Well chuffed, should have got two sets really!

The carrying clip is pretty cool too!

I got the 3/8" sealed pear head ratchet too for £14 quid which is nice.

Did they send you the stack of flyers or had the penny dropped for them by then?

Bit of a shock to see the price hike in my watched items list!

Voucher system would be welcome, but I am still sobbing at missing the original (accidental) price.:Violent:

Ah well.
Robbie, I am really sorry for the price hike. But if you take into account the free delivery, this set is actually cheaper now on our main website than the original listing was on eBay.

Fair point, but don't worry about me as I keep coming back to you anyway as I have become a PrimeTools groupie!

In other news the Facom hinged socket spanner set arrived from this seller today:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380419667046#ht_500wt_991

They were not kidding when they said the packaging was shop-soiled as it is in rag order. But the tools and the tray are in perfect condition and I am well chuffed. These are a bargain and I see from the eBay sales count that I have been the only buyer so far!

They were used tonight on the wife's new Husqvarna Rider Mower to re-install the mulching plug. The wife liked the fact that she 'could angle the handle and not have to faff with attaching sockets and alike'. Not exactly what I had in mind but they have proved to be the first wife-friendly tools I own.

I am sure I will get my own turn soon…

Continuing on the flat ring spanner theme: From Tool Line (the fine folks who inspired this thread with the epic Facom spanner deal) you can get a full set of 7 Elora flat metric ring spanners (6mm-19mm) for £36.05 plus shipping.

www.toollineuk.com - search there for "Elora flat" - there is no "set" as such -you need to buy them individually.

Screaming deal on sets of Facom 59 series flat metric ring spanners (set 59.jn6 6pc 8-19mm). Sadly it only looks to be available to ship to Italy, but somebody here might have a useful hookup.

Get this - 26.91EUR or Make an Offer! If anyone does have a hookup that can ship them on to the UK sign me up :)

I think the "Please allow additional time..." message is a default - ebay sensing that I'm viewing the item from another country. Right above that it says "Posts to: Italy".

I don't think he actualy listed them on ebay UK - I just happened upon them as I was doing various searches across the EU -in the same was as I can bring up American ebay items on ebay UK, that aren't necessarily available to the UK.

Anyhow he' s showing as away until the 26th, but I might try and cobble together a message in Italian using Google translator to see if he'd send them.

Well it seems he's not terribly keen to send them to the UK:

"Salve per la spedizione nel regno unito vi costa ?.50,00"

I believe he's asking for 50EUR to ship a handful of small spanners? :shocking:

Guess the Italian is not keen on international sales. So much for the EU without commercial boarders!

They do look really great Robbie. I still have them in my watch list, but I just can't
decide if the vortex socket set combined with the deep offset spanners would make
these redundant for me. Really good purchase though...

Whilst the green is burning my eyes the Toptul set looks pretty good but not a brand I have used. I presume Toptul are a quality brand???

Hahaha yeah - I think the green is a bit darker in real life. Toptul looks to be quite good quality. I think they make the 440 spanners for Facom (theirs look quite similar) and I think they made the pre-"Expert" Britool sockets. Much of their line is offered in both polished chrome and the same satin finish that's on the Facom 440's.

I have a set of their female torx sockets, and 3/8" deep sockets and am very happy with both.

Also available is the extra long set, again from Vantage Tools...

Speaking of Vantage Tools, I sent them an email last night inquiring whether they can source Toptul product that doesn't appear on their website - flexi socket spanners etc. I'll post up with any reply of course.

If it helps anyone - I've placed an order on their website previously and it was a trouble-free transaction.

For international orders (Sweden in my case), is the only way to get shipping cost to place a order? There is no way to get an estimate?

There's loads of bargains on the Tooled-Up.com, but I just spotted on Quidco that they're offering £5 off of £50 + 5% cash back, or £10 off of £100 + 5% cashback until Aug 31st.

Now what can I find to buy for £50... :D

Great Thread - Subscribed.

It would be great if somebody could post the monthly SO deals when they come out. I work shifts so rarely see my Dealer and as I pay him in cash for anything I buy, he's not motivated to keep in touch. (I also think I may have a new dealer this year)

On the Facom tools question, I'd rate them at the same level as MAC, not far off SO, but some quirks (Part Plastic tool boxes mainly) mean they don't get the Banana.

Six whole pages before somebody mentioned Snap On - I suppose it was inevitable :(

Edit: Not a dig at you VolvoMan - just nice to have one or two threads that aren't about Snap On or Craftsman :)

What about a thread similar to this in the classifieds section so that we can keep all the UK stuff together?

Good idea but how would that work? No one but the thread starter can reply to a thread in the classifieds.

Maybe we could get an actual sub-section then - for both UK and Europe?

If the UK contingent was larger then a sub-section for the Brits could work. As it is, the appreciation of good tools is 'without boarders' and I like the international twist on the forum and would rather not be split to a small UK enclave.

I'd be happy with a sticky on this thread for now. If that gets bloated then perhaps a sub-section would be justified, but I think we will be too small.

We apologize for this and are currently working on developing the international shipping part of the website. But in the meantime, please email the items you require and we will be delighted to quote our best shipping rates.
