You can now buy more tools duty free im you live in the USA.
The threshold for duty free imports to the United States of America was raised from 200 US$ to 800 US$. If the invoice value of your order (tools plus shipping) is below 800 US$ you will not pay any import duties. This is valid for one order per person per day.
President Obama signed the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015 on February 24th, 2016.

So now you can buy even cheaper at http://www.jensputzier.com

Good news! What's the import duty free market the other way around from us to Europe?

Nothing too exotic here but wanted to share my "drawer'o'Knipex". Always love reaching in here for just what I need.

Also a while back I picked up an IKEA Alex 6-drawer cabinet to put in one of my rooms. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out the label on the bottom said "Made in Germany"! For the price, never would expect "Made in Germany" and "Assembled in the USA" :D

I know a shop that has 70 of these Heyco socket set ( drive 1/2'' & 24 piece )

Nice. Here is a used set and a little bit different. Still use them sometimes when I need a 12 point.

Anyone know the quality of Elora ratchets? The general trend on here is that they are not as good as their spanners/sockets but I want to try something different to Hazet/Stahlwille/Gedore.

I have 2 Elora ratchets both round heads with the push through drive, in 1/2" and 3/4" they are old fashioned and quite course but they work well and are strong. Don't have any experience with a more modern type.

Yeah, all of the older push through stuff is good (from all the German brands). The few times the newer Elora stuff has been mentioned on the net has all been extremely bad. I.e. teeth wearing out in less than a year.

Might opt for Koken as well as everyone seems to rate them highly.

Here, Elora is one of the most popular brands. Because it is very durable.
Like dutchgray me too don't have any experience with a more modern type.

Karcher K4 Full control:D
nice machine !

Hi Monte,
You are right you can get snap-On. I cant get snap-On. The last tool truck you linked operates close to my work and I have spoken to him before. We're I live no tool trucks otherwise I'd probably hassle the guy a little more. ( I work 1.5 hours from where I live)

The all require a business license in order to sell to you. As a consumer I do not have a business license. So I if I want I am reliant on second hand. Considering I can get new German tools without the hassle …

Yes I can get both Makita and festool nearby and fein at 25 minutes. Festool is awesome albeit pricey.

On my festool wish list are a shoe sander and a track saw. It's amazing how little vibration the shoe sander from festool passes on to your hands.
ok i didn´t know that the money in Holland stinks :) In Germany i can buy Snap-On stuff if i want. At least from the dealer here. But german tools are a good option ;) I don´t know how the dutch offline Festool prices are but the ebay.de Festool prices are pretty "good" in the meantime... :)

Yes eBay.de is great for power tools. Have to paint the house this summer so the shoe sander may get bought.

Like I said snap-on is a hassle. I think the truck sees me as a consumer the same way. Without me having a business license they have to deal with the btw / vat / gst. Which they are probably not set up to do / want to do for the occasional spanner / ratchet. That said I have seen plenty of threads here of American prosumers chasing tool trucks around town [emoji13]

Tbs delivers to the door [emoji3]

Love the lableing!

Isn´t the shoe sander too small for a whole house ? :) Or just for window frames etc. ?
Just keep ordering german tools from TBS. :D Much easier + faster. Bauhaus and Hornbach also have a few good things though..... :)

Speaking of delivering to the door hassle free...

The DHL bus brought goodies from Aachen today

Monte's post spurred me on to abuse the dymo at work....
nice goodies !

Is TBS Aachen closed or something? I can't get any communication from them. I feel like German companies always have terrible customer service for some reason.

Nice Decaf!

I got my PB Swiss drivers, really love how the gold and black colour theme matches my other tools.

I think they were closed for easter holidays. Send an email to [email protected]. If you still have issues try again and ask/ write to Mr. Rainer Kleine-Tebbe, I think is the owner/ director.

My only wish is that I'd found this forum years ago. The amount of tools that have been thrown away because I didn't know what they were.

These cutters currently reside in model making box:

This was a lot more than Friday and Monday. I've been asking them to charge my card for the order for over a week now, and of course they waited until the euro was at a high point to do it. Also charged me the wrong amount.

For years Norbar didn't put the CO on their torque wrenches supplied to and rebranded to other companies.
I could never understand why as they are made in Banbury near Oxford. Even wrenches supplied to a big UK chain-store like Halfords didn't advertise they were UK made and that spares are available. Instead they sat on the same shelf as Chinese **** which was almost the same price.
Bizarre given they are the largest torque tool manufacturer in Europe and their fixed torque products can be found in many factories.

3/8th 20-100 Nm 72 teeth switchable and 1/2" 60-300 Nm 60 teeth push through which I use on wheel nuts.

The date code is engraved on the handle end. 2005 on the 3/8th with what looks like a model sequential serial number approaching 1 million.
The 1/2" is 2006 134,000
