What's your shop temp inside and out?

It was about 25F outside here yesterday. I was able to get my 1600SF roof-only-insulated shop up to about 58F while I was working out there for about 6 hours. My double-barrel wood stove ate quite a bit of wood in the process, but I was mostly comfortable in my flannel-lined jeans and sweatshirt. At that rate I'd need another cord of wood for this winter, but I think I'll just stay in the house until this recent cold snaps moves away.

-1 this morning and 54 in the shop. First year with the radiant heat on and its all but awesome. Last year was no insulation/heat and a ice covered floor if I didn't squeegee fast enough after plowing.

Recently it's been -13 F out.
Running ~6500 watts of electric heat for 8 hours: 63 F
In the morning with the heat off for 10 hours: 32-40 F

It was -12 last night, but I keep the garage at 50 degrees when I am not working out there. When working on a project I turn it up to 70 degrees. Right now I don't have any projects to work on so I haven't even been out in the garage for a few days.

I have been staying about 20* above outside, too bad outsides has been -10 overnight. Shop has been heating up to 30 or so in the afternoon.

I need to finish the insulation in the ceiling, its only 85% covered right now. Looks like the worst of the cold snap is over for this round. Just hope there was enough antifreeze in the boat, it usually doesn't get below 25 where I have been storing it. First year with the boat in this garage.

49* inside this morning. I just went outside and fed the heater. G/F still refuses to let me venture out on the roads with her truck. My car is still at a guys shop waiting on repairs. I rode the fourtrax 14-15 miles round trip yesterday to move hay and feed at a farm for a friend that's in the hospital. It's getting cold around here!

Inside it's 27F right now, haven't had the wood stove going in several days. Outside is -4F, 30+ mph winds. According to the weather it "feels like" -26F. In the sun.

I'm amazed. You must also have a 'ceiling' in the shop, yes?

My shop is whatever it is outside, minus the wind chill.

Yes. Metal roofing on the “ceiling” of the garage at 13’4” And sprayed in insulation above it. Summer time temps won’t reach above 65 if the doors aren’t opened. Not a vert good picture but...

Been cold here like every place else but I was having an issue trying to keep the garage warm as usual. I contributed it just being colder than average outside and then add the wind.

However, the automatic damper was closing when it shouldn't. Between the wife/daughter doing laundry (utility room remodel in the house), the bitter cold and damper issue I was having trouble getting the temps above 66. After checking out the damper and finding the "through rod" that goes from the spring to the knob was loose, so a simple matter of tightening up the compression nut has worked wonders. Once that was done, wow, the garage started to gain the heat. Lesson learned.

-5 outside 45 in the garage the wood boiler has been getting a workout lately so I didn't turn the heat up in the garage.

-8 this morning today's high was forecasted to be 0 and tonight's low is -14 and then the wind chill on top of that

LOL, it's so cold here...I went outside to refire the heater and the shop mice had the door to the heater open loading wood!

It's not suppose to get above freezing here until Monday. I'm working on building a wood fired stock tank heater right now.

Mine has been unheated for a week. It has stayed at 40 degrees whether the outside temps have been 6 or up to 30 degrees. Wood frame construction, uninsulated metal door, no insulation in the ceiling.

That's not that far fetched , I worked at a service station in the 70's and it was an old building , anyhow one cold winter nite a customer went inside to use the bath room . Just before he went in , he saw a rat sitting on his haunches next to the space htr we had for the office and bath rm. I laughed at him and he said go look for your self . Yep there was a rat sitting next to the heater getting warm !

I've got to get some mouse traps....they seem to like the warm floor in the office best of all.

I knocked an empty bottle of chocolate milk off on the floor... damn mouse had it rolling around on the floor licking the top of it by the cap. It was quite amusing.

4* right now outside...and it'll probably get colder...49* inside...gotta go put some wood in the heater!

Where are you located? Sounds a lot like my weather right now.

53F in the back of the shop, colder upfront. I had to open the overhead last week and the seals are so cold they didn't seal back up.

Outside temp is per the weather app is -21F, my thermometer showed -15F a few minutes ago.
