No COO on the wrenches, but the factory packaging said " Made in Germany". In fact I have not ever seen anything that Stahlwille sells, that is not made in Germany.

I almost bet my money on "Made in USA"

Ebay haul since last summer -Beta (ex display units, hence few scratches)

When I picked up the glasses in Sears today I noticed this $43 pan on sale, I got it out the door for $8.16.

Only one had a brand and COO and after reading about them being "European" steel I would almost bet its made by Bahco as they have a very similar set.

Lil' off topic : I've got a pair of original RayBan Wayfarer made in USA, in 80's. Far more better made than the one from the Italian Luxotica. Funny how vintage products always rock !

I got a Stahlwille 1/4 ratchet off the classifieds here.

Amazingly enough, there is a 1/4 ratchet with a retail of more then Snap On, hard to believe I know.

Anyways, here it is with the tools from my work toolbox (The Stahlwille is my own personal item, the rest are work owned).

This is 70 tooth ratchet IIRC, and the lightest 3/4 drive I have come across vs length.

I think Vessel is in the top tier of toolmakers. I especially like their screwdrivers and bits.

Some of my old tools from the old world. All are inherited from my grandfather.

Bahco screwdrivers, these yellow handles were sold as a cheaper version of green handles. I think its time to "retire" these to be used light household jobs only.

Acesa boxwrench set. Tray is from Stahlwille, and it is just perfect for these.

This wrench set is interesting. No maker, just Made in Germany or W-Germany on two. It could be that these wrenches are bought separately, but its too late ask. Please tell me, if you know who made these. Monte, I am counting on you!

No markings on other side. Wrenches are very thin, finishing is little rough compared to Stahlwille and others. I think these are some lower middle-class wrenches. All tools are at least 20 years old, excluding Stalwille trays.

I bought two of the Stahls off here as well. I plan to keep one and give one away. They are pretty nice, but nothing outstandingly special that I see.

Went to Ohio to get a #3 phillips but True Value redid their store and got rid of a lot of old inventory. They got some interesting old world tools in but the prices aren't low like they used to be.

Thanks fellas, I agree. Former employer had the same (perhaps older version) and I loved it for 3/4" work.

None of these Beta tools have any indication of COO.

Since the year is almost over I think it is time to declare my personal favorite Old world tool of the year 2011.

It comes from Koken Japan and is the 3/8" universal joint -far right. Second runner up is the 1/2".
