My dads old version of the koyama pliers made in JAPAN

Cool, thanks for sharing. :) 3 peaks pliers are readily sold in Australia?

Monte,

Nice vintage cantilever box. I like the wooden handle...I bet that's not offered by Gedore any longer?

Belzer Polynova....I was just looking at my one and only 17 x 19mm double-box tonight. It sparked my interest once again as it really is a nicely made wrench, especially for its time. Like some vintage Snap-on wrenches, it has a thick, round beam. Aside from the modern X-beam wrench, it's the most comfortable wrench to pull on. A thick round beam is probably too cost prohibitive for our times now, unfortunately.

Hi!

Hammers PX brand - donno anything about it:
3tpCd

Nice. Have you used these yet? And would you mind sharing where you've found those?

Just got myself a 1lb. Footprint one. Likely to be old stock 'cause last I heard Vista had taken over all hammer production from Footprint after the latter had gone into voluntary insolvency. Unless of course they rebrand them for Footprint.

test video will be heartily welcomed!
Here it is :D extra for you !! One hour of scraping rust !! :D

I want to do the same...
To take it apart: I think I will grind off the rivets with an angle grinder. But the more difficult question...: how to rivet everything back together after disassembly and painting ?

I like it too :) That's actually why I bought it....the wooden handle :rocker:
Unfortunately they don´t make them like that anymore.... in the 1992 and 95 catalog they´re listed.
With 3 compartments, with 5 compartments and a long 5 compartment version:

The Würth (= Fein WSB 25-230 X) is absolutely top notch, the best money can buy !:rocker::bowdown:
It has "Constant Electronics" ?

Sneak peek:
Looks promising ! :rocker:

for the re-riveting, methinks a disposable or brass washer might do the trick as long as we don't use aluminium rivets... :)

yes you should :) why do you hide all the good stuff ? ;)

Nö.....and i do not miss it, cause the Würth beast is strong enough ! ;)
ahh ok ...I thought... but 2500 watt should be strong enough :) ever tried the Flex "Red Bär" ?

got me a NOS "Rahsol" 1/2" dr. bit socket set:

aren't those the ones sold on eBay.de by sopomarkt24?
(had to use a "google translate" link 'cause for some reason eBay kept showing me an error message saying that those could not be displayed legally to french users... happens quite regurlarly now... :() anyway, they don't ship to France or anywhere else except Deutschland und Österreich

too bad since they do have some nicely priced Gedore stuff, better than amazon.de(maybe not so good on shipping though...). :(

Hi

Nice. Love that Toyo box.

Bought <s>from</s> on Rakuten?
My friend from Japan supplies form me tools. This time he bought this box with the tools on auction.

"PX" is the series. "O.H. Industrial" is the brand. :)

According to their literature, the faces are hardened to HRC 44-50 on the blunt side and HRC 35-55 on the pein side.
Thank you very much for information.

Nice. Have you used these yet? And would you mind sharing where you've found those?
Nice hammer!
I haven't used my for now.

no, i do have some to cover my needs and a Bondhus metric inserts set on order too from amazon.com... but i wouldn't mind a couple sets of Festool long bits(17.49€/ea.):

bits100mm.jpg

a set of Gedore blue punches(12.99€):

austreiber-1.jpg

and a blue Felo, Gedore-branded, quick-releas bit-holder(only 9.99€!):

bithalter698.jpg

of course, only at their actual respective prices(or, better, if you can find better prices)!

if you find a cheap, even used, Wiha/Festool Centrotec handle i would be quite happy too... :D

Flea market find: Dowidat locking pliers:
i like that view, looks sturdy and a bit minimalist regarding finishing...

(at least it's not a 3/4" Dowidat rat or i would have been very tempted! :lol_hitti)

anybody got thin-walled swedish-made Momento impact sockets and can do a long term usage report on 'em(agricultural or industrial setting preferred)?

Monte; on the air tools. Do you guys run personal air compressors or are you running air tools of a central air compressor? I understand that you rent workshop space. If personal air compressor, do you have pics you can share?

No experiences, but I think it is a tough and robust angle grinder without any gimmicks.

The (non european) Milwaukee AGVM 26-230 GEX/DMS is also a very interesting machine...... if I had a little to much bucks..........:D

hi supe,
not everybody has his own compressor . I think there are currently 4 compressors in use from the main people in the workshop.

one guy has this 2 cylinder "silent" Boge compressor:

here is another one hidden, "Herkules" brand from "Bauhaus", 2 cylinder:

there are other compressors but I don´t have any pics yet. The compressors are quite small and ok for impact wrenches but not for longer tasks like sand blasting.

I have 2 but they´re defective: (but were for free)

this small one from "D+L"

...and this Käser

...with 200 liter tank:

Hah. Why must you post pictures of those!? I'd gladly pay a lot if you ever find another source... but right now I'm stuck on PB Swiss. I've used that IP15 driver at least a few hundred times and the tips are still very nice. I'll probably buy more when I get my paycheck :) Also, I just got a 3$ raise today so that won't help my tool addiction :D

Nice signature too! :)

I think it could be from before 1963, where the Radius blow lamp factory, Sweden, closed...just a guess, but it looks like the special tool, you get with a Petromax lamp. A Radius blow lamp:

Arrivals this week; some Hazet trays and a Gedore tray for existing tools, and a few pliers to add to the collection. Had hoped Knipex circlip pliers may have fitted in the Gedore tray, but not really...

What are your recommendations for hydraulic jacks made in the old world? I am after a 1.5/2 tonne one, low entry would be useful but not imperative. The only things I can get locally are all Clarke/Sealey made in China jobbies.

I've seen AC Hydraulic, but can't seem to find a decent supplier in the UK.

Any other recommendations are received gratefully :)

(Added text to the picture:
Hansi: Zo, how long time did I zpend this time ?...
Gerd: Zhat was only 34 minutes...a new record!
Hansi: I will write it in my Petromax log-book, and celebrate with a Prinzen-rolle cracker...)

 Funny, that the wrench is still on sale!
Regarding the Petromax, what they don´t show on the picture is that your shirt is likely dripping from sweat after the work needed to get it burning.
First you´ll pump the pressure up, then pre-heat with ethanol, or use the "quickstarter" powered by the pressured kerosene (this will release all the pressure from the tank, so you must pump it up again). After some attempts, you´ll learn it, the hissing sound is really nice in a strange Greenland Patrol way, and it has the power of a 75 watt bulb. As it was intended to be used - emergency and military - it´s great, but it will never give that cozy light like on the pictures. There is no option of "dimming" - it´s full power or none, since the vaporizer needs the heat to keep the pressure up. But truely a fascinating thing...

yeah when I first saw that tool I thought Festool/Protool !

....or Metabo.... :)

The GSS 23 is NOT from Switzerland.... The GSS 230 are made in Switzerland
http://www.bosch-professional.com/de/de/schwingschleifer-101287-ocs-c/

The larger Metabo sanders are still made in Germany

or you could look out for a discontinued Kress sander made here: (about €130.-)

Mafell is made in DE too but cost more than Festo....

you also could check out Rupes from Italy or higher end sanders from Makita which are still made in Japan.... iirc the Hilti´s are from Europe too

the coo also has something to do with the price.....

I bought a Makita BO5031 orbital sander and i was surprised when i saw that is made in USA. Is that common?

cozy's not what we intend to use it for, so "mehr licht" won't be a problem. :D
