TBS Aachen, I have had 6 orders in the last 3 years ( total c. $3500 AUD) from TBS Aachen, excellent source to buy from.

Also dropped in to say g'day on my way back to Mainz, on a day trip to Remscheid last year. Great shop. You don't get walls of Stahlwille, Knipex... in Oz

My first choice from my list of 752 suppliers, if they have the brand I require.

I've got a Stahlwille 14/15 set from TBS some time ago. Not everything Stahlwille make is in the catalogue.

I've bought from this company online over a dozen times and have purchased Stahlwille, Hazet and Gedore tools in person recently from there store so they are a genuine seller. They have some fantastic prices and I understand Stahlwille has a sale right now hence why the super cheap prices on some items.

I've seen them mentioned a few times on here, and everything I've read has been positive. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.

Thanks all for the feedback, have ordered a set of open box 14's and the stabil 20's.

Fein:

The new 12 (10,8) volt 4 speed drill/driver with removeable chuck: Fein ASCM 12 C - Made in Germany !

8x300mm screws in 2nd gear - no problem !

Monte, do you know if the torque setting is electronic or mechanical? I would presume electronic but it is in a different place to the 18V version so am curious.

Cheers

Bought a used Hazet 8816 ratchet (3/8). Here together with the 3/8 Beta ratchet I already had.

Cosmetic condition isn't as good anymore as I would've liked it to see, but at least it was already used a lot in the past:

Also gave it a clean and lubrication inside:

Another old 3/8" item is on it's way and then I'm still looking for a 3/8 Hazet breaker bar (8814) with chrom/metal handle. Then I also have the 3/8 collection (sort of) complete. :pimpflash

Cool to see a Ko-ken made Beta ratchet!
That Hazet ratchet has a nice action to it, too. Soooo much better than their standard pear-head ratchet.

I'd keep that as a loaner ratchet....just to see the look of confusion on the borrower's face. :D:evil:

Tell us though, why did you acquire that? Had the adaptor already but had no use for it.....so had to get the matching ratchet?? ;) :)

Nice selection of tools though. ...never heard of Wezu before.

PM sent.

I was wondering who actually made the Fein/Trumpf shears.

I was actually hoping for a wider range of Festool (or even Fein) cordless tools to make it to the USA, but I have given up waiting. I still have the C12 drill, which is awesome, but toting multiple battery systems and chargers is a pain, unless that one item brings something special to the table. The common USA market cordless tool combo kit vendors all offer a drill, but the other stuff makes the system work.

That Systainer based Festool vacuum looks pretty cool and ideal for small tasks... not to mention easy integration with existing Systainers. I can see one of those in the future.

Those Metabo reciprocating saws look very similar to Makita.
yeah if you have to carry the tools around that doesn´t make sense. In a workshop ok...but the extra costs don´t make sense either. If there would be universal batteries available that would be nice....drill from Festool, saw from Mafell.... :) For a whole system (depends on what you need) i nowadays maybe would look at Metabo since they offer all the basic tools as well as a large metal working array and you also have access to Mafell cordless tools because they use the same batteries so high quality woodworking tools are covered too. For systainer users the vacuum is a must have :D ;)

Monte do you happen to know the model of that makita?

Makita DCM500Z

It has a mechanical clutch

YIKES.
Better start saving my pennies!
yep !! :D

does that makita coffee maker charger batteries or does it have the option to run off a battery?
it runs off a battery or AC source.

Bought a used Hazet 8816 ratchet (3/8).
beautiful ratchet:pimpflash

I really like the idea of a compact 10.8v angle grinder - I hope Makita brings one to their line-up.

it´s a fantastic idea ! even brushless !
Makita is probably busy to replace their 12 volt system with the new battery style...:
http://toolguyd.com/makita-cxt-12v-drill-impact-driver-combo-preorder/

Makita needs to upgrade the 10.8V battery line, to 2.5 Ah and 4Ah, first of all. :)
they upgrade to a new battery style:

I heard the stick type battery will be discontinued... ?

Too bad that drill is made in china
surprised ? :D

i think the higher end tools are the XFD07Z or LXPH05 ? But i don´t know ...Makita has way too many drills and it appears like there is a new drill coming out every month :)

Haha ya they do. Top impact is xdt09z (dtd148 in japan) and this one is made in the motherland. The xph07 hammer drill is china made. The saw is xsh03z is the one to get.

You have to register as 'bag tester' and give them your opinion and suggestions. The first 100 testers get the flashlight as a Dankeschön :)

Are those CDX drives now discontinued ? On smaller ratchets the weaker square drive is normally the first thing to shear.

It looks like it is discontinued when i search the Dutch Facom site :headscrat
I bought 2 ratchets in a clearence sale (dirtcheap:D). Had to buy the drive converter for the full price. It was no problem to order the converter through a Facom dealer but could be old stock.

Here is something you don't see every day;

Floor cutter from Sweden. They don't produce these machines anymore and many professionals do not even know these machines excist. This is my old machine from 1984, but I have one unused machine from 1980's

Örebro GH-10 with two 250mm rotating plades with speed of 3500rpm/min and internal vacuum with 6500rpm (this machine produses A LOT OF MATERIAL) can be run with 220v or 380v system.
This machine can cut 0mm to 10mm with one go and no nail or paint is issue. Floor in this case is 200 years old.
Basicly anything can be made to nice even floor if; You have enaugh wood, floor is not loose, this floor had +/- 10mm, it was planed two times.

.....and they use different model numbers in japan, USA and Germany....Dammit Makita :wtf::D

Ooh Monte! A USA made tool here. Is that not "blasphemy":D

Cheers, Jasper
:) it´s just the chain i think ! ;) (maybe the bar too ? Made by Oregon ?) Don´t worry the rest is made in China :D

Monte, any word about Fein possibly replacing their ASCM 18 QX drill (or maybe even the whole battery platform)?

Local US dealer is having a sale on them for $169 USD w/ two 4.0Ah batteries! Seems almost too good to be true, the vendor is pretty well respected though.

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=303606
crazy price !! For that price i would add a couple of them just for the batteries
I´m not sure... the drill was introduced in september 2013 so i don´t think it´s time to replace it...maybe 2018 :) Maybe they don´t want to sell the brand anymore or just this product because it don´t sell well ? Maybe 5 AH batteries will be introduced ? I dunno.....:headscrat

another one for the screwdriver collection....: CK
