliest things I've read on here. Just wait till she figures out that there needs to be a porch, path, and built-ins. What you have done so far is looking great.

Fantastic work! I know I made sure SWMBO did not see me scrolling through this thread, even though I think it's a cool project that I can definitely see myself undertaking once I have the means to do so.

You have to remember that that "one more thing left to do" will always be there because no sooner do you think you're finished there's another "one more thing that appears at the bottom of the list. It's just a fact of life, you can't get around it.

I really like this thread. These kinda family projects are my jam. I am a little afraid to show my wife, but I think it may be her turn to get something nice.

I have been married for 32 years and there is always "one more thing" on her lists. But I can always dream that list will disappear eventually

Thanks. It was pretty easy, even with just me doing it. If I was to do it over I probably would have just installed a wood stove, because that fireplace was a PITA.

A plus for your area is there is always plenty of cheap firewood as long as you know someone that has property up north of Silverdale.

And property tax assessment.

When we built our She-shed the county assessor was out right away. Put it on the rolls as a house.

Told her it didn’t have water to it, so they just made it an outbuilding. If we’d put water to it the taxes would have been multiples of what they are now.
