If you’re gonna feed it get it fixed.
We have a setup like below on each of our two back porches. Kitty Tube with a Rubbermaid tub on top. The platform has PVC legs and is clipped at 45° across the front to align with the tube opening. As we call it.... The platform is the "veranda" and the tub is the "cabana".
The Kitty Tube is insulated and ventilated. They're really nice but you're probably not going to like the price. Available from Kitty Tube or on Amazon. Free shipping though.
We did these shelters after we adopted 4 ferals (or, they adopted us) in 2012 and knew they were going to be keepers. We still have 2 of them. One had given birth to her second (that we know of) litter when we found her. Pretty amazing for ferals to make it to 15 years old now.
If you keep the cat, you should look into TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) services near you. Likely much less expensive than a local vet unless they offer some type of deal. That's what we did with ours. Fresno appears to have 3-4 offerings.

Damn you're right, those aren't cheap. Haven't seen the little guy though as I've been sick as a dog unfortunately.
I'm more worried about the heat; winter isn't really a thing out here as it never gets cooler than 40s or so. It's board shorts weather year round.

We have a black cat that's adopted us. Well he's adopted my girl. Loves her. Me not so much though I've graduated to door man. She got him fixed, and got all his shots current. We have a water bowl outside for him, but food is indoors to avoid attracting other neighborhood critters.
He's very aware of his surroundings, and very cautious. Probably why he's still around. Maybe one day he'll warm up to me, but I'm not holding my breath. The female cat we have that we inherited from some friends loves me, but she's still a little autistic *****.

Of our 4 ferals, only one of them warmed up to us a little bit. If it was feeding time, you could pet him quite a bit. Other than that... NO way. That worked to our advantage when he had a major eye infection. Taking him to the vet would have been impossible. The vet gave us the antibiotic injection and we were able to grab him and give it to him. Sadly, he was the first to pass.
The remaining 2, and the 3rd that passed away last year, stayed feral. Feeding time is OK to open the door and, maybe, a quick pet before they realize it. When we think about it, we're actually glad they're that way. I'm sure it's contributed to their longevity.
When I welded up those parts the other day, I was already feeling under the weather. Well later that evening I had the worst headache for the rest of the weekend.
Only now starting to feel a bit better, but I was able to get my business partner to pick up my parts for powder coat. Picked them up today and they're looking freaking great.
Even though I cut and bent 7 sets, I opted to get only 4 done so I can turn these around quickly. Already sold 2 and just posted the other 2 so we'll see how fast they go before I get the others done.
As for my press brake, I called and when I began to explain the situation (and my troubleshooting) I was met with a response saying "we'll send you a new board".
Apparently some of the boards they received did not get the "best packaging" so they've had reports of some having intermittent issues. They suspect it could be something like a broken solder joint which will be a really easy fix for me if that's the case.
For now I decided not to remove it, but the replacement does arrive tomorrow. If I get issues again with the backgauge, I'll remove it and inspect the port and the PCB for signs of any broken connections and reflow it leaving me with a new replacement board as a backup.
That's best case scenario of course.

Trying to cool your air compressor down some - maybe get a portable fan hang it from above - off some chain or hooks …

Have you thought about adding a. 2 ton mini split to the garage ?
Central Valley gets HOT during summer and can get chilly during winter at times -

I have two fans that blow from the inside of the garage to push air out for two reasons -
1. Keep me at least a bit cool
2. Push any and all smoke and metal dust out of the garage when plasma cutting
Even though the table is at the very end of the garage and I always run the garage door open, I like to be extra cautious and keep my lungs and the inside of the garage smoke-free.
I had just taken a random pic of the air compressor, but you're right it would be nice to cool it down some. I run a refrigerated air dryer for that reason, as the air gets hot and carries moisture to my consumables on my torch.
As for a mini split, it's definitely been talked about. My friend would happily do it for free if I bought a unit as he does commercial HVAC so you're talking big stuff. I posted a picture earlier in the thread somewhere of the large pipes he'd have to fit up and whatnot so doing a mini split would be the equivalent of a professional baker making cake from a box lol.
I just haven't considered buying one anytime soon because the mini split would be rather pointless if the garage door was kept open. That and business has been crazy slow all of a sudden so no money coming in to invest back into the garage.
When I'm working in there and not welding or cutting, the garage stays significantly cooler even in the summer as it's insulated. This is the main reason for not having bought a mini split.
Even when people stop by to visit and I'm in the garage they're like "holy ****, it's so much cooler in here". Especially when my business partner comes over

What camera phone or camera are you using. Amazing photographs.Cut tons of parts out today, but I'll share last night's bracket.
The first bend that needs to be done is the very tip of the catch here. You can see that after it's bent, it more or less tells me how much clearance I need from the die before the second bend.
Anyway I had all that calculated so onto the next bends.
Leaving the larger flange for last. This is because if I had done it first, it would interfere with the punch holder doing the bend at the tip of the catch.

