NOS Mentos ???

Here stores carry a lot of inventory, old stuff is in front of newer stuff(FIFO as they said in business class) so I picked the older Dutch made ones which is still good(expires in 2014.) With tools it usully the opposite and you can find the older stuff behind the newer items.

keep both :)

Which one is better, I'm thinking Metabo?

Here are some recent finds:

"King ****" adjustable wrench, 6" long. This is a beautifully made tool and feels great in the hand. It's in great nick too.

"Black & Decker" / "Made in W. Germany" slot head screwdriver.

Last entrant is not strictly old world, Japanese made metric spanner, could possibly be from a "Suzuki" tool kit, rear is marked "RK".

Thank you. The cheapest versions seem to be on par price wise between Norway and UK but once you step up a model or two there's a huge difference.
Plug adapter is available locally so that's no problem. It is tempting to take advantage of the strong kroner and score me a Metabo PSE1200 recip saw and a Metabo GSE700 die grinder. :D

That are some good prices !!! I would definately get the die grinder for that price ! The recip saw is a rebadged Porter Cable, you might find the same saw as "Kress" brand and from "Flex" too.

Which one is better, I'm thinking Metabo?

in this case i think yes, the Bosch one looks more like a entry level tool, while the Metabo is the top of the line model (Metabo "BSP")

some larger pics + "action" pics of the Metabo:

http://metabo.de/Bild-und-Textdaten-handgefuehrte-Elektrowerkzeuge.23757+M54e0148d3db.0.html

Maybe ~55 Euros, i think. It was given to me. :)

oooohh i want one too :D

:) I don´t know, but it looks exactly like the Knipex you pictured above !?!?

Seeger actually is the inventor of circlip rings, also called "Seegerringe" in Germany

Here some recent Seegerring-Zangen (circlip pliers)

Yep its been here since the 90s. I had no idea it was German until I seen something online about the owner a few years ago.

That Sears looks to be much better stocked than the ones around here.

Everyone keeps telling me that, I thought this was normal.
Knipex, Wiha, Weller... Good stuffs in this Sears:bounce:

It's in the US even twice: as ALDI = German ALDI South and as Trader Joe's which belongs to German ALDI North. But the latter has a completely different concept.

Trader Joe's was my favorite shop when I lived in the US since it had decently priced high quality food in a nicely decorated store with great clerks. That separated them from the other chains like Walmart, Mejier oder Kroger. Definitely a shop I'm really missing.

I just got back from a business trip and had a ton of tools waiting for me.

First up a quite nice small set of Gedore ignition wrenches. They should come in handy in some tight spaces and came in a rather nice little plastic wrap.

Next a set of 12 German made Wiha screwdrivers. They're quite well made, although at this point I think I prefer the handle on the Wera drivers a bit more.

Also not European made, but I had to get a set of hex sockets as I had to replace the starter on the car, which of course uses 10mm hex bolts. I figured if I needed one, I might as well get a set and I've been pretty happy with the Grey Pneumatic stuff I have so far.

I also bought a set of Stahlwille box end wrenches. They look pretty well made and should come in handy next time I have to take off calipers. That should be pretty soon as I'm going to be replacing most of the suspension.

I've been making due with a cheap set of wrenches that came in a larger set for a while now. So, it was time for some new ones. I'm not a gigantic fan of snap-on, but Wright tools looked like they fit the bill. They're new-world, USA made and the finish on these are amazing.

Sorry, Canada doesn't have a HF so I didn't know that CP is an HF brand. What sort of CP tools does HF sell?

CP is a long standing American company, but from what I know, a portion of CP air tools were once/still are made in Japan. It used to be made by Toku, but has changed to KTS since 2008.
So, I wouldn't say CP is complete junk. :D

He is probably confusing it with the HF Chicago Electric brand. CP has never been an HF brand.

I know this exact screwdriver has been posted before but i just got this one in the mail today from Amazon and I have to say, I'm impressed. Made in the CR but it's definitely German quality. Very smooth ratcheting mechanism and as per all Wera screwdrivers, very comfortable in the hand. I must admit I was a little skeptical about buying more Wera tools after the "Wera warranty *****" thread but I figure for what I paid for it, it was worth the risk.
