Do many of you have TV's in your garage? If so what size and can you post pics of where you have it set up at? I'm looking into setting up one in my garage just not sure on the size.

I've got an old ~27" tube TV that was left by the previous owner. I have a Roku Express+ hooked up to it, along with an antenna and and old DVD player. The DVD player doesn't get used much, mostly the Roku for streaming old episodes of Top Gear off MotorTrend On Demand for background noise, and the antenna is nice for catching a game or old re-runs of History channel shows off the Quest TV channel. If the tube TV ever dies, I'll upgrade to a flat screen, but for now its kind of fun reliving the old days.

In my last shop I had a small 20 something inch mounted over one of my workbenches. When my son would get home from school and come out to the shop we would kick it on and had a couple of shows that we would watch together while working, other than that I really didn't have it on.

When I built my new shop a couple of years ago I wired everything to be able to put a rather large flat screen up in the corner of the shop and also ran wiring down to the stereo so I could tie into the ceiling speakers. All of the CAT5 and coax is run from the house but so far I haven't bought a television and not quite sure now if/when I will as I usually just have the stereo on.

I have one hanging on the wall , usually it’s on but it’s just sound. I don’t go out there just to sit around and relax, hang out or visit, If I’m out there I’m working on something and don’t end up being able to watch it. Usually music works out better.

32"
used for entertainment and sometimes as a monitor for my laptop (usually when surfing GJ).

It is at the end of my small 10x22.

I have one. It was one of the first things I setup in the new shop. The plan is to move it higher up on the wall at some point. It's an old Plasma that I got for free... heavy son of a gun.

I have an old 20" flat screen that used to be in the bedroom that I'm planning on installing eventually. I'm switching providers today, so I'm going to ask the installer to run a line out there.

Went with a 32" Fire TV because it fit in the area without having to move anything. Added a sound bar. I usually have it on Football or I connect my iPhone to watch Foxnews

I have an old 37" mounted on the wall slightly above eye level. It is actually not hooked up to any TV signal just as a monitor for an old PC but more than good enough for youtube video's so I can try to figure out what I have done wrong.

Have two, a 42" and a 32". I used an HDMI splitter to feed both from the Dish connection. Both are mounted to articulated mounts so they can be positioned as needed. The 42" looks pretty small standing out from a 8' x 24' wall section. The 32" is about right for the work area. I had a 42 in there but it was a bit on the big side and got in the way of some movement.

No TV in my garage. I find them distracting. I do have a radio and tablet computer connected to speakers that provide sports, news and music.

I do plan to get one, likely one of the $199 Black Friday specials next year. I expect to use it a fair bit as a computer monitor that I will use to display .pdf versions of service manuals, so I want it large enough to see from a few feet away.

Other than that, it won't get used much unless the garage gets pressed into man-cave duty with the boys (which it does on occasion).

However, I do believe there is a law of nature that says you can't have a TV in the garage that is bigger than in the family room, so maybe I can use that to justify an upgrade to the fam room at the same time!!! We'll see how that flies... Lol.

I have a 40" extra flatscreen I left in the garage after hanging it on my hyd press this summer when it was cooler in the garage than the house. Now I use it to play movies or shows when Im just putzing around the garage. Maybe use it more once the garage is cleaned and suitable for a party environment.

No TV in my garage. I play the radio for background noise. I generate a lot of grinding dust in my garage. The radio catches a lot of dust, don't imagine a tv would last too long.

I've never had a tv in the garage/shop and would not want one in there. I am to easily distracted and it would only prevent me from doing what I went out there for. We have one tv and it is on to damned much anyway. I listen to the radio or the iPod in the shop.

Tv's are like penises. Can't be too big.

I agree. I have a 50 and think I want a 65. I need glasses for distance but don’t wear them when working on the car. The front center of the lift is about 15’ from the TV, so bigger would work better for me.

My primary goal when working in the shop is to leave it with as many fingers, and whatnot, as I arrived with. Having a boobtube would definitely increase the odds of failing at my primary goal.

Technically I have a TV in the garage but it's only used as a computer monitor. I don't watch TV in the house, I sure wouldn't want it on in the garage. I have it on a shelf about 6 ft off the floor which keeps a lot of the dust and dirt out of it. The fact that it's often covered also helps.

The computer in the garage is mainly used to stream music but a lot of times I don't have that on either if I'm doing something that requires concentration. I'm kind of easily distracted.
