Nice looking tools. I wonder how much torque the light tool design can take? But they does look pretty high tech and keeps weight doen in a tool bag.
I'm sure the wrenches specially design for light and medium duty torque, but it newer state the number of maximum torque the wrench can handle, I think it very suitable for medium torque outdoor tasks or for working at height, it very easy to bring it anywhere, very light..according to the short demos at exhibition comparing Asahi LCW light tools combination wrench and Asahi CP series (standard) combination wrenches I have no doubt the LCW can handle light, medium or even heavy duty jobs with confident

Those Asahis look neat! How light are they (esp. compared to Stahlwille)?

It's actually a (somewhat ;) ) relevant question for me since I have a set of Stahlwilles in my toolkit in the Caterham...

Guys,

can you reccomend an oil pressure tester that can be used also on motorcycles and that's readily available in Europe?
I'm trying to diagnoze whether or not I am dealin with connecting rod problems due to a noise I'm getting from my bike.
Don't want to break the bank but I don't want somthing that will break after I fisrt use it.

Thanks,
Mihai

Do you feel a big difference in your hand when you hold the Asahi wrench and then the Stahlwille for example ?

Here's an old Facom 12mm combo wrench that's a little lighter....

@ Monte, Dude that Tornador Gun is so badass! I was a detailer for several years, and my god that would have made things so much easier!

Also, how are the Gedor ratcheting wrenches? I'm really interested in buying some, but want your opinion first.

Hello! I want to share with you some pictures from my workshop--

Welcome Mitkoasd, I like your space

:eyecrazy::willy_nil:dunno::mad:
Got this defective "D+L" compressor for free:

How interesting acquisition Monte, has a chance to repair?

Very nice ratchet! By the way, I just maintain my model, apply a few drops of Permatex Ultra Slick already been better than when I bought

Some tools I bought at Metaltech Exhibition Kuala Lumpur :)
The Unique and Classic Tools :D

Thanks for all the pictures you have posted in recent days MrTools.
For several months I have seen the light-tool line from ASAHI in levelchrome.com. In good theory, the design obtained from material removed does not compromise the strength right? Or it could be some limitation on the force that can be applied to the tool?

It's been a while! I loved looking through the last few million pages of pictures.. soon I'll have something of my own to contribute again. My birthday is coming up, and this year I'm going to ask for tools instead of crummy gift cards or shoes that I don't need.

A few things off the list:

PB Swiss 215? screwdriver (The one with the interchangeable blades), and mostly Torx Plus blades for that. I just broke three torx/torx-plus drivers in the past week (2 today), because we use them very frequently, so I'm hoping these last for a bit longer!

Grobet Files... ahh.. I've wanted a few of these forever. Just the simple types, a mill file, maybe a half round/round if i'm feeling frisky, and most likely an equaling file. The Swiss made ones.. just because.

Oh, and a needle file set from Grobet too.. this is most of the reason why I'm only getting a few things this year. These babies are expensive-o. But well worth it...

Wiha "Powerhandle"? torx driver set

a few PB Swiss punches/cold chisels

Lots of deburring and scraper style equipment, though I'm not sure how much will be made across the Atlantic.

I will be getting more than this, I promise, but I need to get paid first! I get a check once a month. Blah.

The Hellstedt is a saw set. Used for adjusting the angle of the saw blade teeth. Very handy tool. I use mine mostly for my bow saws when they won't go straight. Probably not so well known these days where things are replaced, not fixed.

ash95608, I think I want more tools. Good video.

Nice video, thanks. What is the difference between the two screw extractors? I think the seconds in the metal case are new. I know the difference in design but both can do the same job? Both of them are designed for the same job? The ones in the plastic case are older but I know that they can do perfectly what they promises.

I have some photos but i can't upload them. I don't know whats going on. I'll try again later.

I really like the RHFT Facom palm control ratchets. I think the design is better than the Snap On 80 tooth ratchets simply because the head is so compact.

Now, I've only had *that* particular ratchet back in my box for a week and I haven't actually used it yet. This weekend I changed out the diff seal on my truck and used its 1/2" drive big brother to complete that job.

562 pages and I've finally reached the end!!

By way of celebration I've decided to make my very first post a pic of an old-world tool that has not yet come to light in this thread (several variations have though) - a double-first if you will...

This of course came in the tool kit of my beloved Husaberg, which was unfortunately sold when I emmigrated from Canada. It's a great opener, but I was never quite sure what they were trying to say about drinking and riding :headscrat

Welcome to the forum CanUK. Nice wordplay and cool Unior.

Nice wrenches JayL. Ebay?

Hmm... two Unior posts in a row? Surely a message from the gods, no? Better start looking.

The biggest differences are, they can be turned in clockwise or counterclockwise direction (for right-and left-hand threads), built in center punch, and hex head so you can use a socket and ratchet to drive it.

How do you like this ratchet Bj?

Welcome! Sure, this tool is must have when you're thirsty.

I needed some thin open ended wrenches ... I found some Unior.

Nice! This is 8pcs set 6-22. Polished head (110/1CB), or matt version (110/2CB)?

Hmm... two Unior posts in a row? Surely a message from the gods, no? Better start looking.

I don't know, maybe....Cause here comes the Polly, Holy Moly!:angel:
As I said beofre, I'm bicycle lover and these are must have for bowden cables and housing.

Steel wire cutter - Unior 584 Polly - 170mm
They come with two crimping dies for end caps on Bowden cable sheaths and end ferrules for traction cables.

What is this? Hellstedt & Co. Made in Eskilstuna, Sweden.

Like north said, a saw teeth adjuster. Skränktång in swedish http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skränktång

Not usable on new saw blades, with hardening and new materials.

10mm & 12mm combination wrench weight comparison :willy_nil Asahi LCW vs Heyco 410 vs Stahlwille Open-Box 14 + Open-Box 13:D

Very cool comparison! I must say (with my limited construction engineering knowledge) that I think they're much weaker than a regular wrench. Just consider the strength difference between an I-beam and two flat irons...

"Tornador Classic" cleaning gun

@ Monte, Dude that Tornador Gun is so badass! I was a detailer for several years, and my god that would have made things so much easier!

Wow, those seem awesome! Not that I do much interior work, but that seems great. Sure they require a big compressor though...

Also, how are the Gedor ratcheting wrenches? I'm really interested in buying some, but want your opinion first.

I have some of them, and I'm satisfied. Good price, and I love the 7-series. Taiwan ones are much smoother I must say. But they feel sturdy and strong. You can really feel a difference.

I wonder if a grease change/oiling could help smooth them out.

Oh, and some pics!

I got a Bahco 319 hacksaw previously this month (first trip to the outlet). I haven't even used it yet and it's already replaced :D Got a 325 this time.
IMG_1630.jpg

Sturdier frame, better frame handle ("ergo" classed) and a different blade release. Screw type on the 319, lever on the 325.

Are they like that from the factory, or just after time they feel like that?

Maybe switch the spring for a shorter/weaker one? I used a cut ball point pen spring on a Cornwell ratchet today and that turned out real well.

They're like that new. If anything, they become a bit smother with use.

Perhaps. We'll see if I ever dare try to tinker with them :)

Ah ok. Thanks. So they are better i suppose. At least cause of the hex head because you not need extra tools. I was thinking to buy this or something like that.
