Re: anyone seen these socket trays?
First off I'd like to thank several of the members here for notifying me about this thread. Its cool to see our product getting some good reviews and attention. We are in the early stages of getting these out there, but so far the responses have been outstanding. We are working hard to get the website updated with more photos and information. But for now I will do my best to answer all of your questions and concerns, and maybe you guy and gals can help me answer a few that we have as well....
Issue with these is they don't fit thick wall impacts.
We currently have several sets of impact sockets on trays in our shop. I am curious as to what brands are not fitting on the trays? I am guessing the issue here is probably the high end sockets being much thicker than the import sockets. One advantage of having no labels engraved on the trays is the ability to move all the sockets over one pin to gain some radial clearance, as the pins have progressively larger spacing from left to right.
wow, those are bad ***! not even double the price of what hansen's cost, just wish they were engraved with what size goes where.
Engraving is one of our main requests so far (First being magnetizing). We currently don't as it is extremely hard to come up with a range of sizes that will work for everybody so there are no open spaces or sizes that are missed. Also the entire range of sockets can be moved either direction to gain some room on either end. Also left over pins can be used to hold a variety of other tools such as torx, u-joints, allens, extensions, etc.
Wow I really with I saw this prior to buying all those Hansen trays. They need to advertise!
I think I still may order a 1/2" drive tray for my 12pts and a 3/8" tray for my hex sockets plus U-joints.
We are working hard to get the website a little more updated. At that point we will try to hit the advertising a bit harder. For now we have had amazing success just from word of mouth advertising.
Looking at them I wonder how it would hold all of your sockets in and out of the box? My hansons work great because I can grap a rack of them and throw them on my cart...unless these are magnetic I would think between taking a rack out of the box to the cart you might loss a few sockets..that would be ba pain. And yes I like the hanson ones with the sizes on them..but the hanson trays do not fit a lot of different sockets...where as these would...I will call them Monday moring and talk to them...if goes good I will just set up a dealer account. If they will hold in transfer....I am in and all of my new hansons are out the door...lol...err..well getting posted on GJ..
Moving the entire tray should be no problem. In fact the sockets stay put just fine with hardest of slams of the tool box drawers. The worst offenders are the 1/4" deep well sockets. They have a tendancy to tip a bit on the pin, but they are far from falling over or off. The trays can be held at well past a 45 deg angle with no tools falling off the pins.
We have been getting bombarded with requests for magnetic versions. We are working on it. I am not sure why the necessity for it however? The sockets never fall off or over in normal tool box use. I am assuming people are looking for all the sockets to stay put if the entire tray is tipped over while carrying it to a job site?
Damn, i should tell the guy i started the post here... try to finegal a free set for all the potential business drummed up ha ha.
But, I agree i think that no labels is a plus. And I rarely take my trays out of my box. With them being anonized, can you still spray them with a carb or brake clean without discoloration? That's one of the things I hate about the plastic ones. I usually wash the hansons or other plastics with diesel fluid then hit em with an air gun. The short pegs hopefully would fit swivels, allens and torx. That'd be a huge space saver.
Carb clean and brake clean them all you want. They will still look brand new. Only chemicals with acid in them will fade the anodizing like oven cleaner, engine cleaner, etc.
just found what the wife is buying me for Christmas, and free shipping on the full set
Added to my Christmas wish list.
With out a doubt! We have sold a bunch already to wives and girlfriends!
I've bought some polished Deluxe bumper trim from him a while ago, nice work on those.
