I might build out the set. As I am always using torx. I will compare it to the wiha torx I have.

Is the set 10, 15, and 20. I will most likely add 7, 8, 27, and 30 to the set if those sizes are available. Maybe not 7.

Yes it is the 10, 15, and 20 and you should be getting them Monday. If you end up liking them and want to get the other sizes they are available.

I just ordered and received a 3 piece Felo Torx driver set off Amazon... only $11! They feel great in the hands, and it is a joy using them. I'll be buying more simply because the handles have a nice large diameter in the back. I use my torx stuff on carbide tooling, and some of it is really cranked down tight. The large handles help a lot.

Thanks for your opinions and feed back, I always like to here peoples different opinions and if you did want I can still send you a 3 pcs Ergonic torx set to try out and keep. If not then who ever in the US is the first one to pm me I can send it to them to try and give there opinions.

Wow great offer!

I have that Torx set and love it. I don't use a ton of Torx fasteners, but when i do, it's worth it to have nice drivers. :)

You are so lucky live in Europe...
Do you know where I can purchase Gedore tools with the same prices and they can ship worldwide?

check out the shops that monte has written but I think most wont ship overseas since the german speaking and european market is already so big. Maybe you can send GJ member Jens a message if he can also sell you some gedore stuff. (if I remember correctly he is more a hazet dealer but just ask him).

Yesterday a friend of mine said to me he has a present. And if I want to keep it I can. Of course I wanted to keep it.
As you can see that 512 STahlwille 1/2 inch ratchet was beaten alot :-o :scared:

512-4.jpg

But after some elbow grease I was like new again :D
Naaaah that is just my so far not that often used model =). They sell rebuild kits for those ratchets but it costs nearly the same (26euros) that I paid for my spotless ratchet (got a very good deal with that one). Plus I would also need a new handle.

That's a sweet gift Phobo. Does it work properly? Easy job to clean the ratchet and smooth out the handle if you want to.

yeah the old Hazet fine tooth ratchets are nice, but you have to hurry up if you want one ;) But in reality i think one ratchet per drive size is enough... :scared::) so don´t worry or just wait maybe the next Hazet fine tooth ratchet will be even better or Gedore makes one with palm control..... just wait :) ;)

Yes, thats what i said to myself every day. That i don't need an other ratchet with same drive size (except 3/8 swivel head:D) and that i must wait.

it´s ok, but Snap-On makes a nice one with 100 teeth :)

If I ever go to America I know what i'll buy.

Lol it wasn´t me ?? :D :headscrat:D
if you like fat chicks then you also like Gedore
no just kidding, Gedore is nice  ;)

yeah that´s the problem that they always have to make new tools...:D

The problem is bigger when you don't need them.

the Gedore 60 tooth are nice....
just buy a sand blaster so you can make your own mat snap-on tools :D ;)

Yes i like my ratchet a lot. :rocker:
If i ever do it, i'll never post a pic here.

bicycle tool set ! Very good idea ! i think i need a set :D

Oups sorry for that.

Gedore is good too ;)

Gedore is the best but more choices are better. ;)

If your are talking about the micro tool offering is tis more like 16 dollars after shipping.

sweet Stahlwilles ! What are the 3 Stahlwille tools in the back in the last pic? :)(1/4" dr. ratchets ?)

you have a well trained eye =) 2 are standart versions and one with quick release.

My friend said it slipping sometimes so it needs an overhaul. But I think I will leave at as it is and hope that one time I maybe find a rebuild kit on ebay. Better invest the money in some sockets.
Really dont like the way how stahlwille labels their sockets.

I never seen a plier like that before?
I dont get it. Whats it used for. Looks cool though.
Ron

Like Dillithium says it's a kind of gripping plier. The flat surface and the big teeth are good for gripping small nuts and stripped screws and such. Such things that you would often use a locking plier for, but this has better reach. You can see a intended use on the packaging, even though it's not a great picture. It doesn't close fully (per design) and have high leverage handles.

It's hard to explain, but it has a very firm grip on small nuts/items.
Once you've used it, you'll want one.
I just didn't know Bahco made them, I've been looking for one for a while now but I didn't know they were still made, it's kind of an old tool.
I'll have to run out tomorrow morning and see if my local store has one, though I hate the orange.

thanks for posting that purchase!

Here in sweden they're quite common. Even cheap brands have them. Bahco dripped handles aren't the nicest, but they're ok.

never saw something like this over here ! Nice !
Maybe old pliers + new package ?

