Oh hell I can not remember what I ate yesterday let alone my first snap on tool that I bought. I think (mind you it was a long time ago) a set of sae wrenches either in the late 1970's or early in the 1980's.
Although as a teenager I lusted after two things girls and snap on tools but I think girls had the upper hand over the tools.
Bought from a tool truck? Just curious and include price if you can remember. Mine was a Streamlight flashlight, Stinger DS LED . I payed Matco $140.00 and really had a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact I payed that much money for a flashlight. I still have it today, best flashlight ever.
I have the Snap On black oxide O2 socket. It's USA.Snap-On o2 sensor socket, chrome version not the ****** black oxide Chinese one they sell now. Was about 40 bucks give or take 5 years ago.
Don't need a tool truck. I have high-speed internet.![]()
Are regular joes even really welcome on the tool trucks? I saw a Matco truck stopped at the super shady car shop next to the pawn shop I like and almost considered walking over to see, but I figured they'd be jerks to a layperson. I find it hard to believe that they would buy any tool truck tools at such a shop, I routinely see them doing transmission work on SUVs supported by 4 floor jacks only out in their parking lot. My guess is their lift broke long ago and was never fixed. Also do they typically stop at industrial customers or pretty much just automotive? I work for a large equipment manufacturer and there's a plant on the same campus where I work. I'd think there might be some machinists or others who own their own tools in the plant.
