I should clarify that the first pic is in the first position where they should be aligned the best. The grind on the tip slant isn't even, which is hard to get a picture of. I agree these are for heavy duty, just wanted to mention it in case someone was expecting a do everything plier
Not a do everything plier for sure. I recently did some electrical work. Uncurled and re-curled some wire around the screw terminals on some receptacles I was changing. Used my Channellock long nose pliers as the tips are narrow and to a point. These Snap ons would not have been a good choice for that job. Likely could have used them, but I had a better option.

Isn't that why we have these tool boxes filled with various tools? There are subtle differences that we notice and appreciate after using tools for a while.

If I need to grab and reef on something in a narrow opening, these will do a better job than those CL long nose pliers I have though.

Mine arrived today, these feel surprisingly stout and precise, my 47ACF wobbles even in the first setting, which is not much of a bother, but I figured the long nose will just aggravate things, but I guessed wrong, these are tight tight tight:

And this is the max amount of slop I can force ( reasonably ):

Can't wait for the tiny brother of this!

Did you see Doc's video? Did it convince you?
Ha, why yes! I like that channel. I have been looking for a straight plier version of the Knipex Cobra ES, since I found the narrow nose useful. Most importantly I was looking for something more compact than the 9" that's out now. I think the LN46ACF along side a pair of 7" Pliers wrench, will work good together.

Yep, I had two LN46ACFs in my cart earlier today only to return later and find them removed -- and now no longer available on their site. Hoping they'll be available again soon...

I got the same cancellation email on the one I ordered. I also ordered some other things to get to the free shipping level-I will be pissed if they charge me shipping because they pulled out the pliers.

This is remarkable. Something that has existed since the beginning of time has been re-invented. I normally give Snap-On maximum ****, although I am a SNA stockholder, but I must give them major props for this new pliers design. Hell, I thought only Knipex could come up with something new.

The little guys are compelling. I'd be interested to see a comparison of them and the TwinGrip.

My local SO driver finally has a LN47ACF pair for me. I'll meet up with his truck someplace when he's nearby in the coming week. I've had a number of cases where these pliers woulda been quite useful in the several months I've been waiting for him to get ahead of the guys who make money with their tools to the point where as a home-garage guy I felt OK taking one from him.

Just got these yesterday, used the **** out of them today working on a crusty *** 2014 Journey. TONS of uses for these! They remind me of the old Cman Pro 2 position needle nose, but WAY more stout and longer.

One pic is 97ACF needle nose next to the LN47ACFs.
Looks like those are three position though correct?
EDIT
yes, 3 position.

I checked with snap on industrial last week after seeing the new slip joint long nose pliers on You Tube. They're not available from them yet, forecasted to be available around June/July through industrial channels. they look very useful to me.
Can just corporations or what have you Mills machine shops etc purchase snap-on industrial or can anyone buy it, like online?

...plus their ridiculous shipping. I get that they don't want their website to compete with the truck owners, but...
I contacted my local SO guy by email, paid him (price listed on the website plus tax and shipping) with paypal and he shipped me the pliers very reasonably priced. I have no idea if that's a common practice. Seems like a good way to make sales to people not at a shop he makes scheduled stops. If I decide to get the mini me version of these pliers or anything else SO I'll contact him again.

Yes, that's it! Thanks!
Funny how there was never an insane amount of interest here in the SK or Craftsman version when they were available. But as soon as SO makes one, it's the greatest pliers ever LOL
And I knew that someone would know the SK version and then point out all the differences in comparison to SO. :ROFLMAO:
I said "similar"
I looked, it doesn't look like you can even find the SK ones now.

Yeah, that's too much for me too. I don't do much mechanics work since I'm retired, I'll get by without them.
I might have tried the SK ones, but I can't find them.
This YouTube video said Amazon had them as low as 15.00 a few years ago.

I'd be interesting in hearing the two different purposes.

So these two pliers do the same thing? They are interchangeable and their performance should be compared? What task would you choose, to compare them equally?

the Knipex is more for stripped screws and general nut grabbing, the LN47ACF is more of a tight space pulling and yanking type of tool in my experience. You can see the front facing jaws on the Knipex, fairly similar to the vamplier teeth. Also the Knipex is designed for way more lever action, if you compare them.

Thank you very much for the time you put into the comparison!

Looks like some trucks have the LN46ACF and a few are $$$ on ebay, not listed on Snap On's site yet.

Look like awesome pliers, can't wait to get my hands on a set. Actually, I can and will wait, but hate waiting!
I guess the guys that can't wait are willing to pay for it. I saw many sold already on ebay for more than double the sixty something dollar list price that was on the SO website when it did show up there. Patience is a virtue and it'll help your wallet in this case.