@KwikFab - Has your cat buddy come back? This just popped up on my Amazon suggestions today - made me think about your buddy.
Funny you ask - we've been busy so I haven't been around the shop at all to see it.
I did however see a FB post come up last night in a local group with a picture of said cat. Looked like the same one only to realize it is (same general location).
The girl deleted the post after we confirmed it was a stray and she took to messaging me to let me know it got picked up, fixed, and released again so that part is handled fortunately. Only thing that ***** is, the reason for last night's post by her is because the cat was somewhat limping.
I do hope it's alright, and I do believe it waked by my driveway around the time she messaged me that it'd be released. However, I had just received a solicitor as I opened my garage door hence the cat taking off.
I'll keep an eye out the next few days otherwise I may not catch it since I'm busy during the week with the kiddo.

I don't believe I posted about it but recently I had posted a large metal Bluey sign I cut out over a year ago for sale. It was hung on my kid's wall in his playroom and since he had phased it out for Paw Patrol, I took the sign down.
Well, that thing sat with zero interest shown both in the forum as well as locally on Facebook. Decided to gift it to my kid's teacher so they can put it up in the classroom only to hear days later that the other teachers absolutely loved it.
When I picked my kid up today, I gave out a few of my business cards and asked that they send me a message to see about what they wanted.
One messaged me asking for anything Winnie the Pooh for her class, and another asked for a turtle.
After I got done with doing some mock up using a customer's truck today, I decided to knock out the Winnie the Pooh.
As for the turtle, I'll have to follow up and ask if she's wanting a "generic" one, or a sea turtle, or whatever she might have in mind.
Let me backtrack though. I had a buyer for some truck parts I make and while the majority are sold online, this person was local and only after we got to talking a short bit did he realize who I was
What I mean is, I'm known on another forum as I'm an Official Vendor there so when he found out, he was excited to put a face to a name. Turned out even better for me because I asked what kind of truck he had, and it was exactly what I needed to use for a mock up - a double cab long bed.
My good friend in Reno has a long bed as well, but during my visit a few weeks back I had very little time to actually use his truck for gathering my measurements. Well fortunately what I got was damn close to the final result because I cut out a revised set of mock parts and put them against today's customer's truck.
Love how good 16 gauge cold rolled looks; picked it up today just for this mock since it's a lot cheaper than cutting the real parts right away out of 3/16". The kicker? That 16 gauge went up in cost from $65 up to $81 today before tax.
And here they are clamped to the truck so I can measure the final "adjustments" needed.
Funny thing is, you're seeing the ugly side as I had asked the customer to remove one of his sliders (specifically passenger) only to realize I cut out mock up plates for the driver side.
Anyway, was glad to get this done as well as receive some commentary. Apparently the way I designed these, they have more attachment points than the set he purchased from a well-known company.

BTW: I’m really glad you have all your stuff in your own thread instead of scattered in the “your garage “ thread like the rest of us.
For the teachers, I'm doing it absolutely free including the material.
I'm doing it just as my own way of saying thanks to them, even those from other classrooms nearby that have nothing to do with my kid since they're all Preschool and Kindergarten teachers.
My kid is in Preschool so he's in there with a few others between 3-4 and I'm sure it ain't easy for them to handle.
That and my wife is a teacher (SPED) for going on 15 years now so I totally get how things are for them.
The one teacher today that received the Winnie the Pooh did ask how much she owed me, to which I said anything she'd like to contribute would be appreciated as it would go towards the cost of steel to provide more to the others. So she's grabbing cash for me tomorrow although I did remind her there's no obligation.
As for the parent? Yeah I'm already drawing up a monogram sign and quoted him as a paying customer so we're good there!
