I've been looking to replace my - now ageing - Facom 40 spanners with something that is equally relatively short and having comparatively thin open ends.
I have a mis-match of 4 generations from sets and individuals I bought over the years, but a few sizes have "disappeared" over the years and since they're now discontinued ...
So I stumbled on this set: Carl Walter 280 PH, 5.5-22, 24, 27, 30, 32 and 34.
They are a tad shorter in the smaller sizes, and a bit longer in the larger ones. Open end thickness is virtually the same.
Just need to find a 36 now, and hopefully it wont cost more than the 29 quid these cost me.
Booooeyy............you're brazenly !!!.....

They are, they feel well balanced and are very well finished - though they're obviously not mirror polished chrome. The only drawback is that the size markings are harder to read, but nothing a bit of tyre chalk can't mend. Those are really nice!
i am in love with them
went searching, there is a version with 8 drawers 97N/8 (sold in amazon.de http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00OHPQK76/ but not in the stahlwille catalog, which is weird...)
now i really want to have one in all colors!
Good news!up to 70% less vibration

Do you get a mirror like shine if you polish aluminium parts ?Steel and Aluminium. Current small project is one of my (now 4) Tough drill presses.
All the handles and bare steel bits to polish before a final coat of Renaissance Wax. The castings have been stripped (tanked or blasted) and painted. Old school, the round knobs are all lead.
Aluminium/alloy is usually restricted to an Alfa Romeo bits (1967 AR Guilia Sprint GT Veloce), cam covers, timing cover, sump, bell housing, gearbox, brake slave cylinder...

D) What is this? Proto, USA.
Found it: A screw starter..? It has a spring that can be tensioned, so I think it can hold a slotted head screw?

I tried that yesterday and it worked fine. It holds the slotted screw very tight. Sadly the slotted screws are not used much anymore (philips or even torx).
Fein didn´t answer my question. Maybe tomorrow.... but i guess that the expensive 4-speed model will be german made, the 12 volt multimaster too but the other tools are probably imported (?). Maybe made by TTI like the 18 volt tools.Monte, my German is not the best, is this new 12V series made in Germany?
Do you only change the polishing compounds during the polishing steps or do you use harder/softer mops for each compound too ?I aim for beyond satin. But with the right compound and buff I would expect a 'mirror' finish would be obtainable.
Not really a garage but we have a fair amount of mechanical stuff to work on

I´m not sureComparison of some deep offset Elora and Projahn. The resemblance is clear. If I had to guess, Elora is the OEM for Projahn wrenches. Maybe Monte or someone knows for sure?
http://www.katimex.com/index.htmlI am looking for german-made fish tapes. Any recommendations?
