Are the cutouts required because the block is longer, or are you moving the engine further back?

The BBC is a little larger in most dims, but the heads are much wider and the roller valve train I am using requires a slightly larger valve cover. I am mounting the engine in the "stock" location. Same position as the small block.

Thanks. We don't learn much about V8's this side of the pond.:)

damn exciting couple of days.

Not that any one cares but the firewall modifications, custom headers and oil pan have the Big block nesting in very nicely. :rocker:

Maybe I missed this, but do you have the missing passenger side trim or is that still on the list to hunt down?

Really nice car, love the plans for it. Only thing I would've done differently is added a radius to the edges of the firewall clearance to make it blend in with the rest of the firewall, as if it came that way from the factory.

it is nearly invisible once the engine is in there.

blew off the bottom of the body and applied a rubberized undercoat. (this should aid in keeping some sound out of the car}

That gets me to last week.

The engine.

Starting off with a Mark V block.

Using a Scatt forged steel crank
Scatt forged H Beam rods
Icon forged pistons gets the bottom end and short block covered.

Up top I am using Edelbrock 118cc square port heads that have been CNC port matched to a air gap Performer intake. A Comp cams hydraulic roller cam, Comp cams roller rockers.

Will be firing it on the test stand this afternoon.

Somebody is having a lot of fun. Your progress is good and you gota love that rotisserie when you need to get under the car. the motor looks good sitting on the frame by its self.
You will be crusing it soon.

That’s going to be fun to drive. Nice progress
On the undercoating did you use just regular cans or did you use a system like lizard skin ?
