There is no plastic side latch on the new 44x22 like on the 56 and 72 inch box. This is no different than the previous 44x18 box which also didn’t have the plastic side latch.

There is no “Series 2” badge on the actual box. See picture on page 5.

Sales lady told me the new side cabinets would be 22 inches deep. She didn’t say anything about top box dimensions.

Glad here series 2 sticker just for images but stupid advertising like that.
Guessed be no plastic latch (would be a downgrade in some respects) and would be best they went proper drawer latch pull on the 56 and 72" box.
Assume top box will be 21.5", marketing details online are all wrong as usual, people running this HF show need firing as they friggin useless .

Hmm. 14 1/2" end cabinet instead of 18".

What gained in drawer depth lost in width by looks of it !
Not looking like much or any improvement on the 56" and 72" .
HF marketing is useless, all improvements (if any) want be pushed in marketing of the products ... plus the details on website have a lot of tech detail errors :-/

Yesterday, I went and looked at a Harbor Freight on the way home from working offshore.

I'm not gonna lie, they're a lot nicer than the old stock. I was seriously going to either buy a KRL722/1022 or Masterforce box. But I'm gonna buy the set from HF today or tomorrow. I like them.

This was from the HF in Montgomery, AL. Hopefully my local store has them in stock.

Also, I'm not sure why, but the 72" and 55" were gone. I think they're coming out with a series 2 for them.

I haven't really kept up, what is the basic changes from the old series to the newer ones? I heard they are deeper with out the plastic drawer tabs? What is the price looking at compared to the old ones? I think the old ones going on sale for like $370 ish, but it's been a while so I can't remember.

Biggest difference is the new box is deeper, not available everywhere yet, and a slight price bump

Yeah, it looks like the 72" roller is gone from the HF website. I could have sworn it was still there a day to two ago. I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on the NAPA Homak box, but would love to see if HF is coming out with a better version of the 72" cabinet.

The 72 was changed to "in store only" a week or two ago and gone now from the website.

I'm still hanging on to see what changes are made to the 56 and 72 series 2 and if they bring a 56 top back. I'm not going to buy anything until I know if they have a top.

I saw these in my local HF a couple weeks ago. Nice boxes, for sure. If they had the new boxes in JD green, I would buy one immediately. Just don't have any interest in a red toolbox.

Or I could invest in some paint, I guess. Maybe get a black one and paint the cabinet green and leave the drawers black.

I'd like to see if anyone else has had the chance to buy one or at least measure a store model. The store was way too crowded for me to get down to the 16th but what I came up with

41-3/4 W
22 D
33-1/2 H

That's for the box only, not the 'counter height' of the box with the wheels on it. I only need the box dimensions for a steevo bench, but my concern is where I measured the box width I bet I forgot to measure across the top to include the lips where the metal is bent.

Thanks in advance if you can provide measurements to confirm or correct mine.

I was in HF yesterday looking at the new box. No side cabinets, but they had the sales sheet advertised. No way I'll be buying them. They cut down on the width. I don't need depth on my ends. I'll just hang the old sides on the new bottom.

I was in there a few days ago, stuff looked nice. I wish they had the 44 in blue, I like red but every tool box is red, blue is a nice change.
Then again I don't really see myself buying any of them, I got a ****** Waterloo friction slide craftsman 44" and a 70's 26" top, I don't really think my mismatched tools really would be fitting of a nicer box.
