Found a few more "old world" wrenches at one of the local Swop shops. Picked them up for around $1 a piece.
A few spanners from Elora, Dowidat and Hazet. The two Hazet imperial sized spanners are to work on my old British Ford ******.

The middle spanner badged "Mercedes Benz" is made by Dowidat. I think this spanner is way cool... Hope to find a few more down the line.

12" shifting spanner from Dowidat for $6. Just needed a good clean of the 'teeth' set and is now as good as new.

what Metabo do you use at work ?Fein grinder wss125
we got it at work and not that its bad but imho my metabo is better. Quick Lock System does not accept an aftermarket rubber attachment for sanding pads. you have to buy a fein attachment. The Metabo is running a bit smoother has the better extra handle. Plus point for the fine is the longer and bit better cable.
I expected more for that price.
what Metabo do you use at work ?
did you see the new Fein grinders ? They ditched the quick-in feature and now sell the toolless "Fixtec" flange like AEG. Power was upgraded to 1500 Watt. Price starts at 109.- + tax, so the price is more competitive...
and all still made in Germany...
i guess most angle grinders have a hard life and willl die eventually no matter what brand.I was comparing it to my private w8-125 quick metabo that I had at this moment at work.
But lets see how long the fein will last. Metal department with all the metal dust will kill it probably one day.
hmm nice 1450 Watt...thats plenty of power !I already use a Metabo angle grinder.
This one and i find it very smooth working, no vibrations, well balanced, etc.
Compared with Milwaukee, Bosch, Makita, Kress and Hitachi the touch of german engineering is there, still present for an Made in Germany product.
Grinding and cutting is fun with this amount of power !

are toptul screwdrivers made in germany?
your english is pretty good ! At least i understand everythingWhen i want to cut a 5mm aluminium sheet with my Bosch angle grinder, 750W it doesn't work, also with a 800w Kress, so i bought this Metabo wich is "flying" thru the aluminium and as you said, is very easy to work with such a reserve of power and also with the way how is modulating the curent in dependance of necessity.
I am living in Galati city, a town with a Damen shipyard and they are using only Metabo grinders.
How are made Metabo tools are giving to user that feeling of a really professional tool made to last and to help you in any situation.
Sorry for my english![]()
i currently need SAE sockets for a 1961 Impala. I already have a complete 1/4" Hazet set but in 12 point, but figured out 6 point is better for smaller sizes.Monte-not metric 1/4" sockets first??? Didn't think you'd have as much use for SAE stuff.
I was considering a new grinder, never considered a Metabo till now!
d-drive-don't worry about your English! You have the desire to converse with us is impressive enough! Besides, we all speak the "language of tools"!![]()
yeah cool huhMonte, that key fob i must have! Really cool for us stahlwille freaks!
