Oh, oh, oh.....their lube must be the holy lube for all ratchets. :rocker: ;)
i thought Permatex ;)
Not bad at all, considering that's probably your triplet set that you're working on? :D
actually it will be my 2nd. :) At least thats the plan to have 2 full sets. :) There are some triplets and quadruplets of certain tools like pliers but thats another story :D
That better be a KTC-made Craftsman wrench or otherwise :gunfire: :D ;)
Genuine USA made
Sorry for spamming topic, but could someone help me find odur-fit pliers that can be purchased online and that they deliver in European Union? Thanks
iirc there is a shop in Greece...maybe Miskin or Lok can help. Did you already contact http://fit-zange.de/ ?

A remark: In Peru and in some countries of Latin America we call them French key to this type of adjustable wrenches and not necessarily because they have been manufactured in France :D
in germany a adjustable wrench is also called "Englishman" and this tool here is called "Frenchman":
sol_rollgabelschl_1.jpg

And a lock pick tool is a "poland key" or "polish key" :D

"Format" M10 machine tap with black oxide coating.
(supposed to be made by Guhring)
Finally no more cutting every hole 3 times by hand....just take the drill.... how comfortable :)

Got my Picard hammers in today. I went over the handles with very fine steel wool. They come with a very dark brown finish that "feels" thick. From bottom to top it's a small/large crowned round/round, flat square/round shrinking, flat round/curved chisel.

The two nubs are a new set of faces for my 12 oz Vaughan soft faced hammer.

Hi Superautobacs,
I found these at a local car accessories store - they don´t do much in tools, but occasionally they have a "used tools bargain" box. One tool 10 DKK, 10 tools 50 DKK (10$). Most is really worn out and rusty ****, but i found my Koken ½" ratchet there (needed oil), a Bacho (Sweden) screwdriver, and these Kamasa sockets. I think they dropped a complete set in the box, unfortunately only the depicted ones were left. A friend of mine owns a complete set in same style (in a green metalbox, marked "made in Japan"), and this set is from around 1990.

Thanks.
Would you be able to snap a photo or two of your friends' set with the box? Right now I have no clue as to who the OEM of those sockets would've been. Just maybe, a look at the box and the socketry items contained in it may give me some clues. Do your sockets actually say "Japan"?

i thought Permatex ;)

But this one is applied by a syringe.....it's oh so professional looking. ;)

Two sets for the shop..one for the cart, which you already have, and another for the work table, right? How about a set for the home and a mobile on for the car? :D ;)

I've only ever done 6 or so drill/tap procedures so I'm not very knowledgeable....when you use this type of tap on a through-hole and proceed as your photo depicts, I'm still imagining that you have to forward/reverse/forward/reverse as you tap the hole, right? ....or are you saying that you don't have to do that....just drill, tap, and done in one forward motion?

BTW, what are you constructing....a new welding table/bench, or a tool cart? It looks nicely made.

Nice to see a Brazilian No.1B .... one of my favourite combination wrench designs.

That trick, Monte does, i think is possible only for open holes. If you try it to a blind hole you will break the tap or ruin the thread (unless you have some kind of gift, you are a ninja or Jack Norris :lol_hitti). The machine taps are made for CNCs where you can stop the tap exactly where you want and reverse it. I have destroyed countless taps...:D

Stahlwille Combination Ratcheting Spanners OPEN-RATCH 17
'available from June 2014'

No indication as to where they are made.
The Hazet equivalents ( 606 Ratcheting Combination Wrench) are not made in Germany - obvious in the catalogue by omission of the 'Made in Germany' logo/label

The reverse button is similar to the Kabo style & the size chart is identical.
It seems Kabo Taiwan is the OEM.

Thanks.

I´ll check if he still owns the set, next time i visit him. I´m not that shure, however, that the box did say "Made in Japan". My memory could be confused with old photos i´ve seen, when i did truck-related adds for Volvo Truck dealers many years ago (Kamasa was their "house-brand" in those days..). My sockets have no COO stamped; They could be taiwanese.

