UPS actually saved me a headache with Sears yesterday. Sears sent me a return shipping label for an Olympia Vice I thought to be absolute $hit, this was after being told by a chat representive I could bring it back to a store. Well of course that wasn't true, as it was a vendor that directly shipped it to me, so there was a nice wasteful 25 mile trip.
So I repackage in the already junk box as I have nothing else with me, and tape the hell out of it & rid myself of it finally. I checked the shipping status 2 days ago and it says there is no one at that address. ummm, WTF? I have no luck getting a competant Sears rep to help me. The next day it shows it was delivered to another city in CA, but not the new address.
This is one part that UPS can go pound sand &then some. When I called with the tracking #, UPS would not give me the new address MY package was delivered to. They told me to contact Sears. Obviously Sears didn't know they moved as they sent me the label, and getting a hold of someone there that knows 1+2, well you know. Well a big screw you to corporate UPS on those two useless calls.
So i called the local hub in Cali, and the lady was so nice. She gave me the new address, and explained that typically I would have been sent the package back. But they actually looked at the package, and prior shipping information, and found Olympia Tools was in a nearby city and delivered it there (which is where it was supposed to go). It would have been 2 weeks of traveling across the country before I got it back to them.
Olympia Tools lady said the Sears return facility has been closed almost a year, and they are still printing UPS labels to be sent there. I wonder if Sears or the customers have lost more $ because of their ineptitude in this blunder.
