What I meant is that on 1/4" stuff, I see size and balance as very important, and bulk at the end often is bad for both. But yeah, I see that it was a bit funny thing to say. :lol_hitti

I'm not strong though, I'm a computer programmer... :)

Buying something because it's a quality at a low price I understand fully though. I would absolutely do the same! And if it is something I don't have, even better. Was just saying that I don't see the adapter as a optimal solution.

Yeah I know what you mean - just taking the piss a little :D

I actually had no intention of buying one -the thought never crossed my mind. It came up in my ebay search though, and was £5 so I thought "Oh I'll have that!". Now I'll be sure to find a use for it so I feel justified in my purchase

No new tools today :scared: but these lovely Bott cases have turned up!

View media item 24083
No COO stamp but the website states "production facilities in Germany, the United Kingdom and Hungary" (and with licensed partners and importers across the globe) - so who knows.

Nice, sturdy steel case with a push-button safety latch as well as the two regular latches. Great value as well, so I'm going to cross-post them on the UK Hot Deals thread :D

I'll use them for storing power tools -but thinking of turning one into a specialist case for servicing my KTM track-side - with foam tool control. This of course will happen when I have free time (ie not any time soon! :D)

My bit ratchet, ratcheting screwdriver, etc. It's a Husky, made in Taiwan by Reverse Gear:

P1010252.jpg

I think they might be made by Hi-Five. It isn't clear to me why they have "Reverse Gear" stamped on them.

Here's the link on the Hi-Five website.

http://www.newtools.com/pd_12.htm

I have the same one branded as a Blackhawk. I've also seen them under other brand names. They're quite nice.

There was a guy on GJ that explained the story before. Pretty much all the good bit ratchet's mechanics are made there.

I picked up some old-old world tools this weekend and thought I would share. I would guess that the open end wrenches were a set of car tools but you guys may know more. The adjustable wrench with the tire iron (or maybe wheel cover popper) is interesting. It's stamped BAHCO Sweden. Does any recognize the pliers in pic #4? They are stamped W. Germany but have no other markings. The #91 Gedore adjustable does not have a C.O.O. mark.

More pics here:

Been looking at bench grinders. Anyone familiar with Scantool/Kef Slibette? Looks to be a Danish company-do they have a good reputation for quality?

Really like that vise! Those are forged, right? If you get tired of it, just send it over to me. :lol_hitti
Yes, they are forged. I fell for them when I first saw them and now that I have one I have a sneaky suspicion that there won't be any Heuer leaving here any time soon.

Tell you what, if I ever become a poltergeist I'll deliver it through your television. :D

Awesome machine..
that all package accessories for el cheapo plasma cutter included air regulator, Festo air regulator?
"in action" pics or video if you already works with it please:bounce:
video + pics will follow ;) no Festo regulator :( "Cheap" brand regulator
A Festo regulator would be more expensive than the plasma cutter

don't know the newer comes from, maybe China? anyone here have an answer?
yes, new ones from China.... :)

Been looking at bench grinders. Anyone familiar with Scantool/Kef Slibette? Looks to be a Danish company-do they have a good reputation for quality?

Don´t know about their bench grinders but their belt sanders are quite common over here and sold through industrial dealers, sometimes rebadged (as "Berg + Schmid" for example). The stores often only offer the belt sanders so i can´t say much about the bench grinders.

http://www.sax-online.de/shop/Bandschleifer_GRIMAX150_531.htm

http://rietsche-gmbh.de/produkte/schleiftechnik/scantool-bandschleifer/

http://www.satbgmbh.de/KEF-Bandschleifer.htm

I guess the quality will vary depending if you buy a lower priced Scantool hobby models (probably not made by scantool in Denmark) or medium or higher priced Scantool/KEF machines and 2 phase vs. 3 phase.

This one definately looks like quality :)
http://www.satbgmbh.de/KEF_PSD14.jpg

For european made bench grinders you also could look at Creusen from Holland www.Creusen.nl All of their grinders are made in Holland except the cheapest model # "4000".

Now I understand the utility in the design of this kind of wrenches

Bosch GSA 10,8 :)
nice ! Do you already have other tools in 10,8 Volt ?

I saw that the GSB 16RE wrote made in Switzerland and I thought the same applies to 13RE.

No trouble at all. I figure -it's not so bad at the top of an extension where it's out of the way, and it only cost about £5 +shipping

It's a very nice solution. Especially since the price was so good.

That's really nice also - I could be persuaded to buy one if they're not expensive :)

It's not very expensive but either cheap. Here in Greece the price is 21 + VAT for the 1/4 drive and 25 + VAT for the 3/8. (If I remember correctly).

Wow looks great! I have a set of Facom (of course!) ratcheting stubbies with the bit-adapter. I also have a dedicated Facom bit ratchet. The bit ratchet is very handy (I built a shed with it!), but I think the larger stubby with adapter would probably be a bit stronger.

I don't believe that a 10mm ratcheting wrench is stronger than a 1/4 ratchet (unless you mean the mini bit ratchet).
But you can use the adapter with any combination you want. Stubby ratcheting, Normal size no ratcheting, extra long, deep offset etc.

I love the offset screwdrivers! I've only seen small photos of the Gedore ones - and it's hard to appreciate when you can't see the detail. I have a few German-made Format versions (look to be the same as the Wiha offering) - just the slot version as I can't find either the philips or pozi by Format or Wiha for anything close to a reasonable price.

Yea the offset screwdrivers are really nice. Once I met a bolt to a husvarna chainsaw that was accessible only with an offset slot screwdriver. I can take a pic if I service it again.
5Euro for the Gedore 1-2 (plus VAT).

