Richard I called C.A.S.E , that exists today. They do not nor never did make this type of compressor. The make high pressure stuff only. Here's the thing. I am looking to buy this for my shop. I do body work , but not a lot at home. He wants a grand for it ,not sure what to offer him. Or if I should just pass. Thanks guys for the info, and keep it coming . Oh and owner says it should pump 30 cfm , is that accurate?

The nameplate you posted says 566 liters per minute. That's about 20 cfm.

Realized I never posted this Binks branded 216 ROC19 here. Picked up for $40 last year, had to redo a bit of the copper line and replace the unloader but I love how quiet it is despite it's relatively low air output. I'll eventually do a rebuild and cosmetic refresh along with a 3HP motor and pulley change to get the ~10CFM it's rated for.

J4ZDS5n.png

Absolutely gorgeous! I do wish we could get deals like that where I live. For that kind of money you get cheap crapola to pump car tires...

Closest I got to get one like yours was last year, when someone was selling the pump only for $150. It had been posted for less than a day but was already spoken for when I called :-(

Replace that dinky motor and pulley with a 3HP, 15A 220V motor just like you said and provided everything else works OK you should have your wish granted if not more. From the RPM of the pump and its displacement you should be able to calculate free displacement CFM :)

I am trying to identify what I have here. I am brand new to the older compressor world, but I am already hooked. This is a 60 gallon horizontal tank, it came with 2 motors and this pump. I know it’s a wreck but is it worth saving ? Thank you for any input !

There's info in this thread about testing the tank, I would do that. I can't help with the pump.

I am going to test the tank, but trying to find out if the pump will make enough air to be useful. I am hoping it will

It's a single stage compressor I wouldn't expect a lot in the way of CFM or psi. It should be on the comp tag. I can't enlarge it enough to see the info. It blurs out on my PC. If I was running it, I'd use a 2hp 110v motor and keep the psi around 125. I don't have any air hog tools except my blow gun.

New member here. Anyways I picked up this compressor pump last night but I'm not having much luck finding any information on it. I want to put it back in service. I'm hoping somone on here can help me out.

This is a United States Air Compressor pump. A company called Collins Equipment still makes them. They look pretty darn robust.

New member here. Any one ever hear of a C.A.S.E brand compressor? Made in Grand Rapids Michigan. Any idea if these are good compressors and how old they are?

This pump is made by Schulz in Brazil. They were also sold under the Ranger brand name, and I think Champion used some of their stuff for their economy models before Gardner Denver bought them a few years ago.

EDIT: I might be wrong, and it could also be an old Worthington. Its hard to tell from the picture.

This is another small Champion pump. I don't know if its worth the money to repair, but a 60gal tank can take a pretty robust compressor, so that should be worth something to you.

I am having trouble making it out but it looks like the original motor is 3 3/4 hp but I may be wrong. The pump is smooth and has suction. I have zero experience wiring a motor, switch etc. I am going to give it a go though, I got a 2nd motor with it also, that I will post up later. Any clue what kind of cfm that pump would produce with a 2hp motor ?

I don't have a pic but once saw a huge, old industrial compressor at a large resale house. It had exterior rivets all over the outside, it reminded me of a WWI naval battleship or something.

One of the coolest things I've ever seen. It was like $3,000 or so. I've never seen anything like it since...

Any ideas what I may have been looking at?

I would go with that motor if that's what the tag lists. It may need the torque of the motor to keep the rpm up so the comp can make the most cfm.

I don't know the specs of your comp at it's rated rpm. I could only guess that it would put out around 5 maybe 6 cfm. I'm purely guessing based on similar compressors I have used or owned in the past.

I just have so little knowledge in this area, from the labels on the tank and under the actual pump, if the pump is original it appears it would be a champion 3z180, the motor label says 5k694 i think and 1725 rpm

Those are Grainger part numbers. Dayton is their house brand name.

Thank you, amazing what the right information can do, haha. This looks nearly identical to the pump I have, but over the years the lines and fittings disappeared. This looks like it though, to the untrained eye. If this is it, I definitely want to go through it and bring it back to its glory days

Look at the head. That is a different pump.

Look at this post, it is much closer.

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8176052&postcount=812

I was definitely wrong on it being that pump. I believe it is a Champion of some sort, I just have no clue about the 2 fittings on top though, but that isn’t saying much. There are several layers of thick paint also. I am going to tear it down and blast it and I’m sure I will be able to figure out what it is at that point. It’s a small pump, but it’s cool.

Look at the parts diagram from the post I quoted.

The "fittings" are the valves.

I just read that head looks so different because it is the constant unloader instead of the stock. I’m green, I know, ha and all the others I have seen didn’t have that unloader. I believe it’s a c1 from the measurements.

I am a newbie to this site and just got this 1948 Westinghouse compressor. My questions are:

1) How many gallons
2) How many HP / CFM?
3) What kind of oil do I need to use... current oil is green
4) What is the model?
5) Where can I find parts?

TIA for the help. I cant find anything on an old vertical compressor.
Scott

All of the tags should have the info you seek except maybe oil and weight. I can't get them to enlarge enough to read them. I worked for WABCO (Westinghouse Air Brake Co.) and rebuilt train breaking systems. The comp should be pretty stout unit. More than likely 30w oil is what she'll be happy running. Not sure what the green oil is about.

I wonder why the pics didn't load... I appreciate the info. Do you know where I can find parts?

Type looks to be C-22-26 but I can't find any info on it. Electric motor is 1/2 hp at 115/230 volts 60 hertz single phase. I can't read the amps rating but at 1/2 hp it shouldn't be that much. RPM is 1725. Rise is 40*c or 104F. I think that's operating temp. I'm not sure what the FR.G124 is about. The little cup below with the flap is an oil port. I don't know if it's meant to take 30w or gear oil. May be something else. That's all I can get from the tag.

The green might be synthetic compressor oil, although it looks like some form of hydraulic fluid, Like "Power Steering Fluid" or "Central Hydraulic Fluid".

Is it like 30weight or much thinner?