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping. And I have thrown the package away, so any proof that they might not be Swedish is gone :)

Check out the video I made comparing Felo and Wera screwdrivers.

Thanks for the video. I haven't tried the Ergonics (only hard handle), but I must say for my hands, the Weras have been better. It's probably like shoturtle says, cause I have quite small (glove size 9) and delicate programmer hands :)

I feel quite silly though because the lined up tangs thing makes me feel "Yes, I want those!" :) It disturbs me that I can't line up both handles and tips on most drivers.

Here's my explanation guys:

Haha, your cats plays with tools? One would think they'd choose something smaller/lighter. Great solution anyway!

Inspired (corrupted?) by Monte I visited the local car boot today. I've been before and not seen much, but today there was one old boy with a table loaded full of tools. I had a quick dig through and came away with these for £5. I'll try and go back next week and have a dig through for some metric sockets and spanners.

some very nice exotic names you found there !!! I think these are the first "Steadfast" and "Taskmaster" tools posted here ! Very nice ! :pimpflash

there is a big box store here which has this test tool with a Felo Ergonic on the one side and a Felo hard handle on the other side of the same shaft so the customer can test them. This is a nice test tool, so if you ever should open a offline shop...... :)

Not 1/2, but 1/4 maybe. Something like wera style. :) Not necessary to me though.
Or..
Not ratchet but ratcheting wrench with swivel head and ratchet adaptor could cover my needs. :D

For now i'm waiting my pry bar that I ordered before 2 weeks. :)

they can send you one in a parcel :p;)

Yep. The snap on price + the Shipping to Greece + extra duty from customs = Half gedore catalog.

Took delivery today of a large set of used Facom 40R spanners. I already had a new smaller set, and when the used set arrvied I was pleasantly surprised to see they were marked France. There were a few other minor differences and I've compared the 19mm (largest common size I had) spanners below. I was (am) pleased with the new set when I bought it, but the difference in finish quality is fairly obvious.

The French set is missing the 10,14, and 15, so I'll be keeping an eye out for these to fill in the blanks (I have the 10 and 14 in the new set, but they will either live on the pegboard, or in a portable box).

The French version is on the bottom of the photos, the other (Taiwan?) version is on the top.

Marked "France" instead of "OGV", and the stampings are notably sharper on the French version. Note the differences in the open-end profile. The ring end on the French version also has a rounder bevel inwards to the working surface.
View media item 20906
Other side. Again sharper stampings. French version has a small "V" after OGV, the other has an "L". The French version also has an arrow ("->") stamped below the 19.

Closeups.
View media item 20908View media item 20909
The edge. Pic might now show it, but the French version is slightly thinner in the the beam and head (I'll get measurements if anyone is really interested in how much difference there is).

nice comparison pics !
All of the newer imported Facom wrenches seem to have a "crippled" forging around the inscription, not only the 40R but also the 440 series and the "power" series wrenches (40 LA)....

I've seen mention in this thread of Meister tools - do they have a reputation for being reasonable quality?

I recently purchased a 1/4" drive "WorkZone" socket set from Aldi - cheap, and just to keep in the back of the car. Didn't think much about it, but had a look this eve and it's made by Meister (everything stamped with their logo, and "Chrom Vanadium").The plastic handles on the ratchet and driver seem a bit cheap, but everything metal appears well made and has a nice matte-satin finish. I assume they're made in Taiwan/China though?

Old-World tools in action. Here we see a Gedore/Habero Rotband hammer being used to slay Nazi zombies in the Norwegian comedy/horror film "Dead Snow" (quite funny in the second half). Apologies in advance if anyone finds the image offensive - I'll remove it if there are complaints.

Meister is not really sought after, but since these tools or similar tools are sold under different brand names in food stores and big box stores around the globe and it seems many people are happy with these tools, i guess they might work for hobby use (or more ?) Suppliers/OEM´s seem to change sometimes though - so it will be difficult to say if the quality is always the same especially when it comes to power tools where tool "A" works good but tool "B" from the same brand not so good.

:D Yes, breaker bar. :D:beer:

I love the look of those Gedore wrenches, and especially the feel of them.
They're so thin and light, it's like you're holding feathers that magically tighten your nuts and bolts.

Rivets remind me of Gedore.. jaw shape reminds me of Knipex. I'd starting looking at those two first, I can't think of too many other companies who make them there.