Thanks for the action pics. I have some Stahlwille shallow offset and a Hazet deep offset wrench. Gedore looks more like the Hazet. the Stahl has the I-Beam profile and is very light due to this.

You welcome. Bart Ι also believe that the Stahlwille are unbeatable. The Gedore would be nice too if they had adopted the same beam profile with the No7. (But not so thin of course)

Nice set.

for the price you won´t find anything better... or go with lower quality like B+D.....but thats not really an option :)

Lower quality is not really an option as you mention. ;) I always had low quality power tools and now i have nothing. I'm trying to save up the money for a decent drill and angle grinder a few months now. The angle grinder became Gedore deep offset wrenches thought. :lol_hitti

no :)
the lower priced drills are from Russia nowadays.
The first series of the GSB 13 was made in switzerland but thats years and years ago....

8bac1b1110e1.jpg

For "Made in Germany" + cheap there would be a Kress 550 SBLR-1
http://www.kress-elektrik.com/Power...ce_pi1[catUid]=33&tx_commerce_pi1[showUid]=39

The made in Russia is fine.
I didn't knew that all the kress are made in Germany. Thanks for the tip.
Ι finally chose the bosch since I have try it once and I like it.

Gedore 18mm open end wrench i bought for the drill press vise:

Niiice!!!

nice impact driver!!!
...
Thanks for the stories and awesome pics..really nice bag load with nice tools :beer:

Thanks.

honestly..Zebra is the most comfortable to my hand  the Ergonic good too but it just not perfect to me I think:)
sure I will take some photo later..
where do you bought your Wurth Zebra, it easy to purchased Wurth tools in Greece, still remember the actual prices:drool:

I bought them from here. Yes it's easy to purchase wurth tools in Greece but the price isn't very good. Actually some of them are overpriced. I don't remember the price that I bought them, but it wasn't so good.

sure you are Gedore guy:thumbup:
Great looking wrenches!! awesome pics thanks to shared:thumbup::beer:

Thank you very much.

Awesome:bowdown: that truly Gedore guy:thumbup:
can you take a pics of your new No.6 and the old one?:bounce:

I don't have it anymore. I bought it for my brother.
I don't have any No.6 (yet :D). If I get some then it will be some weird combination such as 10-13, 13-17.

if you decided to purchase electric drill maybe you should check this:)
Metabo SBE610
...
not sure this one comes with the same prices tags or maybe a little bit expensive compare to .as I know the old Metabo SBE610 said made in Germany:bowdown:
I think it the good for money and a great choice for someone who is looking a "multi-task" hand drill:)
don't know the newer comes from, maybe China? anyone here have an answer?

Ahh this is a really very good drill but a little expensive for me. I can't find it in a good price. I don't check the prices in German ebay though.
Today I found the bosch that I posted in offer with a case and some nice multi construction drills, so.. ;)
I had asked Monte for the new Metabo coo and told me that they are still made in Germany.

That a great solution..

..and the better:thumbup:

Awesome Tools in action pics:bowdown:
thanks buddy!!! :

Thanks mrtools

Nice action pics. VW Golf MK3? Or is it a Vento/Jetta?

Bosch has many factories in the world. The manufacturing location varies depending where you live, for example my GSB-16RE is made in Brazil, and how screwdriver for small jobs is acceptable.

The suggestion of mrtools is very good: Metabo is Made in Germany (at least in Brazil) and Metabo SBE560 is little difference in the price of a Bosch model GSB-13RE.

Good acquisitions in both cases.

I decided to buy a corded drill. I think that this is nice for general use. Any suggestions? .....

yes the GSR drill and the torch thats why I ordered without the battery was quite surprise when it came with the lboxx inlay because it said that this was not included and costs extra normally. I guess the next items will be 18v. I want to replace my makita drill with some bosch stuff plus maybe a new jig saw or impact drill.

Yes, sorry that exactly what I mean.

5Euro for the Gedore 1-2 (plus VAT).

Not bad - seems cheaper than Wiha anyhow. I'd like to get 1-2 and 3-4 in both Pz and Ph eventually (I only have the slot version now). Looking at Wiha a 3-4 Pz or Ph costs as much as entire pack of their standard screwdrivers.

Decided to go cordless, as it seem I use the rotary tool allot, so I get a 12v Li Ion from dremmel. The nice thing is I can use my bosch 12v charger to charge this battery, but the housing lock is different on the tool so I can not use the bosch battery on the dremmel.

I have this drill. Bought mine on ebay lightly used for around £30. New I think is around £80. I think it probably is made in China (the label only says "D-72622 Nurtingen, Made by Metabo"), but it's an excellent drill- smooth, plenty of power, easy to control and nicely balanced. It has a quality feel even if it is made in China. I suspect it would be hard to do much better for similar money.
Thanks God..they still maintain the quality even those they produced the drill in China:thumbup:
btw: thank to share your experienced regarding Metabo drill:beer:

I love it... haven't put it to use yet... I will be using in the next few days to pull my alternator out tho! :)
Don't forget to post "tools in action" pictures :)

You might already know this, but the company Western Forge made that adjustable wrench. It's easy to tell from the little "WF" marking. WF is one of only a couple companies that still makes adjustable wrenches in the U.S. and they supply them to lots of companies.

http://www.westernforge.com/

WF is now owned by Ideal, which has been buying up tool companies in recent years. They own WF, SK and Pratt-Read, for example.

I would have bought that at Aldi or Lidl (most likely Aldi I think). Label is a bit worn, but looks like Bruck or Brueck or similar.

Thanks Cliceu. :)
