Quite a Facom following on this thread.
Suits me.

I'm probably to blame for a big chunk of that. I wouldn't say I'm outright obsessed, but when they're on sale they're pretty tough to beat on the quality/value scale.

Late last night, resolve weakened by lack of sleep, I caved in. Damn you willhollin! Damn yooouuuu!!!!

Facom hammers arrived today - very prompt shipping. Great item fo rthe money as well.

They're marked "France" on the handle, but as we know now this really only means that 10% of the water used to grow the tree came from France. :D

That's great value. My 1 no. Estwing ball pein cost more than that (d'oh!) Granted it's all steel and my go to hammer but still, this Facom set is hard to beat!

To stay on topic, just look at this beauty below. Shame I don't have anything to apply this to, looks a bargain.

thats a killer deal. I am also already thinking if I should write them an email about shipping costs to austria.

No need to do that, the shopping cart automatically calculates the shipping cost to anywhere in the world up to 70kg. Just make sure you select Austria as your country within the shopping cart page and it should all come out correctly.

Best Regards,
Mark.

Question for the good Motamec folks. Why is VAT added when I choose Norway as destination? Norway is not in the EU. Expensive enough with the extra shipping cost I'd say. ;)

Also, anyone else having trouble navigating their site in Firefox? Works fine in Opera.

Having just bust my small riveter this afternoon the Beta deal was ideal. Just ordered some but the order process is a little weird as it showed £19.90 with delivery when I clicked on the paypal link but when the final order appeared the postage had gone up by a £1 for a total price of £20.90.

First post.

I have been lurking on this forum for nearly a year so far and thought it was finally time to say a big Hello to everyone. What can I say - it has been an expensive year so far.

Also, many thanks for the links to these deals.

So far picked up a few sets of the Bosch / Wiha 17 Piece Tool set, the 14 piece set of the Facom 440 spanners (to add to my Hazet and Gedore sets) and the 7 piece set of the Facom punches.

Well time for my first contribution to this thread :-

Knipex 14 26 160 VDE Side Cutters / Wire Strippers @ £10.99 on Amazon with free delivery.

http://http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0001D9JDK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

The correct price of these is nearly £30 so I can guarantee that they will not stay at £10.99 for long.

It is nice to see some of the bigger tool dealers contributing to this thread. I have dealt with both 'TradesmanChoice' and ' Primetools' and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Thanks for the welcome.

My delivery estimate is from the 4th to the 6th of September so it sounds like you may have got an error.

The pliers are now out of stock although you can still order them - back instock on the 1st of September.

Hi there
Our website is not yet set up to exclude vat for orders outside of the EU, we should have this feature working in the next few weeks.

If you want to order ex-VAT please contact us and we can do a manual order or if you order on the website we can refund you the VAT
Many thanks
Carwyn.

Hi Robbie,

Thanks for your order, hope you like the riveter!

We have had a look at our shopping cart but can’t see where you are getting £19.90, the total price is £20.90 through all the checkout process.

Please let us know if you see this again. (Our website is still under development)

Many thanks
Carwyn.

Hello North, Im the developer at Motamec.com, following your request I have updated our website so it can now process outside of EU non-VAT orders. Just select your county in the shopping cart and press "get qoute" it will update without VAT.

Thanks for the orders guys! Let us know if we can help in anyway.

North, any chance you could email me admin(at)motamec.com about the firefox on IOS issue you had? Thanks Cai

Thanks for the Amazon spot as £10.99 inc del for a pair of Knipex VDE side cutters is outstanding - ordered mine!!

All my Knipex (except Knipex locking pliers which I get at Conrad) have come from Amazon deals and at prices that pan everyone else.

Hi Carwyn,

The issue was not with the shopping cart. When you open the page for the product it gives you the option to order via paypal. At this stage no delivery price is quoted as I hadn't clicked on the basket. The paypal link takes you direct to the normal paypal screen and the price on the left shows you the product price and delivery and gives a total of £19.90. When you finish the paypal process it takes you to the shopping basket and the rest of the delivery process. From here it shows the correct delivery price and gives the £20.90 total.

I tried it again but going via the shopping basket before hitting the paypal button and the delivery price is correct so the error only appears with the paypal button on the initial product page.

Hope this explanation helps.

Could someone do me a favor and put the Beta riveter in the shopping cart, choose Norway as destination, click on 'Get a Quote' and report what shipping price you get? Thanks.

I meant to ask - were you using a particular search tool to find this deal on Amazon? I've used the one on MoneySavingExpert but it still takes ages to surf through tons of rubbish results, and rarely turns up anything good.

@ CanUK.

Thanks mate. That's what I get now in Opera. Earlier, when I could access the cart in Firefox, I got excl. VAT £8.3sumtin / incl. VAT £9.96.

I'll just contact them directly if I decide to buy something.

Just a guess, but wouldn't VAT apply on the shipping anyhow as it's a service taking place within (at least partly) the UK?

I've thought about that and could be.

(The real question though is why Bill Gates is messing with my browsers. :tantrum2: ) :D

No, just stumbled across it during random tool browsing.

My pliers arrived today - top service from Amazon.

However, I also noticed that Amazon have been sneaky and changed my original link to ones not on offer. I have updated my original link for those that are still interested in this deal.

New link also below-
