The two squares means that the product is "double insulated"Hello everyone and welcome to the recent members thta have shown up these days, I have a tricky question for you;
What do these two squares mean? As the following pictures show it I have seen them on french, german and czech powertools.![]()
No in person photos, but got a used Metabo LT drill. One of the newer ones, made in Germany.
Also got 2 new grinders from Metabo today. 4.5 and 7 inch. The 7 inch was cheap because it apparently has an M14 rather than 5/8" spindle, but I haven't verified that, and one of the reviewers on amazon said that the metric spec was a misprint.

damn prices are going up and down like crazy over the past few days, but I got this for $137. I think the amazon list of $408 is slightly inflated, but not sure.
THey had some good deals on Bosch German models too.
edit: I think I'll get some Metabo accessories too, including the fibre disc pad...

Ok so who has the best price on this?

Btw.. Wiha 11 Pc Insulated Proturn" Cutters & Pliers Set $98.22
http://cgi.ebay.com/Wiha-11-Pc-Insu...lectrical_Equipment_Tools&hash=item3cb2f2872a
not too bad price?
FWIW, pliers/cutters made in Taiwan.
Update:
I had to return the 7" grinder to Amazon (W23 model) because when I finally got around to unpacking it, I noticed it was 220v and had a Euro (looked British) plug
The item description mentioned m14 spindle nut, but an early review of the item mentioned it was actually 5/8" and Amazon's description was wrong.
It was a bummer to have to return it, considering the incredibly low price at the time of sale. But thems the breaks.
I did end up getting a few Metabo backing pads for the 4.5 and 7. Nice stuff. And on amazon at least, cheaper than the Dewalt and 3m pads I've used in the past. Haven't had a chance to compare quality yet.
Monte; you can grab them right now they are on ebay.de which has also been featuring many NOS belzer items these weeks.

ps: Gedore just added a short and a long ratcheting wrench to their lineup in reversible and non-reversible ! Of course: "Made in Germany"![]()
indeed. I wonder how well they're selling so far.
Here's another limited edition Wera item:
A collaboration between Wera and Wuppertal's own soccer team, Borrusia Dortmund. A true "bumble bee" handle.
It looks like they have a star Japanese player: Shinji Kagawa![]()
Found this German video and noticed an interesting tool briefcase at 2:25-2:29. Who makes it? Also if you look closely theres some Wera and Wiha drivers in it.![]()
Hey Monte my man. What's your say on Proxxon screwdrivers?
I'm thinking of maybe getting me some PZ and Torx down the line for the occasional use. Something that will do good without costing an arm and a leg.
Danke.
Edit: Others than The Toolacle can chime in of course.![]()

which tools ??? or the website ? or the company ???
here for example

Old World? Yes. Tools? Sort of...if cowbelts can be considered musical tools.
Anyways I have a old world musical insturment around here somewhere, a German made Hohner harmonica. Pics available if anyone is interested.me too. I guess well, hence they started to make the short (which is also the first stubby combination wrench from a european manufacturer afaik)
and long ones, or they don´t sell well hence they made the short and long ones to see if they sell betteri dunno. I guess they sell good , in a german forum a couple of people complained that they´re on back order until january so maybe the first batch already sold out.
A Borussia fan from Canada ????or a Shinji Kagawa fan ??
I once saw a Hazet screwdriver set from the soccer club "Schalke 04" at ebay, maybe we see some more "fan tools" in the future.
ps:
Superautobacs has a screwdriver (iirc) from Beargrip.
But you should also ask others, maybe superautobacs, he owns similar screwdrivers from Ko-Ken.
). But then again, might pay €100 + for a big PB Swiss set.![]()
The rivet gun. I thought I had the right link up.![]()
Haha, that could be true, but let's hope not..
I'd like to see a red and white colour combination; in honour of Canadians.![]()
.
and glue it to the driver handles Pictured next to the Wera Vario handle. I hate the 6mm shaft size. I've since replaced the 6mm shaft bit holder with a 1/4" (6.35mm) hex shaft..
...I've actually transplanted the Ko-ken handle onto a twist ratchet instead.
Hey guys, I must say that I absolutely love this thread, I was looking for some old tools on the net and I stumbled upon this site, after a couple of hours of browsing trough the thread I just had to subscribe to the site!
There are some VERY nice tools here, some of which I now plan to get myself! So thank you for posting!
Since this is my first post I'd like to introduce myself as I plan on spending some time here in the future if you don't mind!
To make it short so that we don't go to far off-topic: I'm a 22 year old guy, I live in the Faroe Islands up in the north atlantic. I recently finished business school(this summer) and I went straight of to work at my favorite hardware store in town (Valdemar Lützen) In my spare time I make short movies and video commercials as a hobby and hopefully fulltime job in the future.
Thats that. Now my father who is now retired has given me all his tools, some are still in quite good condition, as soon as I get our camera to work again I will post pictures! aswell as pictures of "exotic" tools from the store which I think are of relevance. I think most of the stuff in the store will fit quite well in here because the one trait we all cherish in tools where I work is QUALITY
Stay tuned!
