We see pics of tools all the time on here. Most of the time they are nicely laid out and polished and shiny. Let's see those same tools at their best. Let's see your tools in action! It's a PITA to stop what you're doing to take a pic but worth it!

I dont have many of me using my tools. Most of my photos are of friends and co-workers using them.

This is the only one I have of me. Im using my Matco 3/8 impact inside a Scion that I had to disassemble to replace the intrrior wiring harness due to rat damage.

Started off in my teens working on my motorcycle(s); still have my Craftsman socket and wrench sets. Moved on to cars; acquiring some Snap-on stuff along the way. Lately just been working on bicycles with bike specific tools(Park Tools):

Haven't been doing many mechanical projects recently, but I've been getting my money's worth from my meter.

In some ways this is a video of my tools in inaction. This was when I was stuck trying to get this transmission mount in. If I had my Wrightgrips and the Estwing 5.5lb deadblow I could have made short work of things. Instead I had to improvise and also get someone to pick me up an 18mm wrench from F&F.

I did get it replaced though in the end so all was good. Pictured are the Gearwrench reversible ratcheting wrenches which conveniently skipped the one size I needed. :soapbox:

Pulling a bad 4.7L out of my dad's '02 Dakota. Had to drop the oil pan and unbolt the caps from a pair of seized rod bearings so that we could rotate the crank to unbolt the torque converter.

Last week I replaced the drive shaft universal joints on my kubota mower. Had to take the body panels off and loosen the radiator to get it out.
The cool thing was that every bolt was 12mm.

I then rebuilt 2 mower deck spindles with new seals and bearings. I had already rebuilt the middle deck spendle early in the year when I rebuilt the mower deck gearbox. My 20 ton press has been well worth the $80 bucks I paid for it.

Pardon my ignorance and topic change....

Why didn't you just use a regular socket to perform this task?
Did you have to adjust the torque setting to compensate for using that attachment like you did?

Because he probably didnt have a "pass-thru" torque wrench...

The adjustment is made with the allen wrench, tough to do with a normal socket on there. At 90 degrees you don't have to change the torque setting. Straight you do and there's a formula for it, I can set it up in the torque wrench to automatically make the change also.

Yup.

K dog, that seems a little excessive of a repair... Bmw? Looks like it should have been a total...although half the stuff I work on is totals lol.

That's what my cart looks like when we're busy lol. I suffer severely from CFS when it's those types of days.

Yeah I am in pretty deep.
Its a pretty highly modified M3. Customer is paying for the repair. it would have totaled otherwise.
Its one of the most extensive repairs I have ever done.

This is how it looked the end of last week.

The big booger on the back of the quarter happened somewhere between Germany and here. BMW said they were sending us the best one they had.

1. SO Tech Angle and a Craftsman Magnetic light (which is awfully handy) during a thermostat, housing and sensor r/r.

2. This one's funny. Installed a Monroe QuickStrut (gimme a break lol) on a civic and needed to line up the holes. I was alone so that SO 24 pry bar was of no use.
Darn cheapest Irwin clamp/spreader actually held it's own against that lower control arm.

3. The other side: I didn't have spring compressors at the time so I ended up using a bottle jack to push the spring up. Yes it did slip the first time!

Btw, would you guys believe that Civic's got 200k and all the suspension parts are original. That's what a 12 year old California garaged at home and at work car's suspension looks like.
Heck, I was able to unbolt the control arm bolt just with a 1/4 hex dewalt impact impact driver. I did spray it with PB though first lol.
