This is so true........I bet that 10mm is in there somewhere lol
Everything but a 10mm, and plenty of useless 11mm sockets, I'll guarantee you.

That looks exactly like my Dad's toolboxes did... as a result, I'm no neat freak, but my tools stay organized enough I can lay hands on the 10mm or whatever size mostly without looking.

I've got another one...

The asshats who impact lug nuts using the "kinda close" socket that ******* up not all of them but 2 or 3 of 5...
Then you've got to stop in the midst....change sockets...

Hence why i have a set of
Point 5 sockets from 18.5 to 22.5

Oh that pisses me off. Lazy!!!!

Yep it's close...run it. 🤬🤬🤬🤬

another one that I was reminded again this morning.

people that drift into your lane while walking and using their electronic device. Walking on the right side of the sidewalk and they drift enough to have a head on collision while I'm coming up the other side. I've just stopped many times and had them almost walk into me. They kind of look up at me and then go around. Am I supposed to avoid the collision because I'm paying attention and on the correct side of the sidewalk? I guess I'm waiting for the day when I'm stopped, they walk into me, drop their phone and break it.

People walking on the actual sidewalk? Consider yourself lucky. Around here we have sidewalks and the fools still walk in the street!

My wife gets mad when I don't move over far enough, but my take is I don't drive on the sidewalk, and you don't walk in the street.

Yeah, but if you hit someone walking with your car there's going to be major headaches no matter the contributory negligence.
Bumping into someone while walking on the sidewalk is one thing.

Oh I'm a cyclist, and I obey the laws while riding my bike. I can't stand seeing a "guy on a bike" riding the wrong direction in traffic. Stupid and illegal.

Ahh who am I kidding, I'm eBay's *****, and I'll answer the questions promptly and correctly, or they'll make me take the return on my dime.

Yes but I get utterly annoyed with the Armstrong crowd who stays 5 feet away from the road side and actually just rides right in the middle of the lane. Absolutely ignorant to anyone in a motor car and they refuse to move.

When did that ******** start? When I was a kid we rode on the road with bikes but it was only when no cars were coming. The moment we had a car approaching from behind we gladly pulled on to the side of the road and continued. Once past and all clear again we'd ride on the pavement again.
Today it's just hooray for me
and F.U. Jack.
Completely oblivious to motorists.

Annoying as all hell and ridiculously ignorant!!!!

I'm not a neat-freak by any stretch of the imagination... But I have a peeve about seeing toolboxes like this (taken from a Facebook marketplace post):

1628602647458.png

How the hell can anybody work like that? No wonder they are trying to sell it, they probably spend all day looking for the 10mm instead of working, lol.
I bet he spends less time with that socket than the guy who has to clean it carefully and put it back in its place. One of the best mechanics I’ve ever worked with kept his whole box like this. Mine is a little better organized, but not much!

When someone states clearly that they will call ya back, and don't. Going down the rabbit hole of prompts to speak to a living breathing human at most anywhere now-a-days.
If one even exists at all.

That pisses me off too.

Guess you've never seen a guy get "doored" or squeezed into the curb by a car. I have it's not pretty. They ride that far out so it doesn't happen. There's also lots of garbage on the side of the road near the curbs to give flats.

As the saying goes............ share the road.

Love it when someone chimes in and assumes to know what the hell I'm talking about.

Just so there's no mistake I'll clear this up...
No sidewalks...no ******** curb.
There is about a 3 foot piece of unpaved to the side of the road.
It's free and clear. No trash sans a littered pack of cigarettes...

In other words they have tons of unobstructed room...yet no matter.

They will ride right in the middle of the paved road lane and it's just too effing bad to the motorist.

Thx

Well around here, it's like I said it is. I've been brushed off several times by the Deliverance characters in a Dually. You give them an inch and they'll take a mile. I guess it's just different points of view from different locations. The law here states to ride as far to the right as is practical and it is a cyclists right to "take the lane" if it isn't wide enough. That leaves some room for interpretation. I don't know where you are, but maybe take a look at the law in your area. Clearly you don't like it, but it may be perfectly legal to do. There are many things in this world that people don't agree with, but are legal. Anyway don't stress too much about it, I'm sure you've been more inconvenienced by the guys who take too long to move from a stop because they're distracted by their cell phones, I certainly have. That's illegal around here but nothing seems to be done about it. But that's an entirely different complaint tangent now isn't it ;)

People that say why don't you just buy a new one or what's you time worth?

I generally reply, I have more time than money.

