Arduino Based Spot Welders

The summer of weird and nerdy electronics projects continues… Lately, I’ve been using a lot of 18650 based Li-Ion battery packs in 2, 3, and 4s. As such, I’m thinking I need a battery spot welder. It seems as though a lot of guys prefer the Arduino based DIY kits and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these. The most popular seems to be from Germany, but there are others… Anyone have any experience with this? If so, I could use some guidance! See Comments on the forum.

Engineer PA-09

So, I can’t seem to get out of my “nerd build” phase. I’ve moved on from keyboards and strange little TVs to unmanned aerial vehicles. TP Tools USA 9736 Blast Cabinet

A few years ago, I bought a TP Tools blast cabinet for the hot rod shop. I liked it so much that soon after, I contacted TP to let them know how I pleased I was. Essentially, this one is very similar to my own – only larger and perfectly sized for the automotive guy that needs to blast a lot …

The Atomic TV

I had a bunch of spare parts left over from two other tech projects and decided to make a TV – sort of. It’s actually a little all-in-one computer that’s coded to automatically loop and play videos that are loaded onto a thumb drive. And while it’s capable of sound, I am using it as a sort of art piece on my shelf with the sound on mute. In any case, enjoy… See Comments on the forum.

New Alliance Vendor: Stedlin Mfg.

Well that took a while… It’s a long story, but Stedlin and I have been talking for a few weeks now about both sponsoring the Garage Journal and becoming Alliance Vendors. After a folly of weeks due to my over-active spam filter and Covid fallout, we were finally able to hook up and now, you can save 25% off of Stedlin goods and get free shipping on orders of over $25. If you are an alliance member, you can get your discount code here. Anyway, I actually have one of their couplers in my shop and… they are worth the …
