I bought 1 extra spool. Have gotten zero response on Craigslist at $200 and have only sold 1 of the 2 on eBay. It took 2 weeks to sell that one. For those wanting to go this route, know that it could take a while to sell and won't be a simple flip.

I got $215 for mine but sold it within days after the flash sale as soon as I received it.

So if everyone buys a 211 fully expecting the rebates, if Miller does not honor them because Zoro is not one of the approved vendors, does that mean they got scammed?

I bought a 211 during the last flash sale (5/14/15) and Miller honored the rebate.

There are a lot of those that have received the rebate. I dont understand if you are actually looking to buy, or just posting to try to cause some sort of panic or problem?

Note - my posts in this thread detail my phone call to Miller about Zoro (they explained they weren't an approved vendor), and then subsequent payment of rebate, including what I sent in. Like those that assured me with my questions, and those that have since received the rebate, I dont think its an issue.

cagullett1 - one of the recent sold spoolguns on Ebay was mine, my dad sold it on ebay. That was one reason I was pretty confident in my pricing info I posted a few days ago, and why I knew pricing trends, I had been doing some research in selling ours. Net was over $200 after all said and done.

With that said, it did take 2 weeks (2 listings) for it to sell.

what is going to be the cheapest route for shipping the spoolmates that people are selling? Will it fit in a USPS large flat rate?

I'm confused. Is zoro not an approved vendor for miller? Will my rebate not be honored?

Suppose I'll call miller on Monday; I had called them on the rebate before and they were very helpful. Guess I can always return it but I don't want to. But no rebate/spoolgun would be a deal breaker for me.

You will get your rebate - If you filled the form out correctly and provided the required information.

:see:

My rebate check arrived today.

Spoolgun showed up last week.

I scanned the completed rebate/promotional offer form from Miller and the receipt from Zoro into a single .pdf and attached it to an email.

Guys, there are a few people that posted in this thread stating after calling miller and talking with them directly that Zoro is not one of the "approved vendors". I absolutely know that people received the rebates, my buddy got one and has all his rebates. I am just saying that there is a chance that so far this has been an oversight at miller and anytime the rebates could be denied. So take it with a grain of salt, call me a trouble maker, but I am telling you that "technically" they do not have to honor the rebate.

My question is that the rebate says "Only purchases made through participating Miller distributors will qualify for the Build with Blue rebate."

So is Zoro a "participating Miller distributor"?

Just called Miller, spoke with Tal (I think). He checked, stated that Zoro was not an authorized distributor, so purchases there would not qualify, it would have to come from Grainger.

Not sure about this now, but people on previous page were getting theirs. Not sure if it is worth it or not yet.

I am not denying the rebates have gone through, but I am letting people know there could be a slight risk. :willy_nil

Definitely, but seems to be a low risk now. Millers CS = very helpful, but my guess is a third party company is handling the rebates, as they dont seem to care at all about Zoro :dunno: :willy_nil

If we knew, it wouldn't be a "flash" sale, would it?

Strouty, there's also lots of reports in this thread of people calling in to Miller after sending in their paperwork, and they were told that everything was in order. I highly doubt that Miller "overlooked" that Zoro is not an authorized retailer. Grainger is, and apparently that's acceptable to them. There's had to have been at least twenty rebates Miller fulfilled from Zoro, and I'd realistically put the number closer to 50 based on the amount of people that have posted in here (a majority of people will not post).

Please stop spreading the FUD.

Understood. I think I may have been a little possessed by Double G Construction. I was not trying to cause grief.

Miller is handling the rebates. I called miller and the person I spoke to said to just put his name on it and say he ok'd it. Which says to me it's handled in house.

Interesting, makes you wonder why the mix up and why they tell callers "no, Zoro wont work", and then send the rebate anyways.

Oh well, either way, I have a welder, a rebate in my bank account, and a sold spool gun that agrees with everyone else (except Miller when you call in) saying it does work!

Best luck to all trying to get in on the next flash sale!

Probably because they look down their list and don't see Zoro, but it's the same as Grainger and the stock all comes through Grainger.

Yes, and I brought that up in my conversation with them. The whole "zoro is a subsidiary, shipping and stock is direct from Grainger's warehouses, should have a packing slip with Grainger's name coming to my house", etc. That did not change the answer they gave me on the phone.

I went through all of this a few months ago when I got this, called them, spoke with 2 people, same answer from both.

I am not arguing about how Zoro does business, simply stating that the rebate worked, in spite of the information Miller provided with direct questions regarding Zoro as the seller.

I am simply trying to let others who are now concerned know that I did call, got bad information direct from the source, trusted this sites members, and got my rebate and spool gun. Or: Buy with confidence, rebate did come through! :rocker:

I've got my welder. I went for the 20% deal. I'm gonna call miller on Monday to confirm that they'll honor the warranty.

I thought buying tape was stupid but I love Gorilla tape and Zoro has an average regular price, going to pick some up!

About to put my order in, anyone have any other suggestions? :)

What is typically in the flash sale? Is it a x% off site wide, or are specific items placed on sale?

30% off site-wide. $50 and over is still free shipping.

I think it's fair to say there will not be a flash sale today, I plan on using the 25% off I have though. :rocker:

The easiest way to get 20 and 25% off codes is to buy from Zoro on a regular basis. In the past month, I've placed two orders, one with a 20% and the other with a 25% code. Items that are inconvenient to purchase locally, I'll pick up from Zoro, if I need them right away. I don't expect the discount every time and by placing orders on a regular basis, it keeps the emails with the discount codes coming.

This reminds me of an article that I was reading about a guy bargaining for handmade goods in Argentina, he said he would buy a couple single items at the asking price, then he would discuss a discount for the item he really wanted. When they agreed on a price he would request a thousand of them. Basically take one for the team every once and a while and celebrate many more victories.
