I picked up this pre-war SK offset DBE over the weekend.

Also, I finally filled all the holes in my SK wrench board!

I'm not seeing the tab you guys mentioned? As I recall, I found adverts in newspapers for Western Giant socket sets as late as July, 1945. I suppose they could have been left-overs but it was in Western Auto store adverts.
I've only done a tiny bit of searching for Western Auto tool advertising so it's not surprising I came up short. Are you aware of any catalogs featuring tools exclusively, or are all their ads generalized?

Nice find. It is marked with Chrome Alloy which is a line of socket sets that appear to be be pre SKGot this unmarked beavertail with another set.
I have one 3/8” socket shown on the right side of the picture below. I think that the Brazil sets were made at the same time as S-K branded tools, sold as a private label or price line. Other than the Chrome Alloy marking it looks exactly like any other early S-K socket.Yes I have a few odd sockets, but no 3/8
Can anyone give me info on the “G” marking? Is it military like the Snap-On “G” marking is? Thank you in advance.
I understood that the Lectrolite brand went away in the SK Wayne era, so no Lectrolite branded tools would have been produced after 1962. This is what AA says, anyway.

Sorry to bump such and old one, but can someone please tell me more about that v118 ford socket? I have had a 4V118 (more modern, no knurling) for close to 20 years, NOS from a parts store I worked in.... We quit carrying S-K, and I found this under a shelving unit not long after that. Nobody else at work could tell me anything about it, and the boss told me I could keep it. It's never been on a ratchet, even has whats left of a price sticker, and I've never had a clue what the hell it was for. Do tell, guys....
Anyone know the first year of manufacture for 3/8 metric SK Wayne marked sockets? I assume the last one is 1968...
Are those stamped Japan?I have an update on my little partial Carb-O-Mang socket set. If only I could figure out a way to turn the sockets with it!
