The lovely and talented Ms. Inch. On the radar is another bike lift so she can tear down her Sportster; her main ride is a '03 Low Rider.

Mine helps me out whenever I need an extra pair of hands or want to come down and chat or bring things down to me to fix .
"Hey Hon while you are in the garage can you do this.. OR fix that" .. Other than that she usually does her own thing in the gardens ect...

A few years ago, I decided to roof my house over 2 weekends. Both Fridays, when I got home from work, my wife was on the roof tearing the old shingles off.

my wife will absolutly help anytime.

when we were dating and after we got married she has helped in building our sand rails, working on the dirt bikes street bikes, our bass boat and everything else over the years. she has helped work on my veh's and does her own oil changes and services to this day.

heck she even did her own reloads. she does not like stick welding to much or a bench grinder, hand grinder is fine though. has done and enjoyed painting.

makes me love her that much more.

Reading all this amazes me! My wife is not in the least bit interested.Oh yes! In 25years she has managed to wash her car about v3 timees, when I was recovering from a heart bypass operation. Let her be involved with bleeding brakes- 'No way.' And I would never let her anywhere near my bike. I even pay out a monthljy amount for a guy down the road to valet her car because I feel guilty having the garage all to myself.Besides,if she came in the garage she would only touch or move something!!!

She will usually come out and help if I ask her. She also tries to tell me how to do everything the wrong way. I usually end up sending her back into the house.

My wife loves the garage just like I do. She helped me paint and continually finds things that go good in there. When we were dating,I went to her house. She was with her dad in the shop. They were under his jeep putting a clutch in. Her dad is a retired machinist and has owned his own machine shop. He also worked maintenance for years at a local metal factory. He is now retired and I get to learn lots from his knowledge. She grew up always being around him and helping him. She doesn't mind getting her hands greasy and will help anytime I want her to. I was truly blessed when she married me! She is very special and rare.

She helped me load 2 calves on the trailer to take to the sale, does that count?

She helps me with car work, especially if it's her car.

dont have a wife, but generally my girlfriend will help if shes around. i tend to be a bear if something isnt going my way while working and she knows this. sometimes she gets upset about it but usually helps calm me down.

she'll paint, and help with tile work, tried to help drywall, she has to get the hang of using a screw gun, but cannot swing a hammer for her life. she'll get dirty under the car but hates changing oil(only helped once). her little car is tight, and involves taking off a splash guard, and she managed to cut her self and burn herself. so thats my job, she sits there and hands me tools, and then fills the car up. she's a weakling so not much help moving stuff but will try. her and my dad and mom had one end of an old upright piano we were getting rid of. i had the other, and got to go down the stairs first. latter she said it was easy..i beg to differ

My daughter when she was in high school came home got the roll around floor jack, star lug wrench, and hub cap haammer and went and changed a flat for a football player friend who didn't know how to change his own tire. She has been a big help until she moved 500 miles away.

Mine helped me remove the limestone facing off a building and load and transport it home and cart it into the yard and stack it. I always give her the heavy end (She's stronger than me).

My wife helps me when I need to bleed brakes. She's good at pumping the brake pedal. ;-)

The first time my wife helped with bleeding brakes:
Her: My leg is getting tired
Me: Which one?
Her: The one on the brake pedal, silly!
Me: Well, use the other one for a while.
Her: I was taught NOT to brake with my left foot!
Me: You aren't really driving, you know.....
Her: Oh, yeah.

I think I posted in this thread way back. She is a real trooper, and doesn't mind helping at all. Just not mechanically inclined.

For a good while I was working full time, ebaying full(er) time, and my wife was working about a day or less per week, watching our kids (4 & 2) and playing on facebook. The house was a wreck (I certainly didn't have time to do ANYthing), we seldom cooked at home (yeah, with 2 little kids), and the laundry gets to 6-7 load size before anyone did it.

She complains that all I do is tell her what to do. And it is 100% true. If I don't tell / ask her to do something, it nearly never gets done. I've asked for whites to be washed for 4 days in a row. If its not done when I get home tonight I'll do the damn stuff myself.

I have had a breakthrough recently. She started helping me package my ebay stuff, and the last 3 nights has done it 90% on her own. It will be such a burden lifter for me if she does that because it usually takes a couple hours per day.

The problem is that I used to never do ANYTHING besides my day job and she resented me for it and quit doing anything herself, and the place got pretty messy. Then one day I woke up and went from a leisure mindset to where I have to be getting something checked off my to do list at all times. And the list never ends. I'm not sure how this happened but it did. Unfortunately she decided she liked not doing anything, and has stayed that way.

I'm hopeful this ebay work will start breaking her of that habit a little bit. I love her, and my kids, and we all need each other and none of us will be better off seperated, but its real tough to carry so much burden on my own, and I don't like being a dictator around the house. I feel like a field general in almost every situation. If I don't give the instruction, everyone just stands there waiting for me to.
