Wow, that is a beast Covair. It is built very well for a open screw vise. Thanks for the link, adding it to the spreadsheet.

Gen.Fire. Ext. CO. 5" jaws that opens to 9" and weights over 106lbs. Possibly a swivel base, kind of hard to tell. Awesome vise.

KM, looks solid and should clean up nicely. The jaws line up really well and look to be nick free. What are you going to do with it?

If you are talking about the Hollands E4, then I found it for sale on e-bay. I am sure it is still for sale. Most of these vises are not mine, I add these to this thread to share with the vise spreadsheet.

KMScott, that's a bummer. I was using you as my vise shield with my wife, telling her "look honey, KMScott buys a vise a day, and I only buy one a week". Gonna have to find another obsessed vise collector to take your place :headscrat

Product, Don't correct the story, just don't use words like (''see there, he's bought another one").---Just say ''well, there's another one".---Remember, when you thought KMS was buying all those vises, you believed it was so.---In the words of George Costanza, ("Remember Jerry, it's not a lie, if you believe it").

You're not the only one using good old KMS as a Scapegoat.

Never seen one like this before. It looks OEM to me. Plenty of photo angles to verify no hole in front spindle for handle. I'm assuming there's no screw either. Ratcheting or cam action?

Very cool KMScott!

It has to be a Ratchet action Fierljeppen. I hope to get more pictures. Not mine sadly. I am just amazed in the quality mechanical actions of vises built in the early years. Reminds me of how industrial it was when I was a young machinist in the early 70's.

Another unicorn KMS.---You should have been a prospector or a geologist for big oil.---You can find anything.

Now you got to ask yourself, wonder just how many of those Desmond churned out?:headscrat

KMScott...The Parker no.16 vise is about as rare as they get for the Parker vises. I've attached a couple of photos of mine below. They were advertised from (1883-1914). You'd think there would be more out there, but I haven't seen any others.

You can see the difference of age, based on the clamping bolt. It's not nearly as precise of a jewelers vise when compared to an Athol or Prentiss from the same era.

jaw width 1-1/2"
jaw opening 1-3/4"
weight 2-3/4 lbs.

Possibly for the record:
Charles Parker #954, stationary
4" serrated jaws,
bar measures 6"
weighs 46 lbs.
Off the bench for a cleaning.
I see that most of the Eclipse series have a
distinct cast on the side of the dynamic jaw.
Feature, function ?

I was a little puzzled with that Wilton #6 Patent Pending vise with a 1951 date stamp until I stumbled on this early Wilton photo. Apparently they liked an enormous inventory.

Love that Athol no.703 that getridaone posted earlier!
