does someone know the last years Hazet mark their tools with W. Germany?

hello mrtools, thank you for your warm welcoming note and for all your instructive and interesting posts(by the way, do you still maintain your electrical blog?)!

could you check what that orage-ish 'swiss made" screwdriver is and if there's a Hazet 7mm hex t-handled driver in there(if such a thing existed, of course!)? thnaks! :D

speaking of old Hazet tools, i just got something a bit older, kinda like an "old old tools from the Old World-ish" kind of tool:

I need that.
Needle nose owes for metal splinters. The screw driver to get the grease outta finger nails. And the box cutter for metal splinter that are too deep.

Nice guide:thumbup:
do you have the dimension?
please click this PDF and look at page 16 + 17 since they have 8 different versions :)
http://www.augusta-heckenrose.de/images/augusta_website/pdf/katalog09_komplett.pdf

The plastic version is the cheapest for about € 3.- , the dimensions are L:250mm, W:48mm, H:68mm

sweeeeet !!!! I love these old HZ tools with the black handles !!!:thumbup:
German reunification was on the 10/3/1990 so the tools are made before october 3rd. 1990 (or maybe on that day or even days later....?)
on the other hand....there is a car parts store which sells wheel chocks, they are brand new i swear...and they still say " Made in W. Germany" .... sometimes you also see products with a "Made in [] Germany" (Where thew "W" simply was ground away from the mold and you see a rectangular "box" instead of the "W")

a made in China one! poor finish, chrome-marring sharp edges, almost non-existent knurling, inadequate and uneven broaching and already rusted inside...

nice ratchets !! :pimpflash unusual....but nice :)

french markings: "imported from Germany"!
.....didn´t stop the french from buying german products....:lol::evil:
btw. i see this marking often on Bosch tools from the flea market :dunno:

Give me the address of that shop, I'll be on the next flight to Malaysia:pimpflash I love the old black handles and trinamic screwdrivers

Seriously, the W. Germany mark was phased out gradually as dies got replaced. They first started the process in 1990. But the change was not made overnight. I have a 1/2 sliding T in a 900 socket set which I bought new in 2007 which is still marked "Made in W.Germany"
If it is marked "Made in Germany", you can be sure that it was made some time after 1990, But if it is marked "Made in W.Germany", you really can't be sure. But a good guess would be 90's or earlier.:dunno:

Close up pics of some of sockets that I refurbished.

The 28mm socket has seen better days. One 27 mm Gedore socket was almost entirely covered by rust.

i dunno ... :) maybe something which don´t exist anymore so there is only "x" amount of tools to collect since no new tools come to the market anymore.... maybe i would look out for Dowidat and Belzer.....
...but if you come across some Hazet, Stahlwille or Gedore..... :)

Still waiting to see who has cheapest rebadged nws then =)
Assuming they all the same quality.
....the ones from the flea market and Ebay... :) ;)

I picked up a pair from an ebay seller who was auctioning off Proto VDE rebadged NWS for £9 (inc P&P). Since Proto isn't really well known there was no demand for them.

ok, guys, i've ordered some nice Japan-made stuff from Levelchrome and, again, some postal deities along the way were against me...

I wish there were more japanese tools here in Denmark...very nice!

Gardening season started this weekend in scandinavia - seams like the frosty nights are finally over. First BBQ dinner this year...but the grill was nasty, so I had to persuade my son to do a clean-up. Nice tools made it easy...
