@ monte

I'm not sure if Sylvac (Switzerland) has been shown on this thread. I get to use these every day, sadly not in my own garage, but at work.

Looks good, never heard of Sylvac before. Like that they are still "Swiss made".
Thanks. :)

In respect to the drivetrain, GM is out of it, and SAAB's new owners no longer have access to those systems. They got the body, related engineering (structural), and the factory. Not the engine, transmission, or electronic control systems needed for them to run, hence the negotiations with Chrysler.

Definitely a lot of unanswered questions IMHO, and makes me wonder if they'll really be able to make a real go of it, or if SAAB & it's parent, NEVS, will ultimately die off. :dunno:

I will get back with a translation of the swedish newspaper articles, if you are interested. But so far, not many technical facts are told.

Monte, do you have any specs on these? Cant help thinking that you´ll need a lot of power for a circular saw. My old Skilsaw is 750 W, and if it was with a 10,8 V battery, that would draw app. 70 A. With a 2 Ah battery, this would last for only 1,7 minutes. So obviously - less power. But maybe still enough for the quick jobs. I guess that these are made in Malaysia too? Btw. do you know what happened to the Scintilla S.A. factory in Switzerland, that used to make some of the Bosch tools?

yeah they have a lot, but i heard some bad stories about delivery time, but well, with patience you can reach every goal :)

If ChadsToolBox doesn't have the item in stock then it could take up to three weeks to receive them. Though the wait is worth it for me, as Chad's is the only place I can get the entire catalog range of certain brands.

i thought i could sell you a L-Boxx or Systainer :D but it seems you´re happy :) i like the idea that you can store two tools and even 4 batteries inside ! Usually there is only space for one tool and 2 batts....time to upgrade to Hilti ! :D ;)

Oh No, An L-BOXX is definately going to be mine soon, I need something to store these...

JG4_1295.jpg

nice ! one set slotted/PH the other slotted/PZ or the same ?

this one is on my wish list:

Both sets are the same, sorted Phillips and Slotted. For the price, I figured I might as well buy two sets :).

The Mtec nut drivers look handy, they caught my attention many times while looking for ergonic screwdrivers. What I'd really like to buy is the Wurth Zebra branded screwdrivers that are ergonic with the metal cap. Though they are impossible to get in the states unfortunately. Though whats on my wish list is Felo ergonic handled ratchet. If Felo made one in a 3/8in size I'd be all over it. I've been contemplating making my own using a Toptul ratchet and drilling out a Felo screwdriver.

Speaking of Chadstoolbox, I got another package in the mail today!

Can anyone tell company name? I cant find Strom tools from italy or anythink like that. I did find central tools from US but it is not the right company.

Hi.
Sorry for my rant. But I'm 100% sure that the real origin of Storm measuring tools is China. It is evident. Just look at the pictures, you'll see typical chinese style.
Those who stuck "Made in Italy" are very bad. Shame on them.

Looking good.
They must be pretty light weight I would assume.
circ saw: 1.4 Kg
jig saw 1.5 Kg
Rotary tool 0.6 Kg
(Weight includes 2.0AH battery)

yes:)
http://www.bosch-presse.de/presseforum/details.htm?txtID=6571&locale=en

it´s just a small saw with 85mm blade and 26,5mm capacity like the Makita

yes i guess made in Malaysia or China.

Bosch just announced the Scintilla power tool factory will close until 2016 and the products (jig saws etc.) then will be made in Hungary....

That circular saw must be tiny. Look at the handle (battery) vs blade.
i guess it will be about this size:

i think in this case the Felo handles might be better since they have a hole so you can use a screwdriver etc. to apply more force since they unfortunately don´t have a hex bolster to break fasteners free. The handles are also bigger for better torque transfer.

Maybe a bit patience and they´ll make a 3/8" ratchet :)

very nice tools !

Is the CLPK33-120L kit available in Germany?
I mean it is only 189$ in the US...

here are different tool kits available but not that one it seems
http://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_trks...t&_nkw=bosch+10,8+tool+set&_sacat=0&_from=R40

the current promo flyer:
https://www.bosch-pt.com/bosch/bssportal/de-DE/boschactions.cfm?action=service

your local Bosch BSS dealer might have other sets for example a set with the saw and drill or with the radio. multitool, drill and saw.
the easiest would be to start with the Bosch "clic+go" set i think.

Why do the US get 12v Bosch and we in Europe only get 10.8v? :dunno:

And what about those low prices on Amazon.

10,8 Volt = 12 Volt
they´re identical. Different marketing...

Same situation here in Denmark... I guess the deal is that Bauhaus don´t want to pay full price for the tools, so their suppliers must find ways to make the tools cheaper. So maybe Gedore got some hammers custom made in asia for Bauhaus? Same thing with the Matador tools, more imports, less Germany. But just a guess.
Hmmm... maybe i should buy one of the german made Haberos...there was 5 left, when I was at the local Bauhaus last week.;)

Do you know who the OEM is ?

how good is this simplex hammer compared to habero?

it´s the original soft face hammer with replaceable heads invented in 1938 . It´s very good. I have 2 of them and a Wiha which is good too.

at least the DIN stamp and a manufacturers logo must be in the head......?? strange..... They don´t carry Habero/Gedore hammers over here for years anymore....i bought mine in june 2004 there and shortly thereafter they switched to "PRC" made hammers....
the red handles of the hammers are/were supplied by Peddinghaus iirc. Maybe the complete hammer is now from them or from their cheaper "Cados" line ??

drilling out rivets...

Hello,

Was clearing some old tools and come across this:

What is it called and it's use. No idea what such cutters are called or used for. The blade positions can be adjusted.

Those are clippers for either Piano wire, or Glass and Tile. Starrett manufactured two different designs in two sizes for each. That pair looks like it was probably made for Piano wire due to the smaller throat behind the blades. Last I checked Starrett still made those. They were available with either tool steel or carbide blades. The blades were designed so they could be removed and resharpened, as well as adjusted to compensate for the sharpening. The notches also allowed the blades on the glass/tile version to be adjusted for different thicknesses of material. I believe that's one of the really old Starrett designs. This is the webpage showing the piano wire version.

... receiving my torx socket set 8802T/8H with holder last week from Hazet. They have a new Tin coating printing in the special world wide catalog. But only one of the screwdrivers was perfect, two of them delivered in the old style and the rest are looking used. I am very disapointed ... for your information Hazet has old at stock and after they sold out it we will receive the new TIN coated
:shocking:

What a bummer :( If they advertise them as TIN coated they also should sell them like that.....

Speaking about Hazet, I've sent at least 2 different contact requests last weeks by their website, but didn't get a response still... Customer service doesn't seem that good. Anyone with the same complaints? How to get in contact with Hazet?

What do you want to know? I'd contact a dealer, like GJ member jensputzier.

Monte, I broke a Hazet screwdriver prying off a hub cover just like that! My dealer (mentioned above) sorted me out though.
