(from the 2013 catalog)
nice!!

New foam modules arrived yesterday for my 3/8" and 1/4" drawer. A step closer to organising everything, but a bit more work to do. Here's a pic of the drawer now, with most of the duplicates removed. The box at the top right is a rotator ratchet set:
can we have the pics of your rotator ratchet and the tools inside Koken red box?

C.O Öberg & Co
Bahco did bought them in 1965, don't worry, I got me covered...
There are file forms that you did not know to exist, and that is why their old catalog would be amazing to see. there are 24 different models here in table, and with each one got multiple grade and size. there must be thousands and thousands different kind of files made pre 1965.
Awesome
thanks to shared a pics:)

the "Made in Germany" is missing so they´re not perfect :D
you right buddy!!!!!

oh no only the real Belzer.... :)

I had the same thought. On the other hand, a hole for the hook on the wall is practical. I made home-made loops of thick wire to hold my Weras.

I do not use hanger boards so for me holes are not a plus. I'm even a bit glad Wera doesn't have them. Post some pics of this holder?

Some KTC for drum brakes jobs.

What is the lowest tool for? The one with the bent tip.

Todays purchase:
IMG_0194.jpg

A Wiha made Wisent bit driver, Made in Germany. They are expanding the Bauhaus in my town and had a sale on old stuff. These seemed to have remained since the OEM change for Wisent drivers (they're now Weras) and was on sale, approximately €9 instead of €30. But I must say I was not impressed with it. The shaft adjust/remove action is very rough and prone to sticking. Perhaps it will wear in a bit and become smother though.

It's a Germany made Belzer, collectable item and very rare to find it, I need to find all the Belzer tools here and keep it in the safe place.

If that makes you mad, wait until you see this:

i-QXF4JBd-XL.jpg

old style 600N Hazet that I ground the jaw on, so I could hook the ring end of another wrench to it and turn it into an extra long wrench for more leverage.

If it makes you feel better though, I had already bent the wrench trying to get the bolt undone, so it was already a wrench that needed replacing before I ground on it.

Things are about to look drastically different here in a few weeks when a 5 tray box arrives, but here's how things look right now and have looked for a bit. By no means all my tools (for one thing almost every tool in here is a select portion of a full set, with the rest of the set elsewhere), but this is a set that was built to do about 75% of everything on BMW and Mercedes prior to the current generation when torx and e-torx became much more plentiful.

Soon I'll have a 90% box, an 8% box, and then a 1% box in a big old Bucket Boss bag that I have.

i-krT273d-L.jpg

Only 3 tools in there are not from the "old world" - the Benchmade knife, the Craftsman Professional wire strippers, and the spark plug gap tool.

EDIT: er, 5, forgot that Bondhus is made in USA.

Fellow old-worldies, I need your help!

I would really, really like a set of Wiha SoftFinish hex screwdrivers (preferably Magic Ring, but I'm flexible). They only seem to be available in the UK from Wiha and a couple of other places that sell them individually (expensive!).

Does anyone know of a source in the UK, or Europe that sell a set for a reasonable price and don't have extorionate shipping?

The American Wiha site sells an 9pc Magic Ring set for just $52 USD. If I order from RS, the same sizes without Magic Ring would cost £61, so nearly double the price

EDIT: Amazon US sells the set for $39USD!

KCToolCo.com has good prices and a wide selection of Wiha too. I'm on my way out the door, so I can't look up the particular set you're looking for, but check there.

Cheers - I need availability to the UK though. I did find I can buy them on Amazon's US site and shipped for cheap (£39 delivered).

Here are the got these days. They're not many, but were ... sort of missing in my toolbox. But I actually don't carry that big "Pelican" snips in the box. Here they are:

New_Tools_002_zps50a17577.jpg

FatMax 0-10-778 utility knife - Made in Taiwan of course
Brennenstuhl 1297150 electronic tester - Made in China :dunno:
KNIPEX 40 04 180 grip pliers
Rennsteig 175 mm x 7 mm "schaber"
2 x Rennsteig center punches
Rennsteig 300 mm flat chisel
Bessey 102-250 "Berliner" tin snips
Bessey 118-300 "Pelican" tin snips

Rennsteig_Tools_001_zps3fda7b6c.jpg

The chisel and the bottom center punch are, or I should say were lacquered (stupid idea), and some idiot in the store taped the price tags around them. It took me some time and some ethyl alcohol to remove the glue and so the lacquer came off too.

BESSEY_Tin_Snips_001_zps746997d6.jpg

The "Pelican" is ideal for long cuts in sheet metal. One downside - no opening spring, but I'll find a suitable one.

I needed a smaller grip pliers for my toolbox so i got these. They're nickel plated and man, they look awesome!

Here compared to a cheap chinese pair.

KNIPEX_40_04_180_003_zpsc0a642b2.jpg

I needed a new utility knife. This one seemed a good idea. It's not bad. There's space for extra blades in the handle. Only the lid and the spare blades holder are plastic. Everything else - metal. Except for the rubber of course :D

With this you can lock the blade so it doesn't wobble.

Rio Grande is a well known jeweler's supply, so those pliers (and all sorts of other items) are rebranded for them.

Their German pliers seem to be good quality, I know some jewelers that use them.

I'm in the market for some... Considering NWS micro-line, Knipex, or anything else I can find... Lindstrom is pricey compared to these brands.

Very nice. Apart from being lovely and shiny do they feel/work exceptionally well? I placed an order with Conrad Electric today and nearly put these in my basket.

Well ... to be honest I don't use grip pliers very often and I can only compare these to the cheap ones above. The teeth of the Knipex are dull. The teeth of those chinese pliers are way sharper. The Knipex are really comfortable and have enough power at the tip and also holds hex-profiles very good. You can see teeth marks on the Rennsteig center punch above. I've tested them holding 2 4 mm thick metal plates and I'm pleased with the result.
The upper jaw of the Knipex is 35 mm long. It grips up to ... 25 mm square profile, 32 hex and 35 round (I read that here - http://www.knipex.com/index.php?id=1216&L=1&page=art_detail&parentID=1364&groupID=1452&artID=1547).
I say again I bought them because I needed smaller grip pliers for my tool box. It all depends on what are you gonna use them for. There are other brands too so you can look them first and then to decide what is best suitable for you. :dunno:

More pictures of my tool collection.

Nice!