I like cheap or free and will spend time fixing something up rather than buying New Junk.

Law or not...

I say again....

When I was younger and an avid BMXer' we went on the paved roads alright but always with the utmost courtesy...better yet...common sense.
Car approaching we always got off the pavement in plenty of time. No need to stop or even slow down. Car passes unimpeded and if all clear we'd get back on the pavement.

Somewhere along the way something changed. Pedal bikers now just do what the hell they want and it's tough ****.
Absolutely no care in the world your machine could literally kill them in an instant. Who cares...I've got a bicycle...it's MY road!!! 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Huh, looks like we need to add "bicycle" to the list of "GJ Guaranteed Instant Stupid Repetitive Argument Trigger Words".

Upon reflection, I think that applies to all internet forums.

Maybe that's a general pet peeve; the various universal grump-grabber words and topics that seem to lead to the same exact flame wars over and over and over and over and over again.

Can't we all just get along?

I always thought cyclists never understood physics. It doesn't matter if you (the cyclist) are right if you are dead.
It isn't that. What I was trying to convey is this. If the cyclist "hogs" the road and is in the middle of it, there is less chance of being struck from behind. The car has to wait and go around. Most drivers are not going to plow someone down on purpose. If the cyclist hugs the curb and allow just enough space for the car to squeeze through, the driver will try and make it through. That's when they get brushed into the ditch or get hit by a side view mirror. I'm trying to explain the "why" to those that may see that point of view.

Similarly why do all the motorcycle guys have ridiculously loud exhaust?.......... because loud pipes saves lives, you hear them and know they are there before you see them. Similar reason to why cyclist also wear the bright funky colors and ride in the lane......... to be seen.

Things have changed from the past. Drivers are way more distracted these days and aren't courteous to others., They don't care about anyone else in the road. "Hey I need to reply to this text while eating my fries and driving my enormous SUV, I don't have time to look up and see someone riding next to the curb". I think the cell phone addiction is what started this domino.

Peace out.

I have another.....every freakin time you call a business and get "due to high call volume" ..............this absolutely sends me to orbit. Im like why does a huge company have 3 people answering phones???? I know its prolly much more than that but it seems like its an industry standard these days.

It's insanity. A 3000 pound car or a 5000 pound truck going down the road at 60 MPH... it's no competition. Letting bikes into that mix is freaking nuts. thau are stupid, ignorant, entitled, spoiled stupid people that really should be banned from public roads. Period.

Trying to pull a 5 spoke flywheel or pulley with a 2 or 3 jaw puller.

You make a damn good point there... lots of stuff you wanna pull has five sides, studs, spokes, etc. but I don't know whether a five jaw puller really exists. There are slide hammer attachments meant to work with five stud vehicle hubs or axles, usually by pulling on three.

People who are getting checked out at the register and then don't seem to realize they have to pay until the clerk says, "that will be ...". Then they have to fumble to get their wallet out of pocket or purse and then find the $$$ or card they are going to use.

Related to this are those who wish to pay with exact change and spend an eternity digging for that change, finally give up and have to fish out some more $$$.

Deer, geese and bicyclists are all vermin and should not be allowed on streets.

or they should be taxed, a big tax.

I do pay taxes/fees . See it yearly on my vehicles registrations and it's added to the gasoline here as well. We pay a lot of taxes here. I've used gasoline to clean my bike chain, so there you go.;)

By your logic, out of state drivers shouldn't be allowed to drive their cars on our roads. That would be bad for tourism.

My biggest pet peeve is my maint guys using non impact extensions/sockets/adapters in the impact wrenches or impact drivers. Drives me nuts......constantly breaking them and asking me to replace them when they have the proper impact pieces available. I tell them once (they should know this) but if they do it a second time its at their expense. What is your biggest pet peeve?
My wife invites everyone in our neighborhood to use my tools.

Speaking of bikers, I absolutely support "share the road". But what pisses me off it that they choose some of the worst roads for recreational riding. We have lots of road options with nice bike lanes but they choose narrow 2 lane roads with a tiny median and lots of traffic and blind curves. Then they ride in herds leaving no gap for passing safety. They have the right to do it but It's stupid, stupid stupid!!

It pisses me off that my Roomba spends all it's time in ONE room and never finds it's way out into the hall. Or gets stuck vacuuming under the end table for 20 minutes because it keeps bumping into a leg. AND when it gets stuck... I watch it... it makes the SAME MOVES over and over trying to "Get Out"... Why doesn't it just LITERALLY go backwards sometimes... it would solve 90% of the "Error 5's"
