My son mentioned he had a slight “clunk” noise in the front right corner of his truck the other night so he washed his truck and dropped it off at the shop on Thursday evening with the intentions of taking a look at it on Saturday morning.
The wife and I each had a couple of days of vacation that if we didn’t use we would lose which I would be damned if I was going to let that happen. Yesterday the wife and I took off and went for a drive.
Driving up over Logan Canyon we found ourselves smack in the middle of a winter storm.
We also found a couple of side trails to play on.
As we were on our way home our son called to let me know our DIL had a blowout on the freeway heading home from work. Thank God she wasn’t injured or caused an accident but the tire is trashed. With 50k miles on them he decided to replace all four so he asked if he could throw her car on the lift last night and then removed all four tires so we could have new ones installed first thing Saturday morning.
Today I went with him to have pick out some new tires. The DIL’s car with new shoes on it ready for winter.
While we were waiting for the tires to be mounted & balanced we put the front of his truck on jack stands and tire into his noise. Working on a lift sure spoils a person. I hate working on jack stands these days.
We found the bushings in his front brake caliper brackets were worn so a new hardware kit solved the problem.
Ready to reinstall.
While he was at it he swapped tires & wheels for his winter shoes.
Now to clean up the shop and call it a day.