Nah, just a hobby that I don't get to do as much as I'd like. I bought some Martins, but was unhappy with the fit and finish. I returned them and got some Stahlwilles before figuring out they're just rebranded Picards with a 30-60% price hike. Returned my 2 Stahlwilles and got 3 Picards for the same price, lol. :eyecrazy:

If you can not find another solution I can send you one. I think it cost 12 euro + VAT + postage. I don't know who much the postage are but I don't think it cost more than 5 euros by normal post. I believe less than 20 euro for all. I can ask if you want.

No, @Monte do you think that they will ship pliers if I contact them?
i dunno but i think maybe they can give you a dealer adress in your country or they could send them directly to you which would be the cheapest way i guess. To contact them was not sucessful in the past though...

lol yeah you´re right

yes one for the red cart, the other for the rolling workbench/work table so 2 people can work together or individually.... ok forgot about the home set  which will be stored (in the future...) in a Gedore cantilever tool box or Hazet Assistent and the car set which will solely consist of USA made tools and be stored in the Craftsman tool box i got from my secret santa :)...ok ok but i think 4 sets are enough :D;)
The real deal. :)
;)

yes just use the proper "core drill" like 6,8mm for a M8 thread for example, drill the hole and then use the machine tap and simply drill through. Only works for through holes though. For a blind hole a cordless drill might work (??) I´ve not tried that though but maybe it works and the clutch engages or maybe not and you have a problem
Fein offers hand held electric tappers which might work if you are fast enough (push the machine and it drills clockwise then pull the drill and it immediately spins counterclockwise)
BTW, what are you constructing....a new welding table/bench, or a tool cart? It looks nicely made.
Yes it will be a welding table/metal working table for multifunctional use :) 2 vises will be installed, a shrinker/stretcher, metal shear etc. and also will be the storage for welding equipment, clamps etc.
some pics of the construction:

beautiful !

@Monte:
Is the "Frenchman" so-called because it goes both ways?
lol i guess yes :D
nope i don´t know - i guess somebody from france invented the wrench.

mmmmhhh delicious

how many teeth are in the new 5087? and how does it compare to the older one with the green handle? thnaks! :)

Well the head is thicker and it's quick release but they still have 36 tooth.

SLXQmAt.jpg

But the new one has a locked position, put the direction lever in the middle and the ratchet won't turn either way.

The Gedore 3093U-10K has the same feature.

Nice. Is it as smooth as the gedore?

After some lube its almost as smooth as the Gedore.

But its hard to beat the smoothness of a Gedore ratchet only some of my Hazet and Koken Zeal ratchets are smoother.

Is there a reliable easy way to test the drag of ratchets?

wow... a bit on the heavy, german-engineered, well-constructed side! :eyecrazy:
36 teeth will do so it could be a nice set for traveling as the sockets look good too even if a bit too shiny for my taste... :D

But the new one has a locked position, put the direction lever in the middle and the ratchet won't turn either way.
nice touch too... :)

methinks that is a good thing if it's almost as good as the Gedore ones.

Hello Monte,
maybe you can try the 14301A in 13/16".
It is also thin walled. But keep in mind that it has not a plastic shield and a narrow shaft.
thanks i think that one will work

Love this Beta box, however it seems it is discontinued... :dunno:

It was probably still available 4 years ago when that was posted

I had a stack of Beta, and it was OK, but not remarkable in any way. I bought it all at sale prices, and sold it when I realised the money I'd spent would have bought me 50% more storage area in a new Lista box.

Before - a bit more than £1000 and 30Kg/drawer capacity (pretty standard - I think Halfords, Clarke, Gedore, Hazet and most other boxes are the same):

and a Hazet Tote Tray 190L-1 , made in Germany; although not stamped anywhere on the tray, the new Hazet website states the COO if it is Germany ( as per the print catalogues)

A Hazet plastic tray 600N/8PL for combination spanners ( thought it may have been good for some old Sidchromes, it wasn't)

Stahlwille 013/6KH made in USA
and a smaller Stahlwille 013/6KH Made in Denmark (!) now discontinued, into which my old set of Sidchrome combination spanners (from when they were made here in Oz) fitted nicely.

While I lust after Lista, the 200kg tray load seems like overkill; they now have a 75kg tray loading series too.
The best thing with the above is the 10 drawers!

Q: what was the approximate shipping weight?

I have a few Allit.de tote trays and they look identical. Allit.de is probably the original manufacturer.
