Nice blue Gedore there.
Really Digging this setup! Nice man! The Fluke really stands out.![]()
I've seen a fair bit of the Indian stuff over my side of the Atlantic, hardly any of the German stuff apart from pipe wrenches though.Been meaning to ask since I noticed this the other week. Brother gave me a few old spanners some weeks ago, and one of them is a Gedore, (bottom one in the photo).

Since when have they been producing stuff in India?
Lots of great stuff in there, and so clean! You've prompted me to clean my shitstained toolbox this weekend
I thought I had too many strippers![]()
I clean and polish tool after every use, and being hobbyist/DIYer they don't see much use anyways.

I will say in general the Indian gedore I've seen is among the very worst looking tools I've seen
I agree with the wire strippers, I will post some pictures of mine later on. I do clean my stuff, but overall, everything still manages to get gunky and yuckyI clean and polish tool after every use, and being hobbyist/DIYer they don't see much use anyways. Different wire strippers for different wire gauge/thicknesses. Can't have too many.
They were apparently pretty common in North America during the '80s, everyone seems to agree they were of horrendous quality. Quite a few Americans seem to still believe Gedore is a trashy brand because of it

Definitely not! I'd pick the cheapest chinesium money can buy over them. You're not a fan of them then. Not checked on the quality as yet. Was just surprised to see India stamped on there.
Belofte maakt schuld...
I'm sure I'm not the only one who dislikes manual wire strippers or butchering up their fingers and cables with a knife. So here's my modest collection:
Coaxial/telecom stuff:

The 4th ***** balls, but anyway.
Electrical: The dinky red and yellow pliers I've had since I was 10 (that's when it all began), Jokari Sekura 28H, Weidmuller Stripax, Weidmuller Stripax 16, Gedore 8099-1, Knipex 12 11 180 (like the stripmasters),
The 2 Weidmuellers I got sometime ago secondhand; €15 for the pair

They've got some interesting features you don't see on other stripping pliers. The orange handle covers come off for smaller hands, the wire cutter can be closed off for repeated stripping without accidentally cutting into neighbouring wires and there's the facility to leave the insulation on stranded wires when stripping so they don't unravel before you fit them with ferrules. Useful for serial work e.g. when wiring up a cabinet.
And by now, you have the best garden in the world. Pictures please.
i wish....but unfortunately not They´re a bit slowI'd love to know why Bosch don't make a dual, independent charger, as others do though. Be simpler than having to get multiple, single chargers.
nice tool (-box) collection !

They´re a bit slow![]()
iirc i read in the Bosch forum that they´ll make dual chargers soon....but for 12 volt and 18 volt... at least something....![]()
Modest collection?? Very nice indeed, I like them Weidmuellers, and nice score. Being constructed entirely of plastic, how are they holding up? I was looking at the Knipex version the other day, but it felt flimsy, so I put it back.
I also have the Gedore VDE 8099 - 160 H, similar to the one with blue handles pictured above, which I have no clue how to use![]()
I have the Gedore 8099 too. Absolute garbage.

Hello guys,I have the Gedore 8099 too. Absolute garbage.
I've heard the south African gedore is quite high quality, anyone have experience with it?

Does anyone have experience with German made Elora tools? I've got a set of their double open ends I love, never seen anything else from them. Seem to be very high quality

They were used, from a Craigslist seller who I buy a huge amount of stuff from. He puts aside anything German for me. I'd guess they're at least 30 years old. I like them almost as much as my hazets, and that's saying something

Unfortunate to hear they went down in quality.... The stuff I've got is definitely hazet/snapon equivalent.
Generally the only new hand tools I buy are proto and knipex. But I've been very tempted to replace my assorted set of wrenches (all good stuff, but not matching) with a set of new hazet. Hard to justify though...

I've considered them, and stahlwille. There is just something I really like about hazet tools, and close to half of my current set is older hazet. I really like the feel of their wrenches, even more than my mac and snaponYou might wanna take a look at Gedore, in my opinion they are just as good as my Hazet but a bit cheaper, not by much though.

Solid tools. Unfortunately a bit underrepresented.Does anyone have experience with German made Elora tools? I've got a set of their double open ends I love, never seen anything else from them. Seem to be very high quality
Never....Anybody heard of SpeeDrill from France?
Where did you find those ?Borrowed from Audi !?Some bland looking Felo screwdriver![]()
iirc the only riveters made here are from Gesipa. This riveter is only thing I have from Elora. Paid "Made in Germany" price for it, but it Doesn't say anything on it, not even "Germany", I am sure its made in China or Taiwan just like most of their stuff I believe.
Another Bosch 10.8V/12V piece.
Todays used pick up,
Should suit my tool cart needs nicely.
