What are you guys using in your parts washer? Just got one and wondering what would be a good general cleaning solution for the usual grimy, greasy, car parts.

without reading those, i used mineral spirits in mine about 15 years ago. it messed up the internal parts in the pump motor with a quickness. i just used paint brushes with it since then. BTW, i had my bare hands without gloves submerged in the solution for all afternoon one day washing some bike parts, and felt real ill after a while. general sick cranky feeling and bad headache. it was the mineral spirits absorbed through my skin on my hands. i never used that washer without gloves since then.

I've read all the threads in the past. I use a dry cleaning solvent, which apparently So. California has disallowed in the past few months. It was pretty decent for cleaning oil off metal. I'm stocked up and I've got a good filtering system which makes a difference, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do now.

I may have to get one of those water-based cleaning tanks.

I use mineral spirits in my Clark (chinese) parts washer. I've been using it for over 3 years now with no ill effects on the pump.
