Any of my Snapon comfort handle ratchets. I have their entire comfort line and use them a LOT. Funny thing is that's the only thing I actually own from Snapon. Everything else is Craftsman professional series. Someday (maybe) I'll buy some Snapon sockets too.

For some reason I always grab my S-K 3/8" stubby more than any other ratchet around my shop. Yes, the one I said I didn't like at first.

Proto 5450 1/2" drive

It's not really my "go to," but when doing rear wheel bearings on a 928 recently (not an easy job) it proved it's worth - 16 inches end to end, it's kind of like a ratchet and breaker bar all in one.

I'm also growing quite fond of my Triangle 1/4" drive - sweet little ratchet.

That's quite a different looking ratchet and I don't recognize the logo but it's probably the second best looking ratchet in this thread, topped only by the old school Plomb's.

I have one of these and have to admit... nice ratchet! It's not too short to be comfortable and you still have good leverage, but short enough to not get in the way. It's like a mid-length ratchet ;-)

Here is my go-to a 12" flex head comfort grip Matco that I have not upgraded to 88 teeth yet. No ratchet feels quite as good to me and I use it 2 to 1 over any other ratchet.

Gear wrench roto ratchet in 3/8 it would have been my flex head snappy 80 tooth but my coworker left it under the hood of a customers car....

For sure is my Facom R.158 1/4" flex head. Buttery smooth yet strong and feels perfect in hand.

For sure my Snap On quick release dual 80 tooth ratchets. 3/8 is used most often. After spoiling myself with these, I just can't stand using others anymore.

Ok, the 1/4 is a 72 tooth, but it still feels great to me.

Newsome 3/8" drive.... not the smoothest, but it feels right in my hand and it was the ratchet that I started out using. It has taken a real pounding and is still going. I bought a second set because of it.

I love my Craftsman RHFT's in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive. I buy them whenever I find them reasonable. My second favorite for 1/2 drive is my long handle Proto when I need a litte more torque.

It's become my go to ratchet for lower torque applications since I tend to 'palm' my ratchets. Got it at a great price at Sears and never looked back.

I want a set of Facom's (straight, regular length) with those sweet black rubber grips... but my current user is an Armstrong 3/8" locking flex.

Honestly, for the average homeowner, a 3/8" drive will do pretty much anything that's not auto-specific.

Still no snappy ratchets past my FHX80 that I sold to a Canadian fellow on here... Wish I had another one.

for many years my go to for 3/8" was the Halfords one, light, comfortable, didn't chill your hands in cold weather, the Craftsman one has started to usurp its position though



this new Halfords one may take the lead tho


really comfy to use.

For 1/4", which I use a lot (I mostly do motorcycle work) another plastic Halfordds one gets a lot of action, they come in a set thats regularly on sale for about $20, I now have 4 of them, thats how much I like them. However, I did pick up this little flex head at a swap meet which is pretty nice, no idea who made it, I had assumed it was a cheapo far Eastern on, But there is an H in a circle on the head, so if anyone recognises it, it would be cool to know.

Harbor Freight Pittsburgh Pro Composite. I bought them for truck tool box spares, but use them most of all. I just like them.

you know it's weird and a lot of people may disagree with me here, but i own snapon, cornwell and craftsman ratchets, and for some odd reason my instant goto 3/8" ratchet is my duralast i got when i first started wrenching..not because of it being my first setup, but honestly i've been using it 3 years in a professional environment, it hasn't broken or slipped even once, although i do dunk it in ****** fluid like once a year, but its smooth..and hasn't failed yet..not to say i promote using duralast because all of their other tools i've used break almost instantly but this one ratchet is just a champ
