Monte thanks a lot! Do you ever used a tool like that? Do you prefer the locking model or something like the Gedore one? A friend of mine want to make a fireplace air heater. The metal box for the air flow motor will be made with sheet 0,8 mm thickness. Are these pliers worth the money?
Sorry i never did. A garage buddy has one of the non locking models but i couldn´t find it in the garage today. He uses it for car body repair work.
here are some videos:

edit: Stubai offers them too:

I like those AMF clamps Monty. No doubt from the flea market they were somewhat cheaper than my Bessey's.
Some AMF hex keys - the long ones are nicely plated (nickel it seems)
cheaper yes (€5.-) but not better

the Besseys are more precise because they have machined surfaces and have a fixed angle. On my wish list since i have a welder but difficult to find for a good price

in case you ever want to sell them....
The Hitachi has no gimmicks totally basic, but it’s relatively small and light, very good handling.
The BOSCH is a solid and robust angle grinder, good handling without any weakening.
The AEG is solid too, with sufficient power and actually my most used and personally favorite. The only minus point is its weight compared to the others
btw. which model #´s ? i´m loooking for another grinder
Bad quality Gedore wrench

The wrench is No 7-XL 12mm
I have used it less than 10 times on regular car bolts and the open end started to worn
not dramatic...i can show you wrenches like that from about every manufacturer.
Hey guys, I'll be buying an angle grinder in the next couple of weeks and have narrowed it down to Flex, Metabo and Fein. Out of these 3 brands which one would you recomend from experience? Are they still german made? Also the speed without load varies a lot in different models. From 6k to 11k RPM. And sometimes the cheaper model would have higher no load speed? Anyway, any info would be appreciated. I'm looking for 5-6" grinder by the way.
usually the angle grinder speed is 10.000 rpm or 11.000 rpm. The higher end grinders usually have "constant electronics"/"Full wave electronics" which means the speed stays constant under load so they are more powerful and the others. ALL Fein angle grinders are made in Germany. The Metabo angle grinders in
this design are made in Germany too. The others are from China. Flex has a couple of german made models like
these and the
rat tail grinders as well as
this model. The others are from
China. All 3 brands make good grinders. Metabo has a wider selection though with features like "Autobalancer". It depends what you want to do with it/in which trade you are in to select the right power and maybe special features. I would recommend to check them out in a store if possible to check the ergonomics and to see which switch type you prefer etc. For a light weight/light duty grinder i would check out the imported ones because they´re slim, for a high performance grinder i would check out the Flex L 1710 FRA because it has one of the highest output power in it´s class (Flex 1400 Watt input/880 Watt output, Bosch 1500 Watt input/820 Watt output, Metabo 1450 Watt input/830 Watt output)
