It's just before 10pm Saturday here Shorty - I'm beginning to sound like the talking clock (I just did the same thing on my thread).

"On the third stroke, it will be 10 PM precisely...".

Nice smash repair Dan - I can do "panel replacement" pretty well, I struggle with "panel straightening" though.

As for spraying without a booth, I've never used a booth (I've never dabbled with that nasty 2-pack stuff either, so it's not too bad with acrylic lacquer).

Cheers.

Yup, you theoretically don't have space in your shed for spraying anything anyway! Now get in there, dig out all the American Iron, and do something inspiring (channel Bob H)!!!!!!! :p :dunno::willy_nil. :rocker: :eyecrazy:

Don, Your tractor picture reminds me of Winthrop, Wa. In their community center (the red barn) in the Men's restroom there is an assortment of pictures like that. The story I was told is that the Local volunteer fire dept. needed to raise money for some thing and the local women had a bunch of pictures taken and they sold calendars to raise the money. That is what I was told, Don't know if there was any truth to it. Maybe some of our members in that area can chime in on this. Richie

Yes. A few local fire districts {volunteer mostly} have done the "firefighter of the month, pin-up" calender thing. My moms got a calender one year. she smiled a lot that year!

I stole this picture from Nines thread.

img_2477.jpg

But here's another one

20160613_115653.jpg

These are the new seat covers that Nines made for the Delta. I will be posting more pictures as they get put back on the seats.

If any of you guys need any upholstery work done, I highly recommend you get in touch with Nines. He is top notch in my book. One of the best and it was a flawless transaction.

Thank you Shayne, you knocked this deal out of the park.

The new covers look great Dan, and I see you have a matching hand bag and stubbie cooler (Aussie name for an insulated beverage holder thingy) - who's idea was that?

I started to read Nine's thread ages ago (along with a few dozen other threads), but haven't caught back up on it yet (it's on my to do list).

I did get the back seat done yesterday. I want to say that Nines can have the upholstery job. My hands are sore. There is a lot of stretching involved, not to mention the hog rings.:eyecrazy: Anyway here's the back of the back seat. (I'm not putting it in until the top is on)

And here's the *** part of the back seat.

Did I mention what an awesome job Nines did on making those seat covers. Well let it be known that Nines did an awesome job making those seat covers. More photos will follow as soon as I have time to get the front seat done.

It is nice to see someone have pride in what they do, I like to watch people that are good at what they do. It encourages me to do the same, but I like it when they can't obviously pick the changes I have made.
So when is the Delta to be finished? (before or after my Nomad,.... yes I know).

Looks good but we need a "panned out" shot so we can see the fishnets!! :D

I must have missed a few posts on the tablet, I see them fine on the computer now and gotta laugh with you guys!

Shorty, is that a Yukon or Tahoe?

Dan, I have painted a couple cars in the yard and one in the driveway of a duplex. I always wet everything down real good with the hose pipe before praying so the dust don't kick up as bad. Most of the trash gets sanded out before clear coat.

You got one of the plates, Merc will get the other and I will have one hanging as well. I'll have to check if there are more in the numerical sequence.

Can't wait to see the Delta rolling!

I'll work on the "bigger" picture Nines.

Shorty, next time you show up, I want that beer you owe me. And now you know what I drink so don't try and bring the wrong stuff. And I'll be happy to "buff" out the scratch next time I stop by (if you don't already have it taken care of.

I managed to get the bottom cover on the front seat yesterday. A fantastic fit. I'm done saying that Nines did an awesome job for me. If time allows, I'll get the backs done (at least one of them) today.

Thanks guys! Dan, you saved the hardest ones for last... :lol_hitti

I know. I wanted a little practice doing it first. And I'm getting there. But you don't have to worry that I'll ever be any type of competition for you. You can have that job. My hands aren't strong enough to do that for a living. That's a lot of tugging and pulling not to mention the million hog rings that need to be used.

1/2 cup and Strouty....Thanks. There's still a lot more to do. After the seats go back in, I'm going to learn how to put a rag top on. It'll be a challenge as I have never even seen anyone do one. I have faith in my ability. (we'll see)

I am betting you can get it done too, with all the other stuff you make happen, I think the top will turn out as nice as the seats.

Thanks Strouty, I'm glad you have faith in my ability.

Well yesterday I was not able to do any work on the seats. I started tearing down the Jetaway transmission that came out of the 62 Cadillac. I've never done one before and there are certain things you need to know in order to rebuild it. Thankfully I found some info online that will help me get through it. Is there anyone of you guys that have ever rebuilt one? I've done dozens of TH35o's and TH400's, several Ford and Chrysler transmissions, but this old school is a little different. I've never had to take a toque converter apart to get to the clutch plates. If I think of it, I'll snap a couple of pictures.

You better take some pictures, that sounds very interesting. Besides, if you don't take pictures, how will you know how to put it back together? Fingers crossed you don't have any spare parts when done with the reassembly.

Ok, good!

Because the last gearbox I pulled down was a Hewland in Formula 3 in 1978, and when I put it back together I can't be blamed for the driver getting 3 third gears all at the same time........ :spit: :bounce: :headscrat :dunno:

Nice play on words there Shorty.

So here's a couple of the Jetaway.

After torque converter, valve body, and pump removed.

20160624_064510.jpg

Here's the torque converter in pieces. First time I've ever seen anything like this.
20160624_064601.jpg

This is the unit that houses all the clutch discs.
20160624_082451.jpg

Just calipering the clutch disc. Almost 10 thousandths wear.

20160624_084709.jpg

Now all I have to do is get it all back together.:headscrat
