is it too late to get some consumables also? Sorry for last minute change of mind.

No, you can add some. Just send your request via email on what you'd like to add and I'll revise the invoice.

If you've already paid the invoice, send funds via "gift" thru PayPal at the cost shown on the first page.

Aquamoose,

So how are we doing? Getting a lot of invoices out and paid?

Getting a lot more requests for invoices?

I'll bet you could buy extra machines and people who missed this would snap them up. Same with consumables.

I am sending another email out to all those on the list who haven't made a request. It gives them the deadline. A few have PM'd back they were glad for the heads up as they either forgot or thought the deal was dead.

Sorry to anyone I have sent multiple PM's to, that have already paid.

Next I will search each person for an email to send a note to. Plus, each post to this thread brings it up to the top of the forum, as a reminder. Best I can do.

This is the message being sent:

Deadline for the Plasma Cutter group buy is Midnight (PST) on Friday, February the 13th.

If you are still interested in obtaining a unit, please go here and follow the directions in post #1 completely.

If you have decided NOT to participate, would you please drop a note to Sean, with your user name and number on the list to:

Thank You,

My main concern was related to my confusion over the different styles of consumables that are compatible with this torch, the much higher prices of the consumables I could find, and the seeming lack of availability of consumables overall. After a little bit of head scratching and extra research (along with some help from other posters in this thread) I was able to figure out better search terms to use in order to find multiple sources for consumables, torch parts, etc. all at much better prices. My initial hesitations related to this specific unit are now 100% alleviated.

And all your legwork has paid off for many who had/have the same question, assuming folks actually read the thread and you posts.
Which makes you a rock star for compiling all that info! :rocker:
Thank you for all that info!

Thus far, the updated count:

144 cutters paid for
63 cutters on open invoices(21 in the last 24 hours)
a few placed orders but can't invoice until more info is given.

Didn't count consumables, don't wanna, not gonna at this hour.

Looking forward to Friday, midnight......

Again,

Do. Not. Panic if you've already connected with me but your order isn't complete or can't get it paid by Friday. Breath & read the first post carefully folks.

I'll be back to hopefully just sort & post the paid notices.

Some China news: I'm happy to share with you that China has put in 144 cutters in the production queue and by the time they open, my contact will run out to the factory floor to update the count when they get the deposit.

Have a good Friday!

Heres where i'm confused...the initial buy in number was 120 units equals $192.** price. So why doesn't an additional 20-80+ equal additional discounts?

Don't you think that if there was additional discounts, he would tell us???? Its real simple, if you don't like the deal and think there should be more discounts, then back out.... The huge undertaking that this guy is doing to get this deal done is staggering... Then he has to listen to guys complaining about if there shouldn't be another $2 discount.....

That not a complaint, thats a question. How am i to know he'd tell us, maybe thats how he's making money on this, i don't know...thats why i asked. I paid ********, i can't back out.

Sure its a huge undertaking, but that is how how EVERY group buy in i've been a part of works....more involvement equals a bigger discount.

Here's where I am confused, how can some of you guys be so cheap. Quit complaining, Aquamoose has handed this deal to you on a silver platter and he is not making any money. I for one think that the group should have at least covered the cost of his personal plasma cutter. I have watched these threads and some of you guys are just plain arrogant, ignorant, over important, bastards. Luckily it is only a few people, but man those few make things like this painful to watch.

PS: A question would be, "Will there be any further discount if we hit a certain amount?" Complaining is exactly what was written.

No, complaining is what you two are doing. Now i'm cheap for asking about it, for fucks sake...i paid the man!

And strouty, that also is how every past group buy has worked...the guy doing it gets his for nothing or extrememly heavy discount.

That's a very good question, and something I wondered about too. If I was doing the negotiating, I would press the mfg. for better prices based on more confirmed orders. There are two considerations right now.

First, Aquamoose is doing this all gratis. I would really hope he could at least get his own machine and consumables for free. That would be the least I would expect. And extra money for warranty machines that he is going to get, are a consideration as well. Plus he is buying extra consumables.

And the paid for orders aren't that many over the 120. If all the invoiced orders become paid orders, then we are talking 207, which IS a substantial increase, but margins may already be low for the mfg.

And fyi, I am PMing the last 90 for the second time and have found 5 of the first 100 numbers who had emails, and sent them all a notice. Then I will go through the last 200 numbers for emails. All this is slow and laborious as I can only send 1 PM to 3 people per minute and have to search and look up each member so see if he has email. 14 have cancelled for sure.

I'm just trying to make sure as many members as possible get the chance at this. Many gave up after the original facilitator (Bob) couldn't finish it. Many think the deal is dead, or may think as long as they are on the list, they are OK, which isn't true. Some will miss out if they don't have email and don't check their PM's regularly. Doing my best though.

Frankly, I think it's a great deal, and I'm glad to get it.

If it were enough to discount them, even a little bit($5-$10) i would llke to know...i'd tell him to use that for himself instead of refunding. These other 2 clowns assume i needed to know so i could make sure i get it back.

All i ask for is transparency, which i don't feel is out of line....and don't feel we haven't gotten it so far. Thanks Aquamoose.

I agree about him getting whatever he can to make up for the work he is putting in. I'm retired and my time is worth nothing, yet this is filling up the last couple of days real good. And all I'm doing is sending PM's and emails.

He not only has to invoice and move money and update the list, but when the machines come in, he has to ship a couple hundred out to places all over the country. And he's charging no handling, just actual shipping costs.

I sure wouldn't do it.

And as far as transparency, I don't really care. I got in at a certain price point. If the market rises or falls later, let others make a little, or take a beating. What if his costs don't work as planned? It's all on him. Just my POV.

I'm more worried that people won't get in on it, so back to work sending PM's and emails......

This is a massive undertaking by Sean, and not many people would be willing to deal with all of the headaches that just naturally seem to come along with it. I'd like to thank him for agreeing to coordinate and execute all of this. Hat's off!

What was originally posted was not well written. Give them that. I saw it and was going to post that I am guessing we will have to wait until the deal is done to get a final price. He cannot keep asking what about 20 or 50 more.
But the responses were not much better.
We are all desperately waiting for "Xmas" and get our machines so we are a bit edgy.
