Found a few more "old world" wrenches at one of the local Swop shops. Picked them up for around $1 a piece.

A few spanners from Elora, Dowidat and Hazet. The two Hazet imperial sized spanners are to work on my old British Ford ******.

The middle spanner badged "Mercedes Benz" is made by Dowidat. I think this spanner is way cool... Hope to find a few more down the line.

12" shifting spanner from Dowidat for $6. Just needed a good clean of the 'teeth' set and is now as good as new.

And as I was about to leave, spotted this Mitutoyo 0-25mm Micrometer for $8. Bargain.....

Fein grinder wss125
ckeptkujyxep9wmm7.jpg

we got it at work and not that its bad but imho my metabo is better. Quick Lock System does not accept an aftermarket rubber attachment for sanding pads. you have to buy a fein attachment. The Metabo is running a bit smoother has the better extra handle. Plus point for the fine is the longer and bit better cable.
I expected more for that price.

what Metabo do you use at work ?
did you see the new Fein grinders ? They ditched the quick-in feature and now sell the toolless "Fixtec" flange like AEG. Power was upgraded to 1500 Watt. Price starts at 109.- + tax, so the price is more competitive...
and all still made in Germany...

I was comparing it to my private w8-125 quick metabo that I had at this moment at work.

But lets see how long the fein will last. Metal department with all the metal dust will kill it probably one day.

Love what Santa brought me this Christmas, a set of Wiha nut-drivers. Goes with my screwdrivers now.

Picture is fuzzy-cell phone pic, but I just have to say, I am always amazed at the quality of Wiha tools, and the price. Just amazing.

I already use a Metabo angle grinder.
This one and i find it very smooth working, no vibrations, well balanced, etc.

Compared with Milwaukee, Bosch, Makita, Kress and Hitachi the touch of german engineering is there, still present for an Made in Germany product.

i guess most angle grinders have a hard life and willl die eventually no matter what brand.

hmm nice 1450 Watt...thats plenty of power ! Grinding and cutting is fun with this amount of power !

started my 1/4" socket collection from Stahlwille with the 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" sockets: :)

and got some advertisement materials too: :)

When i want to cut a 5mm aluminium sheet with my Bosch angle grinder, 750W it doesn't work, also with a 800w Kress, so i bought this Metabo wich is "flying" thru the aluminium and as you said, is very easy to work with such a reserve of power and also with the way how is modulating the curent in dependance of necessity.
I am living in Galati city, a town with a Damen shipyard and they are using only Metabo grinders.
How are made Metabo tools are giving to user that feeling of a really professional tool made to last and to help you in any situation.

Sorry for my english

Monte-not metric 1/4" sockets first??? Didn't think you'd have as much use for SAE stuff.

I was considering a new grinder, never considered a Metabo till now!

d-drive-don't worry about your English! You have the desire to converse with us is impressive enough! Besides, we all speak the "language of tools"! ;)

Vessel P1 and P2 JIS screwdrivers from Levelchrome. Beautiful stuff. I did take a small file to the plastic edge on top of the handle as it felt a bit annoying. Just a slight rubbing and it was perfect.

The medium to higher priced Metabo tools are usually good !

i currently need SAE sockets for a 1961 Impala. I already have a complete 1/4" Hazet set but in 12 point, but figured out 6 point is better for smaller sizes.

ps: Can´t go wrong with Metabo !

Monte, that key fob i must have! Really cool for us stahlwille freaks!
yeah cool huh :D

Hello,
these days I'm thinking about buying a pair of pliers and let me know your opinions and / or recomendations on which I have selected:

Orbis
Mota
Toptul

Apart from that I intend to use it I would like to know whether the products of these brands are in the same category.

I take this opportunity to give my greetings this holiday season and best wishes for 2014!

Thank you!
Many greetings!

A couple of gifts from Xmas:

Lista drawer troughs. Just experimenting with layout here, and it's clear I need more of the wider troughs from this mixed set. I like them, but they may not be the best bet for storage-density if that's required, and I wish they weren't red (maybe not enough contrast with red handled tools). Black is available for their ESD line, but they're a lot more expensive:

Lang thread file set. I may go intentionally cross-thread something so I can try these out.
