Can anyone recommend a German brand/name for oil for ratchets? A few of mine are getting a little rough so I want to re-lube them. I can't get Superlube or Marvel Mystery Oil here in Germany so I need a German equivalent. I can get anti-seize and gear oil easily but it isn't my favorite. What do you guys use on the German market? Thanks.

Superlube is silicon grease.

Marvel Mystery oil is just a blend of oil and 'cleaners' that some people put into their vehicle engines to supposedly clean it. Some people say it works, others claim its snake oil.

I'd assume Germany has equivalents of both at some level.

Guys what's wrong with 8099?? Maybe the new one is better:dunno:

Gedore same as Stahlwille same as VBW or different??

Gedore 8099 Strip-Fix

Stahlwille 6623

VBW 542 1 05

My own personal experience is that any other type of stripper works better. I have one of them, and they have a series of little blades that are supposed to conform to the shape of the wire you're cutting. They really just do a crappy job at it. Could it be user error? Maybe. But I have successful clean results with just about any other type of stripper on the market, including these pictured below. So if you're really set on this style of stripper. I'd get the cheaper version shown below.

Thanks for the input. Based on the feedback from everyone I will get the manual one for the tight spots.

SnapOn TMM15 1/4 15mm, Made in USA.

Broaching is not as nice as the Stahlwille but the socket itself feels very solid

I use a "weapon oil" for my ratchets, pliers and other tools where is moving parts or joints. I found it better than wd-40, multilube, ptfe and many other that I have been tested. I'm currently using one by CRC.

Thanks for the ratchet lube recommendations! I'll try to get to a store after work and see what I can get. I bought found old Stahwihle and Hazet 1/2 in drive ratchets that need some maintenance.

Are the Facom plastic handles resistant to solvents? What happens if you get brake fluid on the handle? Or some carburetor cleaner? Does that dissolve it?

brake fluid no problem .. never left the handles soac in it though.

brake cleaner no problem I use it all the time (non chlorinated)

but the carb cleaner is nasty stuff I think it's designed to dissolve anything on contact other than metal

Hello, this is my second post been a long time lurker,

Today i bought at the local electronics shop a set of screwdrivers, it was on sale for like 12€

I am interested who made them, on the box it says "made in germany" and the guy that works there told me that the whole series of tools were made for velleman but in the wrong color so burklin "rebranded" them, its only a yellow sticker on the box not print, i looked online and the only similar shape are some matador screwdrivers

I think are resistant to hydrocarbons like benzine and diesel,i always clean my ratchet stahlwille(and almost all my tools) with benzine and nothing happened, but i don't know if the handle are resistant to acetone.I had no problems with either carburetor cleaner or brake fluid, the only one I do not trust is acetone or paint thinner.

Edit:Be careful to all tools who have the handle made from rigid plastic ABS(Acetyl-Butyl-Styrene) -they dissolve instantly.

And another important question: do they also make a bottle opener with the same handle? :)

Thanks north :), happy to see a reaction!
This is a Heuer 150mm which i bought for only 20 euros, was very lucky with that one. I used an angle grinder with a steel brush to clean of the old paint and schmooh. Then i gave it a repaint with an off brand hammerite. In the last picture you can see black caps on the vise, these are cover from Ninjaflex 3d printed by a friend of mine. My pictures are not of great quality since many of them are made with Whatsapp. If you want some close ups or have questions feel free to aks guys :).

Cheers
