*sigh* .....the biggest problem with the picture is the fact that his welding helmet has no visor/lens to see through. It just has what appears to be an outline in black magic marker. That's why I said over and over again that the guy doesn't have x-ray vision.

The lens is facing forward toward the welding area. It would be impossible to see the lens from this angle.
Really? I don't think so. We're obviously looking at the side profile of the helmet. Unless they somehow failed to put the lens in the center and instead put it way on the right side, I'd say that we'd definitely be able to see it. I think what we're seeing here is a joke...a homemade welding helmet that's unfinished.
That guy doesn't have enough sense to clean up his bench before welding. I doubt he would be inclined to make a "homemade welding helmet".Really? I don't think so. Some hoods have recessed lenses. The biggest problem I see.....where's his beer?

Yes you are looking at the side profile of the helmet.
Explain to me how one could possibly see the front face of the hood including the lens when viewing the side, without a mirror of course???
As an example look at the helmet linked to below. Although not identical it has roughly the same embossed or molded in profile when view from the side. Take away the variable shade adjustment knob, and view the hood strictly from the side only. Now how would you be able to discern what if any lens is on it's face?
The same way I can see your nose when I look at the profile of your face. BTW, the link that you provided is a flat-faced welding helmet. The one in the picture is shaped more like this:

He's not back-purging the stainless tube.
So why can't you see the lens in the photo if it's like the one you posted ???
I'll tell you why...because the one in the OP's photo has no resembalance to the the one you posted.
Not trying to be an ******, but what the hell you smokin' ?

. And besides, the picture is obviously at a different angle.
Because there is no lense. It's a joke...the guy fabricated that helmet and had yet to cut a hole for the lens.. And besides, the picture is obviously at a different angle.

this is pretty funny. im gona go fabricate a welding helmet too so i can take a silly pic and post it on the internet.
We can only hope that RocketTR does not have access to power tools.
