Are any of you expecting to receive tools for Christmas this year ?

If you do, post them here so the rest of us can get some insight as to what to search for, or pass over during the after Christmas sales.

I'm going to be on the hunt to get a couple of ball peens and a replaceable/multi face hammer as soon as the Christmas festivities are over.

I doubt anyone in my family will give me tools. They give me **** like REI socks and stuff that I won't wear anyway, that doesn't fit, and that I then have to take back and exchange for the right size, usually at extra cost to me.

Mother-in-law gave me some cash for Christmas.

I went to Woodcraft, got these today, and thanked her when I got home. :bounce:

My parents came by today and dropped off this:

Both are nice to receive on all fronts. I have one of each myself ;)

The HF roll cab and top box is IMO the best bang for the buck available for a setup in that size range. I don't remember exactly what the weight capacity rating is, but mine is loaded heavy and has been flawless since I've had it.

Those little Titan gearless ratchets are as useful as a third arm and so far (had it about a year) mine is holding up well with regular use. It's my go to for tight spaces where a ¼ drive will get the job done.

Can't beat the price either, mine was $8 at Northern Tool on sale.

I keep expecting it to break into pieces every time I use it because it's so small, but it hasn't been anything short of excellent. I will pick up the 3/8" version for sure next time I hit NT.

I have had the 1/4 and 3/8 for a few years and they work GREAT, I use them a lot more than I thought I would when I bought them.

I can always count on my wife for some kick-*** tools...she knows me too well!! She was asking for the snap on Christmas flyer when it came out so I'm thinking that's a good sign!

I bought my daughter, Katelynn, her first tack hammer (USA made Olympia) (her momma got her a regular hammer), and I also bought her a Kobalt socket set (standard and metric) as more of a physical therapy tool, rather than for building stuff. We're working on helping her regain fine motor control, and I think the set will be perfect for her to practice gripping and manipulating objects.

I ended up getting a $89 5-drawer Craftsman roller cabinet (friction slides) from K-Mart on Black Friday. It's already just about full. Katelynn *wink* got me a 21 piece standard and metric full polish Craftsman Evolv wrench set. I'm going to put those in a road kit with a few other tools. You would be surprised how many times pediatric wheelchairs need adjusted when you're out and about constantly.

I picked up a set of Kobalt crossform and stubby wrenches (in metric and standard) for myself, as well as a new Black & Decker circular saw (on sale at Menards). After the holidays, I'll probably shop for a few more tools to outfit my workshop.

I also got the Kobalt crossform and stubbies in metric and standard. Two days ago my wife and one of my sons helped me unload and assemble a HF five-drawer red service cart. I am impressed with its quality for the $149.99 price. There are some photos of the assembly in my garage renovation thread.

Kobalt stubbies in metric and standard for myself. I doubt I'll see any more. I been getting all month, including a Ranger xlt. Spray in bed liner, toolbox, bed caps, mud flaps, and reverse/trailer hookup lights all for the Ranger. The F250 got a back up camera and reverse/trailer hookup lights.

i usuually dont get anything tool related as a gift. wife has no clue as to what i have, or may need.
she did get me a table saw for fathers day

couple weeks ago, i bought myself a new ir231, went out yesterday to a pawn shop, and a couple of "junk" thrift stores, picked up a used pin hammer & proto 13/16" comb wrench for $10.
so i'm pretty happy.

I got the snap-on tune up shoes for myself

My gf got me the craftsman prybars and the stubby gearwrenches when they were on sale, as my Xmas present.
Yesterday, I noticed in the mail that she got a Christmas card from a snap-on dealer, whom I have never dealt with. She says she doesn't know how it got there.
I'm hoping it was because she got me a snap-on present. I'll find out tonight.

Thanks. I found the whole set at a local pawn shop for $275 with several drawers full of tools. A drawer full of metric wrenches, a drawer full of SAE wrenches, 2 drawers of screw drivers, a small drawer full of Allen wrenches, a tap and die set, and a air grinder... Pretty good deal I think... :bounce:

I wouldn't mind a multi drive screwdriver, ***** only the online one came with the belt pouch for it.

I'm excited as hell for my leatherman!
