Re: Yea Old Garage
That, sir, is a very pretty picture and you should be very proud.
Thanks though Mother Nature privode the snow I just have the blood sweat and tears invested in the garage part!
Today starting to purge atv workshop in preparation for spring garage sale.
Wife picked up this small compressor off of curb last fall and it's been on my to look at list since?
I thought the compressor was probably shot but if the tank was good I'd keep that part as a portable emergency tank to fill and go if needed.
Plugged it in last fall and motor ran 30 seconds the oil started pouring out top relief valve. okay so it's got some problem whatever it gets stashed back in a hidey hole for the winter I'll look into it again some day.
Today is the day read the instructions on the cover and it mentions oil level sight glass, H'mmm lets find that, yep full of oil pull breather plug of where oil is spitting out when running, yep oil there as well. H'mmmm thinking there might be to much oil in there?
Now that I think about it stuff looks kinda whipped and frothy coming out of breather spout?
Pull sight glass out and drain out 1 pie pan full.
Oil level now right above sight glass I think tilted compressor and drained another 1/2 pie pan the put sight glass back in and took 1-5 seconds for sight glass to show full oil.
Plugged in compressor and runs up to 150 psi shuts off.
Bleed out tank turns back on. Have cycle through 4-5 on/off cycles now.
Sweet I have a 2nd air compressor now small and portable!
Now due I put it on garage sale for $50
Or keep it around to have a spare?
Keep 1 in atv shop other can go up to yea old garage?
Other compressor is just a 20 gallon 5hp Coleman traditional type
Pros on keeping it.
Small,
Portable,
Grab and go if needed.
Cons,
Due I need 2 compressors?
Also have a craftsman 19.2v air pump that has done tires if needed that takes along time though.
I'm thinking I'll keep it around?
Thoughts?
Pic of compressor!
